Charming villa located in a peaceful area yet close to shops and beaches

Casa Tomilhos is a charming, rustic detached, 3 bedroom,2 bathroom villa with its own saltwater, heated pool. Set in a beautiful, south facing location in the hills above Loule, the villa overlooks olive groves and offers spectacular views of the sea. Located in a peaceful area, the centre of Loule, with its supermarkets, shops and restaurants, is only five minutes drive away by car, whilst the larger town of Almancil and the resorts and beaches of Val de Lobo and Quinta da Lobo are only a short 15 minute car journey. The Villa features two air conditioned double bedrooms (one on ensuite) and both with queen size beds. A further spacious bedroom provides two single beds with plenty of space for an additional travel cot. There is a second large bathroom with walk in shower. The light and airy sitting room has doors opening onto the shaded veranda and features a wood burning stove, which, together with central heating, provides welcome warmth in the cooler months.. The separate dining room seats up to 8 and has double doors opening on to the terrace. A modern and spacious kitchen leads off the dining room and is extremely well equipped.

Outside, a south facing shady veranda runs the entire length of the villa and leads to the solar heated salt water pool (approx 10x5 m) which is surrounded by a large sun deck with plenty of sun loungers. A tiled gazebo provides welcome shade. The beautiful, landscaped gardens feature a "chill out" zone with outdoor sofas. Perfect for an afternoon siesta! We provide linen, bath and swimming towels. A welcome pack is provided on arrival.

Casa Tomilhos is ideal for families. We try to provide everything you need when travelling with young children, e.g. travel cots (with bedding), bed guards, high chair, changing mat, baby bath etc. We have installed child gates and fencing to secure access to the pool and gardens. There is also plenty of both indoor and outdoor toys, books, games, buckets, spades, beach chairs, balls. The flat screen TV offers a wide range of SKY programmes. Good wifi access.

About Brian Heather

Brian and Jenny Heather bought Casa Tomilhos in 2008 after their retirement to enjoy holidays with their families. They live in Gloucestershire and have four grandchildren aged between 7 and 3. They have all enjoyed spending summers together. Child gates and fencing off the pool created a safe environment with controlled access to the pool where they have all learned to swim. To make traveling with them first as babies and now toddlers we have ensured there is plenty of lots of shaded areas to protect them in very hot weather and supplied essential equipment as well as toys, games, play doh, puzzles etc. and a TV providing lots of children's movies and programmes to entertain them and give the parents a few hours of peace! Brian and Jenny have consistently upgraded, refurbished the villa each year. They regard Casa Tomilhos as their "home from home" which we invite our guests to enjoy when we are in the UK

Lovely Relaxing Stay

Had a lovely stay at Casa Tomilhos. The Villa was clean and well maintained exceptionally well equipped.... it had everything you would want. The villa was very high up on the mountainside and had lovely views of Loule and the sea in the distance. A car is a must though. I would recommend this villa to anyone. We have stayed in a number of villa's in this price range and this one is head and shoulders above any that we have stayed in. I will be back in touch for a couple of weeks next year.

My Husband and I have just returned from another glorious 2 week holiday at Casa Tomilhos villa. I have already provisionally booked dates for 2016 and we are counting the days. Since our last visit, the owners have tastefully refurbished the family bathroom, which now has a splendid walk in shower, along with some other refurbishments to the bedrooms. There is a very comprehensive folder at the villa with lots of suggestions of local restaurants and places of interest, this year we had a couple of meals in restaurants in Loule town, which were very good. The villa and location in our opinion still remains the best we have booked. We feel confident in saying, if you book the villa you will not be disappointed.

Steve & I stayed at the villa June 2014, of all the villas that we have previously booked via Owners Direct and other villa companies, in our opinion, it has been the best by far. Prior to your visit to the villa, the owners send a very comprehensive guide of things you need to know regarding using the pool, TV, etc, the directions from Faro airport to the villa are totally accurate and the description on the web site is exactly as you see and read. I spoke to the owners by phone on a few occasion, they were very helpful and very pleasant. It is well equipped, clean and well maintained, both inside and out, you simply turn up and enjoy. The villa in our opinion, is a "Home from Home". The town of Loule is great for restaurants, cafes, shops, Barclays bank, indoor market, supermarkets and Saturday morning is the local outdoor market (leather goods, clothes, linens, etc), worth a look. There is a card on the pin board in the villa for a local taxi driver called Mario, we used him a couple of times, his English is very good and also his prices.

Steve did not want me to write a review, he thinks the villa should be kept a secret!! (otherwise everyone will want to go). We have already contacted the owners and have provisionally requested dates for 2015. we are already counting the days!

Home from Home!

This is the second time we have stayed at Casa Tomilhos having returned after such a fantastic holiday last year. The villa is set in the hills just outside of Loule in a peaceful setting and not overlooked by any other villas. A car is necessary to get around and the journey from Faro airport takes about 30 minutes.

So much is provided by the owners that we managed to get away with one case between the four of us this year! The pool is wonderful with plenty of sun loungers and shade if you prefer; the villa itself has all mod cons such as dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, internet connection, etc. and there is UK satellite television for when you've exhausted yourself in the pool and need to chill out! Towels and beach towels are provided, two of the bedrooms have air-conditioning (which was a godsend this year) and there is a welcome pack of basic food and drink for when you arrive, particularly useful if you arrive late at night and can't get to the supermarket. Continente supermarket is a couple of minutes drive away and is well stocked with everything you could need. The location makes a good base for sight-seeing and places such as Faro, Quarteira, Albufeira, Vilamoura and Tavira are all easily accessible without needing to use the motorway.

Can't recommend this villa highly enough!

Approximately 20 minutes drive to miles of superb beaches between Quinta da Lago and Albufeira - other resorts such as Olhao and Tavira are within 30 minutes.

The property is 20 minutes drive (13 miles) from Faro Airport. A car is recommended and car hire is easily available at reasonable rates.
