About the property

Fantastic location, close to Jandri Express, just a short walk & no need to catch a bus or the car. You can ski back to the apartment

Refurbished inside and out, includes a brand new kitchen from November 2015 with a full size oven, microwave, Hob, extractor fan and under shelf fridge. Located next to the 'luge' chairlift and nursery slopes and only 2 minutes (flat) walk from the main Jandri express lift giving you access to the whole mountain as well as the Belle Etoile chairlift. During Winter, you can ski back to the door. It is a 1st floor apartment with a lift, stairs and has private car parking. It is fully equipped and has a bath with good shower and separate wc. Comfortable Full size double sofabed in the lounge and bunk beds in the entrance hallway separated from the lounge by a door. Secure ski locker in the basement for equipment storage. Due to the resort's high altitude, skiing is available all year round. Deux Alpes also has the largest snow park in Europe. The resort has a lot to offer people of all ages both during the Winter and Summer seasons. It has a large resident community who are extremely welcoming and friendly. There are lots of good restaurants and bars, nightclubs for the younger age group, all round a great resort.

Winter: skiing, boarding, walking, glacier. Les Deux Alpes isn’t just about skiing, if skiing isn't for you then there are a host of alternative activities to cater for every taste, from the exhilaration of Parapente (Paragliding) and snow biking, to holistic treatment in the tanking center. From exploring the ice caves to supping Vin Chaude with your friends.

Travel:

Nearest airports are Lyon and Grenoble with regular flights from all the UK airports to both. Bus links from both airports plus car hire available. You could be at the resort in under 2 hours from Lyon. You could also fly to Chambery, St Etienne, Geneva, Chambery and Turin. Les Deux Alpes is approximately 7-8 hour drive from Calais and easily accessible by car.

Distances:

The apartment is centrally located in Les Deux Alpes but for those who don't want to ski every day, you can take the local cable car down to a beautiful Olde Worlde cobbled artisan village of Venosc - well worth a trip. Local markets at Mont de Lans (2 kms) and Bourg D'Oisans (20kms) where there is an interesting array of shops and restaurants.

Further Details:

Your ski pass covers the nearby resorts of Alpe D'Huez (6 minute helicopter ride available) and Serre Chevalier and Puy St Vincent. More than enough ski-ing for any enthusiast! For advanced off-piste skiing try the descent to La Grave from the top of the 2 alpes glacier - its a winter wonderland, unspoiled and amazing.

Notes on accommodation: Ideal for families as children can play outside on the nursery slopes and you can see them from the balcony. The best location with no hills or steps to climb. Non-smoking apartment. No pets. Outside: Private car park with secure barrier. We have a lockable ski locker in the basement for the safe-keeping of your equipment. The interior of the apartment was fully refurbished last season and this Summer the exterior of the block has been refurbished with new balconies and totally painted and renovated. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: You will be contacted in advance and met in the resort by our very helpful English speaking keyholder. Bedlinen 10 euros per person and towels 5 euros per person.

Excellent location, small, clean.

Initially good value. Excellent communication from owner. Easy to book. Excellent location. Great view. Clean. Adequate. A little small for 4 people. Not enough storage space. We love les deux alpes and had a fabulous holiday but we're a little disappointed with the apartment manager's expectations. The first problem was to receive an email 14 days pre arrival telling us that we would need to pay *** euro deposits (not allowed to disclose sum) and ** euros each for bedding and *euros each for towels. This wasn't listed in the original pricing and was a big surprise. On arrival the bedding was folded in a pile and we had to make up our own beds. One day we couldn't open the door as the under bunk drawer wouldn't close enough to allow the door to open. On investigation we found lengths of wood stored under the bed behind the drawers had fallen in such a way that the drawer was stuck out. It took at least 5 mins to remove all the wood to enable the drawers to close. In the event of a fire we would have had no chance. We were told the deposit would be returned if the apartment was as clean as when we arrived when we left. We would have expected to tidy on departure but didn't expect to have to do a full clean on the last day of the holiday. To make things clear she had even left a list spelling out what items should be cleaned eg, toilet, especially under the seat! What is the apartment management company paid for??!! When leaving she came to inspect the property and we really felt that we were being held to ransom. Our deposit was returned as we had worked hard but we were told that the microwave door had fingerprints on it! An amazing week in an amazing resort was just a little marred at the end. I doubt that I would have booked this if i'd known about all the extra costs and the chores.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed the resort. It is a fantastic place both in the winter and in the summer with an endless list of activities to take part in. We are somewhat a little surprised and disappointed with some of the comments you have written. In the description of the apartment, on the Owners Direct website, we have taken great care to ensure that we have listed all the information to enable you to have a great stay. For example, it is clearly marked that a set deposit is required on arrival and that linen and towels are an optional extra. We do have guests that like to bring their own linen. We have also stipulated in the notes that as long as the apartment is returned in the same condition as it was found in at the beginning of the holiday then there is no cleaning charge. This is a standard practise in rental properties in general. In terms of the lengths of the timber behind the bunk beds, this has never been an issue for anyone and has not prevented anyone opening or closing the door. We have, however, taken note of this and will remove the timber to ensure that this cannot happen.

Lovely quaint little apartment with all one would need for a short break. Easy to locate and great to be able to ride up to front door of Les Alberges, private car park was very handy. I had a wonderful time and I'm already looking forward to booking it again next year. Kind regards Jason

Great Location

It had snowed during our trip to Les Deux Alps and we managed to get stuck in the snow approx 2 kms from Les Deux. We phoned Sarah, the property manager, and she organised a jeep to come and tow us to Les Deux Alps. Sarah could not have been more helpful during our stay. The apartment was ideally located on the Main Street close to Shops, Ski Lifts, Bars and Restaurants. We had a great weekend and really enjoyed our stay.

Résidence très bien située à quelques pas des pistes, des locations de skis et d'une supérette : tout est à portée de main.

L'appartement est petit mais bien organisé, en très bon état, avec tous les équipements nécessaires pour y faire la cuisine.

Please note that all fees are included. Meet and greet from our very organised english speaking keyholder. A security deposit of €350 is due on arrival to the keyholder. No smoking and no pets inside the apartment.
Arrivals after 21:00hrs incurs a €20 charge payable on arrival
Departures prior to 07:00hrs incurs a €20 payable on departure.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is normally Saturday but we are flexible during non peak times - just ask!

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. We also accept payment in Euros.
Bedlinen & towels provided at 15 euros per person. Cleaning is included in the cost of the rental as long as the apartment is returned in the same condition as it is on your day of arrival.
Discount available for long Summer lets. Ski passes, lesson, off piste guiding, equipment hire, helicopter and skidoo rides can all be arranged, payable locally.
