The Grand

The Grand is a lovely Victorian property set in a wide treelined avenue. It boasts many original features, high ceilings and large airy rooms with wooden floors and gas central heating.. The rooms are tastefully decorated and stylishly furnished. The large kitchen/diner is well equipped with most modern conveniences including a range style electric cooker, American style fridge/freezer,table and chairs, microwave, large toaster, electric kettle, blender, electric juicer.The living room and dining area are perfect for entertaining or relaxing. There are five large bedrooms, 2 on the first floor and 3 on the 2nd floor. There are 2 bathrooms and 1 cloakroom. Both the seafront and the high street with a comprehensive selection of supermarkets, cafe's, restaurants, butcher, wine shop, fruit and vegetable store,and many individual shops is a few minutes walk from the property.

1. "THE GRAND' is a huge 5 bedroom maisonette which comprises the top part of this character house.and sleeps 12 guests (or up to 14 with prior approval). It has its own separate external front door.

2. "HIDEAWAY" is a large 3 bedroomed ground floor apartment which sleeps up to 8 guests and has its own separate external front door. There is a secluded Japanese styled garden at the rear of the house which is perfect for alfresco dining or BBQ.


Both are very well maintained, comfortable and decorated to a high contemporary standard. Equipment provided is comprehensive and includes, free WIFI, American Style fridge/freezers,microwaves,washing machines, dishwashers large flat screen televisions, with Freeview, DVD players.

The property is perfectly situated a couple of minutes walk to the beautiful clean blue flag status sandy beaches which stretch for 9 miles. Southbourne high street, with its comprehensive selection of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, cafes, takeaways, is a few minutes walk from the property.

Activities such as surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing, canoeing, sailing, fishing, paint ball, bowling, horse riding, gliding are available locally. Easy access to the New Forest, Isle of Wight, Poole. Sandbanks, Weymouth, Salisbury, Christchurch. Romsey, Corfe Castle, Brownsea Island and Jurassic Coast, to name but a few. This property as it is has so much character with large, comfortable, rooms, set in a beautiful tree lined avenue, with 9 miles of beautiful, uninterrupted clean sandy beaches at the end of the road. I love Bournemouth's micro climate - the weather tends to be warmer than the rest of England - and its access to so many lovely and historic places.

Location, Location, location! 7 miles of beautiful blue star award winning sandy beaches are a few minutes walk from the property. The area boasts fabulous restaurants, beach bars, pubs, shops, sailing, horse riding, golf,water sports. The property is very conveniently situated for access to Bournemouth town centre with all its shops and night clubs and excellent night life. Poole, Weymouth,New forest, Isle of Wight, Lymington, Winchester, the famous Brownsea Island. Poultons Park to name a few.

Pokesdown Train station is within walking distance of the property. Bournemouth Train Station is approximately 10 minute drive away. Buses leave from the high street (a couple of minutes walk from the property) to many destinations. Bournemouth International Airport only 15 minutes drive from property.

Booking Notes:
Deposit of 25% required to secure a booking. Payments can be made by internet bank transfer or direct payment into bank account at a bank. No credit or debit card facilities. Balance 6 weeks prior to arrival date.Whole balance required immediately for late bookings. £300 security deposit against damage and breakages required. £20 charged per dog per week. We do not supply linen (ie sheets,pillow cases,duvet covers) and towels. Linen & towels can be arranged £8 or just linen for £5 per guest.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Friday. Guests are requested to vacate the property by 10am. Arrival time for new guests 4pm. onwards. Guests may drop off their belongings earlier by arrangement.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. A deposit of 25% of the total cost is required to secure a booking. The balance is due 6 weeks prior to arrival date. Refundable security deposit of £300 against damage and breakages is required. £30 charged per dog per week. Linen (sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases) and towels not included in price but can be arranged for £8 per person per week.

Spacious, well-presented and comfortable.

My friends and I had a great stay at The Grand. The property is deceptively spacious and very well presented.

The location was perfect for us....just a few minutes walk to the cliffs and pathways down to the beach in one direction, and a couple of minutes walk to the high street in the other direction, which had a good selection of bars, restaurants, take-aways and just about everything else we needed.

The kitchen was really well equipped for when we wanted to cook there and beds were super comfy.

The owner was really helpful with her communications and would certainly look to stay there again if the need arises!

Excellent accommodation, in brilliant location.

My large family group stayed at the property very recently, and we were all delighted with how attractive and comfortable it was. It is tastefully furnished and decorated, in contemporary style, and the standard of cleanliness, and the facilities, are first rate. The location is brilliant, being close to numerous amenities, attractions, beauty spots, and beaches. The clifftops and beach, and local shops, are just a short walk away. Whatever your age, or interests, there is something nearby. The proprietor was extremely helpful, easy to deal with, and efficient, and was keen to make your stay troublefree. We plan to stay again for future family get-togethers.

highly recommend staying at the grand!

We stayed at The Grand for a pre Christmas family get together in December. We had a really lovely time.

The house was big and spacious with lovely decor and furnishings.

The kitchen was well stocked with every modern convenience, The beds were super comfortable.

The Grand is only a few minutes walk from the seafront. The high street has a very comprehensive selection of supermarkets, cafe's, restaurants and interesting individual shops. Bournemouth centre is less than 10 minutes drive away.

We would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone who wants a fabulous place to stay.

Very nice house, clean and tidy and quiet.

Stayed at the property for two nights with some friends. The house itself was very spacious and clean. Plenty of bathrooms along with bedrooms. The owner was extremely polite and informative. Would recommend this house to anyone looking to come up to Bournemouth for a few days. Will definitely be staying again!

Amazing house best accommodation we have stayed at

We stayed at the hideaway over the Christmas period and it really was incredible. Such a lovely place to stay for a week. Was a great base for our family holiday. We were able to explore beautiful Bournemouth coast from here.

The welcome pack was so thoughtful and well received after a long journey. The dogs loved the treats too.

The hideaway had plenty of room and all the equipment we could possibly need to stay comfortably which meant we could cook and clean with out any hassle. Beautifully decorated throughout with a modern stylish feel. Felt like a luxury home away from home. Also had a fab little garden.

We have already made enquiries to return for our summer holiday.

Beautiful property in prime location - near beach

We were highly impressed with The Grand. The property was spotlessly clean and homely with lovely decor and furnishings and comfortable beds.

The kitchen had all modern conveniences and plenty of crockery; glasses and cooking equipment. The Grand is in a prime location just a few minutes walk from lovely sandy beaches and the high street with supermarkets; cafe's; restaurants and pubs. This property is a real gem of a find and we are hoping to come again in the future.

There's a chain ferry from Sandbanks (20 mins drive) to Shell Bay.
