Large luxury detached Villa Riya recently built is set amongst the exquisite backdrop of beautiful clean countryside and mountains in a 585 sq.m of land with a 30x13ft private pool and a small children's pool. Own car park space. Views from the large gardens/patio area, and the generous balconies across the valley floor onto the mountains, are simply stunning. This is a wonderful setting for a relaxing away from it all holiday to recharge the batteries and top up the tan, and if you can tear yourself away, an excellent base for a far more active holiday with key attractions such as Taurus Mountains Saklikent Gorge, Tilos, Fethiye, Hisaronu, Oludeniz, Calis and Patara Beach all being within easy distance by dolmus or by car. Less than 10 mins walk from the traditional village town of Seydikemer with a variety of local facilities including 24 hour doctors, chemist, medical clinic, banks, Post Office, Internet cafes, shops local restaurants and open air market every Friday.
We live in England, have grown up children and are proud grandparents. My husband works full time; I was forced into taking early retirement due to government cuts. this is just as well as I get to spend more time with my grandchildren and do gardening (but sometimes miss the money)!
We take holidays to Seydikemer whenever we can.
Herjiven purchased this villa in 2007
We had never been to turkey until 2004 when we booked a last minute deal and simply loved it there.
We went back the following year and met some others who had bought a place around this area, not intending to buy one ourselves! But we did just that! And have never looked back. We fell in love with Seydikemer area because it offered a real taste of Turkey, away from tourist areas but near enough to get to places. We really like the countryside that offers lovely cool breeze in the hot months and enjoy the fantastic views. The locals are very friendly and helpful. It's our grandchildren's favourite holiday destination & we love returning here as much as we can.
'Kemer village' has now officially been given a 'Town' status and named as 'Seydikemer'. This has led to lot more facilities and improved roads in and around the town. The local canal is being developed to add children's boating, new cafes and restaurants. This is due to be completed by summer of 2016. The good thing is that these new developments are not impacting on the 'rural' feel of the area, but are creating more choice for local facilities.
Our property enjoys unique corner position and fantastic open panoramic views. Having our own private pool, sun beds and umbrellas means there is no need to rush out and place towels to secure a place by the pool! Exclusive use of whole property offers great freedom; eat, relax, sunbath, swim at leisure. Air con in all rooms.
Our property is very child and family friendly; highchair and cot available. Quiet location, very little traffic. we've tried to make it 'home-from-home' in terms of provisions for use. E.g., microwave, toaster, f/freezer, family dish washer, dishes and lots more. Villa is great for, family and friends and over 50's holidays.
Shops, banks, internet cafes and eating places within walking distances. You can also have food delivered to the villa.
Very good public bus transport service to visit places and sights. Check it out, take a look at all the photos and book it for a fab holiday.
Here are some comments from those who stayed in our villa:
'We came here with great expectations after looking at the pictures and details, on arrival we found our expectations exceeded, the villa is in a fantastic location, new, spacious, clean and very well placed for both relaxing and active holiday. We found people around here very friendly, particularly next door English retired couple Jill and Ray very helpful. Hiring a jeep was definitely a good way to explore the fantastic places and sights around this area, some were so near like the thermal spring and cave only 10 minutes and Tilos a must see. We also hired bikes to explore the countryside. Our 2 daughters 11 and 17 also enjoyed this holiday immensily. We would definitely return.' - Christine and Gordon.
'Fantastic villa, very clean and pleasent, brilliant views, easy to get around by using dolmus, though we did hire a car for week too. Would definately recommend it and would return.' - David, Preston.
We recently returned from a fantastic holiday in Kemer - we didn't want to leave. The villa is set in a fabulous location about 5 minutes walk from the village and has amazing views. We alternated between pool days and days out. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and it is very easy and cheap to travel by dolmus (we didn't bother renting a car). We went to Feithye several times - great shops and restaurants, went to the beach at Calais on the water taxi, had an absolutely amazing day at Saklikent gorge where we all went gorge rafting, had a mud bath, chilled out in the hammocks and swam in the pool. Another great day out was the all day boat trip from Feithye (grand Burak boat) - lovely lunch and plenty of time to snorkel in the warm waters. Most evenings we cooked on the villa BBQ (meat very cheap in the village) and enjoyed watching the sun set. A few times we ate at Kemer's Esinti Restaurant, which again has amazing views - quite a walk up a steep hill to get there though, but definetely worth it.
The owners of the villa were extremely helpful when I contacted them about several things prior to our departure and returned our deposit promptly on our return. The couple next door are English and are absolutely lovely. Surrogate grandparents to my two children while we were there. They went out of their way to welcome us and advise us on different things.
The property itself is clean and spacious, with three balconies, all with great views, though it could benefit from some new garden furniture and better outdoor lighting and there is no wifi.
All in all though it is a great place, especially if you want a truly peaceful holiday away from the crowds. Loved it!!!
This is lovely roomy villa on the edge of a very "Turkish" village. The villa is ideally situated about 1/2 mile from Kemer where you can shop for most things - the Friday market is great for local produce - there are a couple of restaurants that are welcoming & serve a good selection of Turkish & tourist dishes. The Turkish people are generally very friendly & helpful.
The facilities in the villa are good & the space is great for a family group. The pool & garden was very welcome, especially after walks in the surrounding countryside or to the village.
The attractions of Fethiye, Oludenez, Kalkan etc are an easy drive away & the drive from the airport is completely painless; dual carriageway for all but the last mile or two into the village.
We liked: Kalkan for the shopping, Patara beach, the Olive Garden at Kabak (it's a bit of a drive but more than worth it), Saklikent gorge & river rafting, SCUBA diving from Fethiye harbour (such good value), Tlos, Quad biking, the Estini (not sure about the spelling) restaurant, the local people & the Villa!
We hated: Leaving.
Oludeniz (40 min) is the most photographed beach in Turkey and is known as the 'gem of the Turquoise coast'. Many restaurants and shops as well as good range of water sports. A highlight is paragliding.
Patara Beach is about 45 mins drive, boasting 18km of pure sand. It is a national park area including ancient ruins, small entrance fee payable, well worth it.
Calis Beach 20 min restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, Sultan Aqua City aqua park 5 min from this beach
Dalaman Airport is just under an hour by car, if you would like help with arranging transfers or would like to hire a car that will be delivered to the villa let us know. Guests arriving at late hours will be provided with a free basic welcome pack.
Within walking distances (under 10 minutes) to the village town and the hill top Esinti bar restaurant & cafe, shops, and 15min walk to the newly opened additional food stores.
Dolmus (minibuses) run every 15 minutes in summer and half hour in winter to Fethiye and other places. Other distances: too many to list here, would also depend on interest, some are mentioned in the further details below.
Kemer village town offers selection of shops, and open air market every Friday to meet most of your catering requirements, whilst offering you the opportunity to purchase clothing, household goods and gifts. You can also enjoy the local Turkish cuisine at an array of small restaurants. For more varied menu, visit the hill top Esinti restaurant boasting panoramic views, or the one located at the canal-side in the charming village square. Both of these have licensed bars.
Places to visit:
Beaches mentioned earlier. Hisaronu, 10 mins from Fethiye, a holiday resort nestling in the mountains above Oludeniz, packed with shops, restaurants bars and discos.
Saklikent Gorge is just 20 minute by bus from Kemer village town where you can whizz down the river on a rubber ring stopping for a mud bath on the way or walk up the long gorge through the cooling waters. There are few restaurants on a platform over the river to enjoy a cool drink or freshly caught trout and other cuisine as well as Turkish pancakes. You can choose to stay overnight in the tree houses suspended high above the banks of the river and arrange dinner and breakfast. Buy souvenirs and other goods at the stalls around the river bank, and find good clean toilets.
Tlos 15 mins, the ruins offer spectacular views over the valley that date from the Lycians, through Greeks and Romans to the 15th Century. The site includes graves built into the rock side, an amphitheatre and a racetrack. Up beyond the ruins there are restaurants – one of which has a bar with trout swimming in a pool of icy water.
Fethiye 20 min the nearest main coastal town, a bustling working town with harbour. Here, you can book boat trips leaving daily including the 12 Island Boat trip. The harbour is lined with restaurants and stalls, and a huge choice in the town for shopping and eating, including a fish market where you can buy fresh fish and one of the local lakantas will cook it to your liking. The main bus station is in Fethiye to many destinations.
