Leafy Hollow is an excellent base for couples and small families to explore Cornwall. A few minutes by car will take you to St Ives with the famous Tate Gallery or to the 3 miles of golden sand at Hayle Towans. St Michael's Mount and Lands End are within easy reach. A little further afield are the spectacular Eden Project or Newquay, the surfing capital. From nearby Penzance you can take a trip by boat to the Isles of Scilly.
We are a couple living and working in Somerset and we try to spend as much time as we can in Cornwall. I was born in Cornwall and have family nearby in Hayle and the surrounding villages and Jon is a water sports enthusiast so spends as much time as work permits kitesurfing at Gwithian, Sandy Acres and Marazion
Sam Thomas purchased this bungalow in 2006
We bought Leafy Hollow in 2006 as it's an ideal base for us, especially as we like to bring our dog on holiday with us.
When we purchased the bungalow in 2006 it was a 2 bedroom standard layout with a very small bathroom which didn't work for us. Jon worked hard to improve the internal layout to a larger 1 bedroom with larger bathroom which gives a more comfortable living space for a couple. We added a sofa bed to the lounge so that the property can still sleep 4. We have equiped the bungalow to a very high standard to make your stay a 'home from home' experience.
Upon arrival we were pleasantly greeted by a squirrel on the doorstep, who in turn made a quick dash for the nearest tree.
The chalet itself was fantastic, very well thought through and all you need and more for a self catering holiday.
The kitchen has everything including a washing machine which is great considering we have a typical 3 year old who manages to get mucky at the first opportunity.
The living room has an easy to use sofa bed which is really comfy especially in the evenings when we selected one of the many DVDs that are on offer to watch.
The bedroom is very well decorated and spacious.
The bathroom has plenty of storage room for towels etc as well as a massive walk in shower.
Leafy Hollow is brilliantly located for short trips into St Ives, Penzance and Hayle.
Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a holiday in Cornwall.

A absolute gorgeous well furnished bungalow, very modern with every single thing you need,I was blown away with the very high standard, when it says you only need to take bath towels that is exactly all you need to take.very well furnished clean and cosy, stayed for a week with my wife and four year old son who never wanted to come home the owners have great communication and very helpful with all my questiones.great base to visit st Ives, lands end,st Michaels mount, and hale just down the road, site facilities was good with swimming pool evening entertainment for the kids, just loved sitting watching the crazy squirrels looking through the nice double glazed doors when your watching television.great to wash and dry all your clothes before you come home.would reccomend this a visit to anybody as you shall be surprised as I was.just want to thank Sam again we shall be back sooner rather than later.
Great stay with everything you needed for a week away. Didn't miss anything from home it was so comfortable. Woke every morning to squirrels on the doorstep waiting for their nuts. The chalet was well equipped in the kitchen, and lounge area with DVD's and games to use. We had great weather for March and enjoyed walking and visiting the sites. Easy access to train station as well.
Lovely comfy bedroom and nicely decorated throughout.
Thanks for a great holiday base.
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely 2 weeks break with our 2 dogs at the end of September. The owners were incredibly helpful in allowing us early access, which was definitley appreciated after our drive from Newcastle upon tyne.
Amazed at how well equipped the bungalow was and the washer dryer was an absolute god send for us,especially as we had lots of dog blankets and towels to clean after enjoying the local beaches.
woodland setting lovely and the squirrels were very entertaining
We had the pleasure of staying here for a week and Leafy Hollow surpassed our expectations in every way. The accomodation itself has everything you could ever need. When it says you only need towels it's not lying. From washing up liquid to every kitchen utensil you can imagine, it's all there.
It's a beautiful Bungalow, very spacious and comfortable and in a great location for accessing Cornwalls many offerings. Spotlessly clean, heaters in every room if needed, and perfect in every way.
Will be recomending it to our friends and family and hopefully we'll have the pleasure of staying here again.
Wow!!! We arrived on the Saturday, slightly earlier than expected but this had all been agreed with Sam and Jon who been nothing short fantastic in the booking process and beyond.
The holiday park looked good, very quiet and well kept, keep an eye for the rabbits!! We got the keys for the chalet and low and behold it had been newly decorated, smelt great and was superbly equipped!
For the week that we were there it became a second home, exactly what we needed with our 6month old with us.
You're very close to Penzance, now a shadow of its former self, Lands End, Sennen, St Ives and The Minack theatre and Porthcurno beach.
Further afield are Newquay and Padstow as well as Lizard further South.
Be sure to visit the pub with the Elvis impersonator, I forget the name but you turn right out of the holiday park and it on your left, he makes his own scones and they are delicious!
If you get a chance have a walk around the holiday park too, there are some lovely nature trails.
Overall, an incredible place that we will definitely return to made all the better by being able to return after a long day to such a beautiful, warm, clean "home".
We just got back from a week at Leafy Hollow and found the cottage to be extremely clean and in excellent condition. We are always a bit dubious when dogs are accepted but you would never know dogs had been in there apart from the supplied dog bowl and free tin of dog food.It was equipped with everything you need and more .The location on the park right next to the woods made it very convenient for us to walk our dogs.If you are looking for a reasonably priced holiday at St Ives holiday village go direct to Sam and Jon you won't be disappointed
10 minutes from Hayle with its 3 miles of golden sands on the North coast, and 10 minutes from Mounts Bay on the South Coast.
St.Ives hosts the south west's Tate Gallery. St Michaels Mount and Lands End are within easy reach. A little further afield are the spectacular Eden Project or Newquay, the surfing capital.
