Why Carole Sudlow chose Saint Austell Bay

We have owned these cottages for nearly 10 years and we still marvel at the super sea view every time we visit. It is what convinced us to purchase in the first place.

The bedrooms are upstairs, the living accommodation is on the ground floor. The master bedroom is sea facing and has a fantastic view. A 5th person can be accommodated on a put you up bed which is used in one of the bedrooms when needed otherwise stored away, it is a little tight but is possible. Ok but could've been better

  • 2 of 5

I hate writing negative reviews especially because this of fab location and price was great. However on arrival when first gazed at view, we were distracted by very smudged windows. The first couple of mornings were abruptly woken at 8.30 with a dog outside the front pateo barking relentlessly for his walk from owners of niegbouring property. They also had v loud drilling at 7.30am while fitting cupboard. After gentle complaint from hol lets they were fine. Needed a plaster one day but no first aid kit in property. On last day and night the upstairs lights didn't work at all. Didn't worry about it as we were going following day. Despite all this, I would be happy to return but I just felt that property needs bit of love and care and updating.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments it was unfortunate that the owners of the cottage next door were doing some minor pre season works which disrupted your stay, it is normally a very quite location, the works and dog are beyond our control. With 60% repeat guests we are surprised that you found it unloved as most of our guests consider the cottage homely.
