Registered with the Andalucia Tourist Board (Vivienda Turistica de Alojamiento Rural: VTAR/GR/01811), Casa Bonita is a traditional Spanish country house and is in the small hamlet of La Realenga de Agicampe. There are neighbouring similar houses, some of which are still used as small holdings by Spanish families with some having various types of fowl and chickens. The views are spectacular, overlooking olive groves to the front and back and further towards the Sierra Nevada mountains and its famous world cup ski resort. The house is convenient for both Granada Airport (30 minutes) and Malaga Airport (70 minutes), numerous airlines fly into Malaga from all over the world and is well serviced by both Ryanair and Easyjet, whilst Granada Airport has flights from Manchester, London Gatwick and London City Airport. The coast of the Costa Tropical is approx 60 minutes away whilst the Costa del Sol is also approx 60 minutes away. Ideal for exploring rural Spain and the large cities of Granada, Seville and Cordoba with their rich history and amazing architecture, most notably the Alhambra Palace in Granada and the Mezquita in Cordoba.

We are a professional couple, who once our children were old enough, decided to buy our dream holiday home. Allan is an architect and designed the improvements to the house alongside a local Spanish architect. This collaboration leads to Casa Bonita having modern facilities, including air conditioning within all bedrooms and wi-fi, whilst at the same time retaining the Spanish style of the house. The house is constantly being upgraded to suit needs or suggestions made by guests and so is improving all the time. We visit Casa Bonita as often as possible, and find it more and more difficult to leave every time we visit.

Why Owner chose Loja
We bought Casa Bonita for 2 main reasons, firstly because it is situated in a very peaceful rural area where it is easy to unwind and relax. Secondly, the house is simple, easy to understand and when initially purchased needed a complete reform which meant we could refurbish it as required to suit our needs and the needs of our guests, without losing the inherent Spanish feel. The area of the Granada Provence offers visitors a wide variety of opportunities to enjoy everything the Spain has to offer, culture, history, nature, country living, flaura and forna, and is also within easy reach of the Costa Tropical and Costa Del Sol, for time at the beach.
What makes this Cottage unique
Casa Bonita offers tranquillity in a countryside setting, but yet is only a 10 minute drive from Loja, a large town which has all the amenities you would require, and only 5 minutes drive from Huetar Tajar a smaller town but again with all amenities needed. The large swimming pool (4m x 8m approx) is ideal for cooling down during the hot summer days and nights and also forms the focal point of the house. There is also free Wi-Fi within the house for all those essential social media contacts and photo sharing. The ample terraces allow sun worshippers to follow the sun all day until it finally sets behind the hills. The large roof terrace is the perfect place for that evening night cap and to watch the abundant local wild life and to see the Sierra Nevada mountains glow pink at sunset or, for early risers, watch the sun rise from behind the mountains ready for another perfect day. Within an hour you can be in the centre of the historic city of Granada, or within about 1 1/2 hours sunning yourself on a beach at the coast, that is if you can tear yourself away from the house and it's pool and it's ample terraces on which to relax.

Perfect! Lovely rural home!
Casa Bonita is a lovely home in a lovely peaceful, quiet rural location.
The house is a perfect home from home and is equipped with everything that you would need. The air conditioning in the bedrooms was much needed in order to sleep comfortably. The house was very clean and tidy on arrival. As others have mentioned the outside area is very spacious with lots of space to spread out or to sit together and socialise. Our party ranged from 19 years old up to 76 years old and there was something for everyone in the house (free Wi-Fi definitely a boon!). The second fridge in the sunroom was perfect for storing cold drinks for during the day. There are a lot of steps so if you have very young children or are infirm they will be managed with care (we had no problems!)
Our correspondence with the Allan could not be better and the directions to the house were simple and easy to follow! We flew in to Malaga and flew home from Granada. A hire car is a definite requirement. Mick was really helpful on arrival at Casa Bonita and gave us good advise regarding the pool/gas bottles as well as the migrating birds that we saw overhead most days (we saw a few Golden Eagles and buzzards fly overhead).
The property is in an ideal location for exploring this part of Andalucía. Whilst in quite a rural setting the motorway network is only about 10 minutes drive away for easy access to explore the region. We visited Cordoba, Granada a couple of times (tried to get football tickets but the Granada club website was not taking online bookings at the time), the Tropical Coast (Nerja Caves worth a visit and La Herradurra was nice although a stony beach) and the Sierra Nevada Mountains by car and we travelled to Seville by train from Loja.
The local town, Heutor Tajar, has everything you need in terms of banks, pharmacies, shopping etc. and Loja is also well worth a visit.
The house met all our expectations and we would not hesitate in recommending it to others.
We intend to return as there is still much more to explore!

The property was as described and looked just like in the photos.
Upon arrival at Casa Bonita we were blown away by the amount of space. The outside space is just amazing. With 3 choices of outside dining areas our biggest problem was deciding where to eat! Our grown up daughter and boyfriend visited for part of our stay, plenty of car parking on the quiet roadside and so much space in the property to offer privacy.
The landing stairs may not be ideal for small children unless supervised.
Mick was very helpful with local knowledge, such as best place to park in Granada and Also gave us advice on topping up the pool.
Sitting out on the first floor terrace late into the night soaking up the warmth and the peace was a good end to each day.
We are very active holidaymakers and found the road network to be excellent and never had to travel for much more then an hour to find beautiful and interesting places to visit.
Would recommend Casa Bonita but be prepared to dine at home or drive as this property is in a rural location with just a few neighbours.

This is an excellent property with all possible amenities you could want. Although you have neighbours, you'd never know it (apart from the odd crowing cockerel!), and it's extremely peaceful. Only one small reservation - if you are a guest unsteady on your feet the ups and downs of the steps within the property might cause a problem. Despite that, highly recommended and a lovely spot in Andalusia.

Peaceful location and excellent facilites
This was not our first visit to the area but our first stay at Casa Bonita. First impressions of the property were promising and we were proved correct. The villa is very spacious. Even though there was 6 of us we never felt on top of each other. The best parts were the sun room (good for the in-laws to cool down in when it got hot in the afternoon), the outside kitchen with the impressive BBQ and obviously the pool. The children basically lived in the pool for a fortnight! Other nice touches was the beer and wine in the fridge waiting for us, the ipod speaker which could be used outside and the extra 2 fridges situated in the sun room - an excellent place to store all your drinks! Also the air con in the bedrooms enabled us all to sleep well. Location wise it is only a 15 min walk into La Fabrica where there are 2 bars - Panilla was a favorite of ours where every round of drinks was accompanied by free tapas. We made the mistake of having a few drinks the first night then ordering from the menu...too much food! We were lucky to be staying at Casa Bonita when La Fabrica were holding their annual celebrations. We saw bands playing live and the locals created a 'foam party' for the children...my kids loved it and was made to feel really welcome by the locals. The town of Heutor Tajar was basically unremarkable but functional. It had a decent size supermarket which stocked everything we needed. We also visited Loja further down the motorway and Granada a couple of times - only 30/40 mins away in the car. Highly recommended!!

Another relaxing trip
This was our third time in six years at this Villa which says it all. Although rural, it is 10 minutes from the Motorway which will take you to places such as Granada, Seville, Rhonda and Cordoba. During our time we have been to all of these and they all offer something different. Beaches are not our thing, but they are still only a short distance away. There is an excellent private pool with ample shaded areas, and a sun room where the kids particularly enjoyed relaxing on the comfortable sofas. If you fancy a short walk, the village of La Fabrica is worth going to for some drinks and tapas.The Villa is a good size in comparison to many, benefiting from recent upgrades, including the addition of air conditioning in the three bedrooms. The Upper terrace is accessible from all the bedrooms which is perfect for the late night caps and looking over the mountains. We have stayed in lots of villas over the years but this is the only one we keep returning to. An added bonus is the availability of Mick who lives just down the road and looks after the Villa very well. He offers excellent guidance on places to go and things to do.

Nearest beach at Salobrena (approx 1 hours drive). This is a less commercialised shale beach where Spanish families go to relax. Costa Tropical and Costa del Sol are approx. a 1 hours drive away..
Granada airport (30 mins drive) and Malaga airport (70 mins drive). Car hire essential. The house is accessed via a tarmaced country lane, no need for 4WD, normal cars are more than adequate.
15 mins walk to local village of La Fabrica. Local town, Heutor Tajar, 5 mins drive. Larger town, Loja, 10 mins drive. Granada city, 40 mins drive.
Supermarkets are accessed in Loja and Huetor Tajar. Usual opening times are from 9.30am-9.30pm, they are closed for siesta during 2-5.30pm and all day Sunday. However, the Mercadona supermarkets in the centre of Loja and Huetor Tajar stay open during siesta. Local fiestas mean there may be time changes to shop hours, details may be found through local tourist information offices. There are 2 bars in the local village, La Fabrica which is approximately a 15 minutes walk from the house and a further 2 bars at the end of the lane, all bars serve tapas with your alcoholic drinks, and the 2 bars in La Fabrica serve excellent, if basic, food. In Loja there is a fairly new very well cared for Olympic sized outdoor swimming pool and 2 smaller children's pools, approx 3 euros entrance fee with sun beds for hire at 1 euro. There is also a smaller public pool in Huetor Tajar with a new sports centre and gym. In Loja there are numerous restaurants, with Restaurant Alacena being one of the best with a good range of dishes including locally famous pizzas. Further afield is Alhama de Granada with it's hot springs and spas, approx 30 mins drive. Feel free to walk through the olive groves that surround the house, and look out for the abundant wildlife that live in the fields.
The area of the Poniente Granadino is in the centre of Andalusia and is located inland between the city of Malaga on the one side and the city of Granada and the Sierra Nevada on the other side. Its strategic situation means that the traveler can visit several major historical centers of Andalusia in single day trips. The Poniente Granadino is well located to visit the highlights in Andalusia: Sevilla, Cordoba, Ronda, Sierra Nevada, the Alpujarras, Malaga, the Costa del Sol and of course, the city of Granada with the beautiful Arabian palaces and gardens of the Alhambra.
