Although this review only shows against Il Giardino, other members of the family stayed in Bella Vista. The location of Villa Sofia is superb with panoramic views from all aspects. Set on a quiet single track road it is easy to reach by car. The view from both of our terraces was outstanding looking over mountains, one of the nicest views we have had. Il Giardino has ample cooking facilities. The owners who were on site for most of the holiday were very helpful and really easy to get on with but never intrusive. This was our second holiday in Barga and this was the best. The walk into Barga old town and it's ample choice of restaurants is as described and takes 10 minutes, the track is uneven and at night a torch is essential, we walked into Barga 11 of the nights we were there. The pool area although shared is secure for small children and there are ample comfortable sunbeds and a lovely covered area. The views from the pool area are even better than those from the apartments. All in all if we return to Barga, this is where would stay.
