Large, Welcoming Gatlinburg Mountain Home

  • 5 of 5

I had read all of the reviews for this home and must say that I agree with all of the 5 star reviews totally - this house is a beautiful, very large home that's perfect for an extended family vacation or other group - with different levels for each family or group of people and a large kitchen/dining room and living room for everyone to gather in. Enough dishes and silverware for a crowd; large decks with a hot tub on one; a jacuzzi - what more could you ask for? How about the view? It's overlooking downtown Gatlinburg - we were there for the fireworks display on New Year's Eve and we had the perfect viewing area on the deck. This is a lovely home and we thank the owners for sharing it with us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Chalet ! Beautiful cabin and we were so pleasantly surprised by how well stocked it was! It was very convenient to Gatlinburg, although we didn't walk, there is parking right at the bottom of the hill . I definitely would recommend it and would stay there again!

Nice stay

  • 4 of 5

I'm giving this cabin a 4 out of 5 simply because we had some needs that we had difficulty meeting because of the layout and location of the house. Overall, the house is very clean and well decorated. It's an older home, but you can tell a lot of work has been put into keeping it current. There are plenty of towels and other necessities. Also, the big kids love having their own room. The check in/out process is awesome, because we go directly through the owner. The parking is tight but there are three spots, which is nice.

The other reviews are a little misleading, because they don't really tell you that 2 of the bedrooms are up a set of impossibly difficult stairs. We had small children and a handicapped person in our party and these were difficult to maneuver, even scary at times. Getting luggage up there is a nightmare. There is a bedroom on the main living floor, which is good for handicapped folks, but it's weird because you have to go through that bedroom to get to the only bathroom on that floor. Otherwise you have to go either upstairs or downstairs. Our handicapped person also had to go down 2 sets of stairs to the laundry. The mattresses are VERY firm, which of course is a matter of taste. The other reviews also act like downtown is right out the back door. You certainly could walk, but it's too far for small kids and handicapped people. We still had to drive and pay to park.

Our time here was wonderful. The cabin has everything you need. There's tons of stuff to do in town, and in the surrounding area and this place is very convenient to that. It has a comfy and homey feel and I would recommend it to others.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. The property was designed by an architect to adapt to a steep mountain side near downtown Gatlinburg and has three levels accessed from Turkey Nest Road in two locations, the upper parking area (two parking spaces) and the lower parking area ( two or three auto spaces or one church bus space). The master bedroom and bath are located on the main floor along with the kitchen, dining room, living room and two outside decks. The entrance to the main floor is from the upper parking area with one step up. A set of stairs go down from the main floor to the lower level. The lower level has two bedrooms, a den, a bathroom off the hall, a washer and dryer, an outside entrance to the lower parking area and two outside decks. The upper level is accessed from the main level by a one person alternating stair and has a bedroom with bathroom and another bedroom. The property is a convenient walk on a sidewalk (1/2 mile) or trolley ride to downtown Gatlinburg. The trolley stop is approximately 75 yards from the property. VRBO and the property website has a detailed description of the facility and several photos.

Great place!

We enjoyed this home very much. It is very comfortable with nice furnishings. Definitely a "cut above". The two loft bedrooms are best accessed by agile people, though. I would definitely stay there again, lots of room for our family of nine.

Nicest place i've stayed in Gatiliburg/Pigeon Forge area

  • 5 of 5

I agree with the other reviews that the pictures just don't do it justice. I've used VRBO for years and pics often just don't show the things that are less quality. I'm usually a little disappointed but when I go back and see pics they are accurate but misleading. This is NOT the case with this house. It was like being in a tree house. The views are great. It just has a special feeling about it. The bedrooms are much bigger than they look. We took our church youth group of 8 teenagers. I was able to separate boys (upstairs) and girls (downstairs). What you don't see in these pictures is this house had wood floors and ceramic tiles in all spaces, Large flat screen TVs (most say flat screen but are very small). Both living spaces have large TVs, 4 of the bedrooms have TVs (only one that doesn't is the small one with the twins). Everyone loved the house and the parking was very easy too. The owners were great to work with. There's also very NICE towels and linens. That's something that most rentals scale back on or don't even include. And there were paper products. That may seem like a small thing but most rentals don't include these. Trust me you will love this house and your experience there.

Pictures don't do it justice!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful Gatlinburg home. Pictures posted don't do it really is beautiful with exquisite furnishings. Our party of 12 had plenty of room for privacy and the common areas were spacious enough to accomodate all of us when we needed to be together. My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary while there and the downstairs living room provided the perfect spot for our renewal ceremony. I believe we may have just found our perfect Gatlinburg get-away house for future trips! Thanks again for allowing us to enjoy it.
