Derek Kehoe purchased this apartment in 2008
We bought the apartment in 2008 and spent quite a bit of time fitting out the interior with furniture pieces from Maison & Chateau, Italian designed kitchen and high standard bathroom fittings. The small private 14 development is perfectly safe for kids.
We loved Lake Como from the moment we arrived. San Siro area in particular is great because it is so peaceful. There are also so many outdoor activities for all age-groups and this area via Cremia/Pianello/Dongo is a real mecca for all water-sport enthusiasts.
The reasonably priced food/coffee/ice-cream is wonderful with great restaurants in San Siro and the neighbouring villages of Pianello, Cremia and Dongo.
There are also newly builty stunning lake-fron walks (lit at night-time) from Laguna Beach in Pianello and also in Cremia
The main things we like:-

2. Private pool for guests
3. Being just 5 minutes walk from the lake-front and the beach area
4. Being able to view the daily water-sport activities from the apartment

Upon arrival we were told there was no electricity at the property. There was also no gas supply. We spent a week in darkness and with only cold water to use. After speaking to the complex manager we discovered that the supply had been disconnected some months previously and despite our booking the accommodation months in advance, the owner had obviously left it too late to reconnect.
We were then asked at the end of our stay to pay more than just the deposit. This experience very nearly ruined our stay and we would recommend that you don't book this accommodation. Appalling attitude displayed by the owner. Stay well away!

There are a selection of beaches locally, with a nice newly completed beach and walkway at the lake-front. We are located about a 2 min drive away from the village centre which has shops, bars and restaurants and a number of other shops.. There is also a small shop 1 min walk from the apartment that can cater for all your basic needs (milk, bread, water). San Siro has a lovely beach area and there are a number of other beaches a short distance from San Siro including Pianello and Cremia. There are numerous small bars in the village and a fantastic selection of restaurants and snack bars and in the surrounding areas including Zanzibar and Luigi’s with great value in a beautiful rustic Italian setting). Creme Caramel on the lake-front is viewed as having the best pizzas on the lake. The numerous restaurants (mainly family-run) invite you to taste delicious Italian food while enjoying amazing views of the surrounding landscape across the lake. You can be as active as you like or spend the time peacefully relaxing. Take a hiking trip into the wild valleys of the area or explore it by mountain bike. Stroll around colourful markets or take a boat trip around the lake with the whole family. Activities are too numerous to mention - almost all sports are catered for. San Siro (which was formerly known as Santa Maria Rezzonico) lies on the western shore of Lake Como (known also as Lario), on the southern slopes of Mount Bregagno. Cremia is to the north of San Siro and Menaggio/Plesio to the south. It is built on the slopes of a promontory, above which, towers a 14th century castle. The name Rezzonico may originate from the Rhaetic people who lived here, from “Rhaeto”, an Etrurian captain who lived in the area or from the local term “risciulada” which indicates the cobblestone paving so typical of this village. There are many things to see in San Siro; churches, ruins of ancient convents and fortresses along cobblestone paths and nature walks that take you up into the hills.
