A quality, non complex property . Particularly suitable for those seeking a quiet holiday or a base from which to explore the island. The apartment is fully equipped and comfortable with a private heated pool of which the guests have sole use. This is most suited for couples. Set on the edge of the tranquil village of Lajares, The property is set in lush green volcanic gardens with open views over fields and extinct volcanoes. Lajares is a multicultural village set in the north of the island of Fuerteventura, midway between its main tourist resort of Corralejo, the quiet Spanish village of Cotillo and the very small village of Majanicho. All 3 locations have superb golden sandy beaches and are just 10 minutes away (approximately 5 miles). Lajares has many bars, shops and restaurants and is well served by public transport and taxis but for complete flexibility and convenience, a hire car is highly recommended.

Set in the north of the village away from Goats and noisy dogs. This area is generally agreed to be the nicest part of Lajares and Lajares is the most desirable village on the Island with a balance of Residents and tourists of all nationalities.

A gem of a holiday home. Spacious, comfortable and with all the facilities we could want. Loved the swimming pool – warm, inviting, just perfect for an end of day swim.

This was our first stay in Lajares and we enjoyed the location – just a few minutes from the Lagoons at El Cotillo but also Corralejo. A short stroll into the village for an evening meal. This holiday home would merit discerning Fuerte lovers.



Had a wonderful holiday, the villa is beautiful. The swimming pool was great, overall a very relaxing holiday, quiet and peaceful will definitely recommend to friends and family.



Many thanks for a warm welcome to such a comfortable and well appointed apartment. The heated pool and the quiet location were the deciding factors in our choice of venue. We now know we made the right decisions and would not hesitate to recommend this to like minded couples.



Had a wonderful holiday. Apartment & pool was lovely and so nice to have it all to ourselves. We will be returning soon.

Special interest holidays:

The area is ideally located for many activities i.e surfing, wind/kite surfing, fishing, diving, cycling/mountain biking, walking and running. Horse riding, motor cross and quad tours are also available.

Coast/Beach:

Lajares is a multicultural village set in the north of the island of Fuerteventura, midway between its main tourist resort of Corralejo, the quite Spanish village of Cotillo and the very small village of Majanicho. All three locations have superb golden sandy beaches and are just 10 minutes away (approximately 5 miles). Due to Fuerteventura's closeness to Lanzarote, it is possible to visit the other island by taking a 15 minute ferry ride which runs every hour from Corralejo.

Travel:

Due to the location of the apartment, a car is highly recommended and can be pre-booked in the UK or we can arrange car hire for you. Cars can be collected at the airport, Corralejo or delivered to the apartment. Car hire rates are from approximately £160/£180 for 2 weeks. There is a regular bus service between Corralejo, the capital Puerto del Rosario and El Cotillo. Taxis are easily available. The airport is approximately 30km away taking around 40 mins.

Distances:

Within the village the bus stop is 700m away with the supermarket 1100m away, other shops, bars and restaurants are in between these.

Further Details:

The following is a list of facilities in the village which may be of interest - a cash point, 6 bars serving food and drinks, restaurant with a small hotel, supermarket which sells meat and fish, paper shop which sells some English newspapers, chemist who is English speaking, pizzeria, goat's cheese maker, a community centre where village festivities can be watched at certain times of the year and where a small Saturday morning vegetable market is held which sells local produce. A church which sometimes has some colorful processions and outdoor services, 2 furniture and home decoration shops, an estate agent, fitness centre, flood lit football stadium where local games can be watched, visitor/craft centre where you can see lace being made.

And for the adventurous, walking in the hills to look into the remains of a real volcano, cycle riding . The owner's wife speaks fluent Spanish and is available to assist if any problems arise during your stay.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment is non smoking, however guests may smoke out on the patio. The apartment is not suitable for children therefore no children please. Pets are not permitted. Outside: A patio with a pergola (to shield you from the sun in midsummer), wooden table and chairs. Adjacent there is a terrace with sun beds, and an outdoor shower. The swimming pool is 8m x 4m in size. For all year round comfort the pool is solar heated and to retain the heat, there is an insulated cover for when the pool is not in use. The pool is for the sole use of the guests. (The owners may use the pool in the guests absence.) Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bedlinen included. These are changed weekly. Towels should not be removed from the apartment. Other: Hallway linking all rooms. This also contains a large fitted wardrobe containing an iron and ironing board, airer, blankets and a quilt. There are also cushions for the outside chairs.

Clean , comfortable and convenient

The apartment is conveniently located in Lajares which is halfway between Correjco and El Cotillo. A car is a necessity rather than a luxury as Lajares itself has basic shops and restaurants. If you wish to explore the Island further either to climb vocanos or find some stunning beaches you are perfectly situated here .

The apartment is very clean and has everything you could wish for to make it feel a home from home. The pool is very warm and the hosts Martin and Sue are very helpful and pleasant.

The apartment really is a little gem. We really enjoyed our stay here and would return in a flash.

great little find

A brilliant place to spend a quiet couple of weeks....the owner's were away whilst we were there but made sure we had contact numbers in case of any issues....Only a gentle stroll into the centre of Lajares and a 10-15 minute drive into Correlejo..... The apartment is a good size for two people and had most everything you could require. The tv selection is very limited with regards to british channels, but I had my Kindle so it wasn't a problem. I was in the pool almost every day despite it being January...a little cool to start but fine once in. I can definitely recommend this apartment for anyone not wanting to be on a complex but still relatively close to amenities. We look forward to returning in the future.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I am sorry you were not happy with the available tv channels. There are hundreds of English language channels with a few British channels but no BBC or ITV, although the quality of many channels leave a little to be desired. The Spanish channels transmit most of their films in English. I am sorry we were not there as we could have helped in locating these channels.. For the future wee are looking into getting Internet TV. On another point we are currently waiting delivery of an electric pool heater to supplement the solar heating in the cooler months.

Stunning property in an ideal setting!

Wow! What a thoroughly relaxing and chilled out holiday! The apartment is stunning and the owners have gone to great lengths to ensure their quests are looked after.

The apartment is extremely well equipped with high quality fixtures and fittings. Even the free wifi was exceptionally fast. Every little detail about this place is absolutely spot on. The owners are such lovely people, they completely respected our privacy throughout our entire stay but were always on hand should we need anything (tips about restaurants, things to do, places to see etc). It was like having exceptional neighbours throughout our stay.

The location is perfect, although hiring a car is advisable. There are lots of little restaurants and bars within walking distance of the apartment and also a fantastic supermarket offering exceptional quality at very reasonable prices.

Corralejo is a short drive away (ten to fifteen minutes) with its amazing beaches, restaurants, shops and bars. A five to ten minute drive in the other direction from the apartment will take you to the beautiful little town of El Cotillo, with its amazing beaches and harbours. There are also some cracking little restaurants to be found here.

Would we return to the apartment? Absolutely! The private pool was the icing on the cake for us! What more can I say? A stunning property in a lovely, tranquil location with owners who really go the extra mile (or kilometre) to ensure their guests have a fantastic holiday!

I can't wait to return!

Well situated, excellent apartment with pool

We chose3 Lajares to be away from the more touristy south of the island, and to enjoy the fantastic beaches and walking around the north coast, for which Lajares is ideally situated. As advised by Martin we hired a car and had no difficulty following his excellent directions. The apartment is first-class, everything as advertised, clean and well-equipped. We were blessed with good weather for most of the time, some days enjoying excursions and some just being lazy in or round the pool. Martin and Sue were excellent hosts, available for advice and help but otherwise leaving us undisturbed to enjoy the holiday. Thoroughly recommended.

Great Holiday Great Property

Well I have stayed in Lajares on many occasions and this property is definitely one of the best I have stayed in. The owners are great and we had sole use of the pool throughout our stay. Everything you need is at the property and it is well worth exploring the cupboard in the hallway for a cool bag plus loads of other useful items. Only a 15 minute stroll into the centre of Lajares, a good number of bars and restaurants. Once again a great stay, Cliff

Changeover Day:
Departure/arrival times are usually flexible depending on whether or not there are follow on guests. If there is a tight turn round time, we would ask that the apartment be vacated by 10am and arrival time is not before 2:30pm.

If your plans are to stay for longer than two weeks, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss special rates. If required, we can collect you from the airport and/or return you to the airport at the end of your holiday for 40 euros each way – the taxi charge is approximately 60 euros each way.
