About Angela Cunliffe
We live in Preston, Lancashire and travel over to our houses at La Tritire as often as we can.During many happy holidays in France with our 3 daughters , we often talked (over a glass of wine!) about buying a house there and 8 years ago we decided to take the plunge and do it. We have spent lots of time at our 2 houses with family and friends, but have also had 7 successful summers renting out through Owners Direct.
Angela Cunliffe purchased this House in 2008
Why Angela Cunliffe chose Azay-sur-Thouet
We bought Le Gite and La Grange because we loved them for their traditional feel and for the stunning views from the gardens. It also helped that they are in one of the sunniest regions of France! The houses are within easy distance of many interesting towns and attractions, but let you get a feel for an area of France that isn't spoiled by excessive tourism.
What makes this House unique
We love that our properties are in a pretty, rural area but supermarkets, restaurants, shops and banks are within easy distance at Secondigny or Parthenay. A big selling factor for us when we were house-hunting was the pool and hot tub and I hope that they will persuade you to rent from us! Relaxing in the hot-tub, on a warm evening, with a starry sky above you is hard to beat!

Quirky, traditional gite - perfect for those looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing.
Quirky gite off the beaten track - complete with pool. It proved to be the perfect holiday retreat for our family, with three children aged between 10
and six, wanting to escape and relax. You have the choice of spending your time lounging by the pool & sheltering from the sun on the terrace, or exploring the local nearby towns or villages. We had a wonderful family holiday here, and would consider returning.
This guest complained that we did not provide a liquidiser or fruit knives which is quite correct, in the ten years we have provided holiday accommodation we have never been asked for such items and do not regard them as basic. The pool was cleaned regularly while she was there but we do remind guests that, because it is a rural area leaves will still be blown into the pool and guests should remove them to maintain the hygienic conditions. The effect the long hot summer has a significant effect on a French garden, it was not unkempt but merely very dry.
