Situated in the rural department of the Correze Villas de Leypinas offers a quiet retreat with historic attractions and activities for the adventurous close by. The 3 villas have been created in restored farm buildings each with its own character. Access is via a private driveway. Each villa has a private, shaded terrace with table, chairs and a barbecue overlooking the large gardens and the Correzien countryside. There is a 12m x 5m saltwater pool.
We decided to leave the UK in 2003 and spent the following 12 months backpacking around the world. France was always our first choice of countries in which to settle and so, in 2005 we bought a farm complex here in the Correze. The first 18 months were spent creating our holiday accommodation then we set up a small building business to fund the next part of our dream. We are currently renovating our house and barn with a view to offering B&B in 2013.
The Owner purchased this barn in 2005
Our criteria when looking for a place to create our home and business were, remote but not isolated, accessible but quiet, traditional buildings and community. Our small hamlet of Leypinas is in the commune of Saint Pardoux Corbier, our arrival pushed the population up to 351! Amazing considering we're less than an hour from Brive and Limoges airports and only a short drive away from the A20 autoroute! We find our new neighbours extremely friendly, we couldn't have been made more welcome and are made to feel very much part of the community.
It is a lovely, quiet rural setting but everything is close by, shops, bars and restaurants are 6 Km away. Locally we also have lovely picturesque villages and are within day trip distance to the highlights of the Dordogne but without the crowds! There is fishing, horse riding, karting, canoeing available close by for the more active. The stunning race course and its national stud are at Pompadour only 7 Km away. Tourism is still in its infancy in this area of France but there's a very friendly 'energy' during the summer. The weekly evening farmers market in our village represents all that is good about this region, good food, music and a very friendly atmosphere!

On arrival at Villas de Leypinas, we were welcomed by the owners, Jacqui and Dave, who provided a guide tour of our gite and the facilities available within the complex.
The accommodation was exactly what we had hoped for when we booked, in that it was spacious, clean and well decorated throughout, the kitchen was well equipped and the bed comfortable. Throughout our two week stay, we ate all our meals on the patio and enjoyed barbeques most evenings.
When booking, we new the location was rural and traditional France and we weren't disappointed. The surrounding countryside was stunning and we took long walks, taking in local villages along quiet lanes and around lakes. We also took time to visit places of interest within easy reach, such as Collonges la Rouge, Curemonte and Turenne, reputedly three of the prettiest villages in France, Oradour- sur-Glane, the martyred village, Pompadour, the equestrian centre and National Stud, the Sunday market at Objat and the nearest cities of Limoges and Brive la Gaillard. On days when we were just looking to relax, we just lazed around the pool. Any concerns we had about proximity to supermarkets were dispelled, when we found the local Super U and Lidl's stores were only a 10 minute drive and the Carrefour Hypermarket near Limoges about 25 minute.
Jacqui and Dave living on the complex was a major plus, in that their helpfulness and advice, friendliness, flexibility and enthusiasm for their guests to enjoy their holiday was amazing. Their philosophy of continual improvement and upgrading the facilities was impressive. During our holiday, they replaced the pool umbrellas, upgraded the television in our gite so we could watch Euro 2016 and had furniture delivered for the newly built sundeck, so that guests could sit comfortably while enjoying each others company and a drink, whilst watching the sun go down, as did we on our last two evenings.
It's little wonder, that during our stay Villas de Leypinas was awarded a 4* rating, the first in the area.
The whole package is first class and we would have no hesitation in recommending this property to our friends and relatives.
