About Sam Thomas & Jon Facey

We are a couple living and working in Somerset and we try to spend as much time as we can in Cornwall. I was born in Cornwall and have family nearby in Hayle and the surrounding villages and Jon is a water sports enthusiast so spends as much time as work permits kitesurfing at Gwithian, Sandy Acres and Marazion

Sam Thomas & Jon Facey purchased this bungalow in 2006

Why Sam Thomas & Jon Facey chose Cornwall

We bought Leafy Hollow in 2006 as it's an ideal base for us, especially as we like to bring our dog on holiday with us.

What makes this bungalow unique

When we purchased the bungalow in 2006 it was a 2 bedroom standard layout with a very small bathroom which didn't work for us. Jon worked hard to improve the internal layout to a larger 1 bedroom with larger bathroom which gives a more comfortable living space for a couple. We added a sofa bed to the lounge so that the property can still sleep 4. We have equiped the bungalow to a very high standard to make your stay a 'home from home' experience.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Upon arrival we were pleasantly greeted by a squirrel on the doorstep, who in turn made a quick dash for the nearest tree.

The chalet itself was fantastic, very well thought through and all you need and more for a self catering holiday.

The kitchen has everything including a washing machine which is great considering we have a typical 3 year old who manages to get mucky at the first opportunity.

The living room has an easy to use sofa bed which is really comfy especially in the evenings when we selected one of the many DVDs that are on offer to watch.

The bedroom is very well decorated and spacious.

The bathroom has plenty of storage room for towels etc as well as a massive walk in shower.

Leafy Hollow is brilliantly located for short trips into St Ives, Penzance and Hayle.

Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a holiday in Cornwall.

Thanks again

Lovely bungalow, everything you need is there. Lovely woodland walk on site . Bungalow is close to everything asda 5 mins down the road. 2 very cheeky squirrels that come to the bungalow and look through the window at you until you feed them . Will be back and would recommend to family and friends. Thank you for a wonderful week

Leafy Hollow was a great base to see west Cornwall. We were blessed with lovely weather. Very well equipped and comfortable. Little things that make the difference. Excellent communication with owners. We enjoyed the woodland walks and the wildlife that visited. Very quiet and peaceful. Would recommend and will come again.

A lovely well equipped modern property to stay in. Tastefully decorated throughout. A vast array of cooking and serving utensils. Washer/dryer too!!! Loads of wildlife visited daily. An unexpectedly quiet bungalow to stay in as its located on a holiday park. This has been our third visit and we will be returning 🙂?

Great stay with everything you needed for a week away. Didn't miss anything from home it was so comfortable. Woke every morning to squirrels on the doorstep waiting for their nuts. The chalet was well equipped in the kitchen, and lounge area with DVD's and games to use. We had great weather for March and enjoyed walking and visiting the sites. Easy access to train station as well.

Lovely comfy bedroom and nicely decorated throughout.

Thanks for a great holiday base.
