Everyone who loves food and wine will enjoy the genuine warmth and enthusiastic hospitality from Kevin and Maggie on their Catalan country property, just 12km from Perpignan. The village of Espira de l'Agly is a 25 minute walk away. It has a bar, a restaurant, a Spar supermarket, a butcher's/deli, post office and bakery. There are at least 8 restaurants within an 8km radius of Espira. An ideal base from which to explore the vineyards of the Languedoc Roussillon, as well as the castles and gorges of the Cathar country. The Mediterranean coastline is a mere 30 minute drive away and a little further south you will find, nestled in a bay, the old and picturesque port of Collioure, full of art galleries and colourful Catalan fishing boats and then beyond that across the border is the Costa Brava. Your hosts are always on hand to recommend restaurants, vineyards to visit and other places of interest.

An absolutely perfect week! with wonderful hosts (and a super pooch!). We were most fortunate to have found you.
Perfect! We stayed in the little garden house - small but with everything we needed. The garden and patio areas are delightful: pretty and restful; we enjoyed a peaceful day by the pool just soaking up the sun.
Maggie and Kevin are the perfect hosts - generous with their time and delicious ratatouille. We felt as if we were visiting friends rather than renting a holiday home.
Mas des las Guilles is definitely top of our list for a holiday in France.
My wife and I stayed at Mas de las Guilles for a week in September. We chose it because of its excellent location and attractive description. What we had not expected was the extraordinary hospitality that hosts, Maggie and Kevin, offered us. They were so welcoming and helpful that we felt at home immediately. They gave us great advice on where to go to visit and eat well in the area. Kevin, a retired Michelin star chef, taught me how to make the perfect ratatouille and his coleslaw is out of this world! The highlight of our stay was a visit to Chateau de Jau, a vineyard in the middle of nowhere that offers a wine tasting experience as part of a meal. The setting is incredible, the service friendly, and the wines outstanding. We enjoyed our stay at Mas de las Guilles so much that we are already making plans to return. I would highly recommend it.
We stayed in a B&B room at Maggie and Kevin's for 2 nights. We felt completely at home and welcome. Maggie and Kevin are amazing hosts. There is lots to see in the area so 2 nights wasn't enough really. Our room was large with a big ensuite and a nice comfy bed. Maggie helped us find further accommodation for the rest of our trip and Kevin took us to the village to show us where the shops were. We couldn't have asked for more. Thanks to both of you for making us so welcome. Jackie and Steve
The nearest beach is half an hour's drive away. From then on, there is a choice of either quiet and unspoilt beaches with the occasional little restaurant or there are holiday resorts/towns, and a few ports/marinas with shops, restaurants, cafes and bars with St. Cyprien, Argeles-sur-Mer and Canet-en-Rouissillon being the liveliest in July and August. The sandy Mediterranean beach stretches from Port Argeles all the way up to Narbonne and beyond.
Montpelier 1 hr. 30 mins drive. Nearest airport Perpignan 7km.
Toulouse and Barcelona - just over 2 hours drive. Beziers, Carcassone and Girona about 1hr. 20 mins drive. Marseille -2hr 30 mins.
With it's close proximity to Perpignan airport and easy access to the A9 autoroute, the Mas de las Guilles is ideally placed for house/property hunters. We are located just off the D117 which passes through the Cathar villages of Maury,Foix,Limoux, Rennes-le-Chateau and ends up at the magical cité of Carcassonne.
