About Mr Brian Schofield

We live in Pembrokeshire and have three boys. I have lived in Pembrokeshire since 1975 when my parents retired to Pembrokeshire.

Mr Brian Schofield purchased this cottage in 1993

Why Mr Brian Schofield chose Fishguard

We bought this property to live in our selves, but before we started to renovate it the larger property next door came up for sale a few years later. So, we renovated the cottage next door and moved into it in September 1997. We then spent several years improving the grounds, we have over six acres now.

then in 2005 we completed the renovation of the smaller cottage carrying out most of the work ourselves.

we opened up the down stairs into a lounge and dinning area whilst the kitchen is at the rear which then leads onto the enclosed garden.

What makes this cottage unique

As we live next door i would have to say that the joy of living in Pembrokeshire is that we are on holiday as soon as we finish work ,and we have a mini break every weekend.

Pembrokeshire is renowned for its beauty, the 164 miles of the only true marine national park coast path.

Blue flag beaches, many of which you can find empty even in the height of the summer. Pembrokeshire is blessed with some of the cleanest air in Britain. The southwest wind blows off some 3000 miles of empty Atlantic ocean!

Even in the winter a walk across a wind swept beach like Newgale is a joy and makes your Dinner taste all that much nicer.

A stay in our cottage is pleasant what ever the weather!

Cosy cottage lives up to its name

  • 5 of 5

We had a very blustery and wet weekend but the cottage with it’s good central heating kept us cosy and warm which was certainly welcome after an equally blustery coastal walk. We used the Hot Tub each day of our stay and thoroughly enjoyed the garden in which it was set. Each of the two bedrooms had an en suite shower room which was ideal. A large beautifully fitted bathroom was adjacent to the kitchen, the underfloor heating a treat. Thanks to Brian our host who made us feel most welcome.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review it too was a pleasure to meet you and your two sisters ,so pleased you had a walk round Dinas head ,Its one of the most scenic walks in North Pemb's, and the hot tub to soak your tired legs after your walk. come back in late May its the best time for coastal walks , all the wild flowers are out in bloom and you have the long days.

Home from home

Very comfortable clean cottage, everything we could want. Brian and joelle were lovely friendly hosts.

The cottage is is well located for many local beaches and walks with plenty of places to eat out within a mile or two.

The property was perfect for a quiet holiday. Relaxing in the fantastic hot tub after a long walk on the beautiful Pembroke coast path was the icing on the cake.

A fantastic base to explore the Welsh coastline and countryside.

  • 5 of 5

The property was as described and was clean and well maintained. The owners gave us a warm welcome and offered their advice and recommendations on the local area if we needed it. We loved the hot tub, the private back garden and a trip on the boat on the lake in the cottage grounds. We would most definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a quiet holiday with a short drive to more family orientated activities or walks along the picturesque coastline. There were several restaurants offering home cooked food nearby, and many attractions for families not too far away such as Oakwood theme park, clerkenhills farm, heatherton world of adventure, blue lagoon swimming and more beautiful beaches to visit than we had days to do so!

Des Res in Pembrokeshire

  • 4 of 5

When your own home is kept clean, you don't want to be let down by the standard of the holiday let. You won't be here. It's spotless. It's extremely comfortable. It's 5star home from home. Not a great view but you don't spend your time staring through the window. The surroundings are wonderful.

Owner's Response: Dear John Thank you for your review, i have passed on your comments about the cleanliness to my wife and her cleaner , has for the view i have to disagree ,w e love sitting out of the patio taking in the rolling hills of North Pembrokeshire and the cows and sheep grazing on the bright green fields, i appreciate its not a sea view but we don't advertise a sea view , we are however close to many blue star beaches and the renowned Pembrokeshire coast path.
