Enormous 3-bed, 3-bath apartment with terrace in superb location - great value
Enormous 3-bedroom, 3 bathroom apartment situated in an old palace on Calle Caballeros, the most historic street in Valencia. The flat has an abundance of character and period features, including barrel-vaulted ceilings with wooden beams and mosaic tiled floors, as well as some modern touches. You enter the property via the grand entrance up one flight of the marble staircase. The entrance hall greets you and straight ahead to the left is the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. To the right is a shower room and two further bedrooms (1 double with an en-suite and 1 twin). To the left as you enter is the entrance room with piano and antique chair, then through a door is the open-plan living space with an office/reading area, TV room/sitting room, kitchen/diner room and a further sitting room. There are various places to sit and relax. You are in the heart of Valencia with the best bars and restaurants all around, so enjoy all that this fantastic city has to offer. Watch the world go by from the front sitting room with double-aspect views of the street. Parades pass right by the apartment.
Noise: Please note that our apartment is right in the centre of the old town and there are bars and restaurants all around. The Spanish tend to eat and drink late into the night, especially at weekends. If you are sensitive to noise, we recommend you bring earplugs.
Terrace: The terrace is communal although the other residents in the building do not use it. The terrace has 2 sun loungers and additional seating. It is on a slight slope and can be found on the top floor via some steps. It is very peaceful up there and gets the sun most of the day.
Child-friendly: We are pleased to offer lots of toys and DVDs to occupy your children. Many guests have praised us for this! For example, you will find hidden cupboards containing lego and games keeping your young ones entertained for hours.

About Katherine Monger
We are a British family and have lived in Valencia since 2005. While living here we have fallen in love with the city. Our two daughters were born here and go to one of the local schools.
Katherine Monger purchased this Apartment in 2005
Why Katherine Monger chose La Saïdia
The property is right in the heart of the old town, very spacious and full of period features. We love Spain and especially Valencia. Slowly but surely Spain's third city is gaining a reputation as a hidden gem and drawing larger numbers of visitors, attracted by its many charms. Our property is an ideal base to explore the city. There are many bike rental shops within a short walk and it's possible to bike to the beach through the old Turia riverbed public park, which is a beautiful green space a few minutes' walk from the property and beautifully preserved. it is the site of the Calatrava buildings ,which have helped put Valencia on the tourist map. The bike ride takes around 45 minutes and is one of our favourite things to do a as a family. We like to stop for lunch at the beach and cycle back after a few hours on the beach.
What makes this Apartment unique
The location of our apartment is unique. The front sitting room has double-aspect windows, so you have great views of the oldest street in Valencia and can watch the world go by. You will really feel you are in the heart of this beautiful city. During several important religious festivals, the parades pass right by the front sitting room. It is one of the best views you can have. On the 2nd Sunday of May, there is the festival of the Virgen de los Desamparados (Our Lady of the Forsaken). Neighbours will throw rose petals from all the balconies and the air will be filled with the smell in incense... the effect is surreal. In mid June (around the 18th) is the Corpus Christi procession, which dates back to 1355. There is a parade at the start with lots of chariots and colourful folkloric characters passing by, followed by a religious procession. Our apartment is right next door to the Parroquia de San Nicolas. The site of this church has been a place of religious worship (both Christian and Moorish) for nearly two thousand years. The oldest part of the current church dates back to around 1238. It has recently gone through a huge restoration and due to to its history and architectural interest, which include beautiful frescoes on the ceilings and other lavish features, it has become an very important tourist destination. At the end of our street, a few hundred meters away, is the Plaza de la Virgen, which also connects to the Plaza de al Reina, Valencia's most beautiful squares. The Plaza de la Virgen is where the processions end during the Las Fallas festival (from 15-19 March), which is an amazing street party that has gained a worldwide reputation.

Fab apartment in a great location -loved Valencia great for cycling, running, sights and food
The apartment was in the heart of the city and the booking arrangements were excellent. We had everything we needed and loved sitting in the front
Room with the doors open as we felt we were part of the vibrant street scene. The apartment was really spacious, clean and we had everything we needed. Within
Walking distance of all major
Sites and easy to cycle to the beach. We will definitely visit again.
Great host, perfect place, amazing location
Katherine and her team were the perfect hosts. We were there for Las Fallas so it was a crazy time. The house, though in the middle of everything, was an oasis. The rooms are in the back so it was relatively quiet given the location. I would not only recommend this home, but I'd stay here again!
Perfect flat for perfect holiday.
Excellent, condition, big space, perfect location, nice and very clean. All in one for perfect family holiday > Many thanks Kevin and Katherine.
All the best .
Awesome apartment right in the centre of it
What a brilliant apartment - so much space and everything you want is there. Centrally located with all the sights outside the front door we highly recommend this apartment. Restraunts and bars also easily accessible. Make sure you have a few drinks at Sant Juane and also Plaza Negreti - great atmosphere. Thanks Kathetine and Kevin
Spacious and Convenient
We are now home and reorienting to reality. What a wonderful apartment. Just as described, enough room for all 6 of us. The apartment is in the heart of the old city and only steps away from everything we needed (especially food and drink). People in Valencia were very friendly, helpful, and patient with our lack of Spanish. We had no problems communicating. Thank you for all your help and advice, the apartment booklet listing restaurants and attractions was very helpful. We were all senior citizens 65+ and had no trouble walking or getting a cab wherever we needed to go. At night we could sit in the living room and watch and listen to all the street activity at the bars and restaurants. Being right next to the oldest church in Valencia was interesting, It is still being used on a daily basis. We have vowed to take Spanish lessons and return as soon as possible!! Great place in every way!!
Absolutely beautiful property
The apartment is just beautiful and in a superb location, just 50 metres from quaint bars/cafes/restaurants. It's a huge apartment with everything of a high spec and very tastefully decorated.
We enjoyed the complimentary bottles of Cava on the roof terrace, which was very relaxing. Katherine & Kevin were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us, I would highly recommend staying here and also booking with them again.
Simply no better location from which to explore Valencia's historic quarter with its tourist attractions, restaurants and night life. Valencia was in Lonely Planet's Top Ten Cities for 2011. The Plaza de la Virgen, Basilica and Cathedral are only a few hundred meters away at the end of the street. Calle Caballeros and its historic palacios, including the Valencian Government building, will feature in any guide to the city of Valencia. Also, within a few minutes walk are the Micalet, the Silk Exchange (La Lonja - UNESCO world heritage site), the Mercado Central, the IVAM modern art museum, the Palace of the Marques de Dos Aguas and many more. Only 5 minutes walk away is the Turia public park, where you can enjoy a stroll or bike ride surrounded by nature. The park is home to the amazing City of Arts and Sciences, the Palau de Musica and the Bio Parc zoo. The America's Cup Port and the Malvarossa and Las Arenas beaches are only 15 minutes away by taxi.
