About the property

Villa in Selva di Fasano,Puglia, Italy - Peaceful Location, 15mins drive to the Beach

Firstly just let me just say the photographs are authentic and perhaps do not give the full scale of how wonderful the views until you see them in person.

The villa is very well situated with easy access to the surrounding coastal and hilltop towns, you'll be amongst the elite holiday homeowners from Bari who choose this area in the hilltops to have their second homes.

A gastronomers delight, discover the hidden restaurants amongst the olive groves and vineyards in the local villages that are set up for the summer. Take long strolls then back to your private villa where you can watch the sun setting behind the hills with uninterrupted views.

Within a 10 min drive is Locorotondo, a historic hilltop town with a remarkable circular design with whitewashed houses and a large ‘cantina’ selling excellent local wine and a great selection of wonderful affordable restaurants. In the summer from mid-July until the end of August each weekend the town hosts a variety of world renowned international jazz and hip hop stars for free live performances with mostly local people in a wonderful outdoor setting.

Also very close by is the historic town of Alberobello a UNESCO heritage site is a unique and fascinating place to explore the thousands of trulli which are architecturally unique to this part of the country. (A must see).

Within 25 minutes is Martina Franca an elegant baroque town, Cisternino also famous for its gastronomy, and set up high upon a hilltop is the town of Ostuni known as the ‘White City’ as it glows day and night.

Nearby is Castellana Grotte famed as the most spectacular limestone caves in Italy, the archaeological ruins of Egnazia, and a Zoo Safari Park, ideal family fun.

Selva the local village has bars and restaurants that all come alive in spring, you'll find local specialities and is just a short stroll up the hill from the villa.

If its the beach you want then it's a 15-20 minute drive back down the hill to Savelletri, a small fishing village with an abundance of beachside restaurants, (you must try the locally caught fish served raw) and miles of coastline with gorgeous sandy beaches and coastal restaurants every 100 metres. So much to do and see and so little time.....

Alternatively sit at home and soak up the atmosphere....

About anthony carenza

we are a young married couple who live between London and Puglia. We have recently bought this villa and love staying here every opportunity we get. My wife Maria is a costume maker and I am a retired hairdresser looking for new challengers.

We are keen travellers and love eating out so this is area is perfect for us because of it's central location. Discovering this area and continuing to make improvements to our villa has become our new hobby and we count the moments before we can return from London. My family is originally from Turi which isn't far down the road so you could say I'm getting back to my roots and I'm lucky to have family so close by.

We love meeting new people and sharing our local knowledge and have all the time in the world to make your stay at our special place a memorable one.

anthony carenza purchased this villa in 2016

Why anthony carenza chose Brindisi

The villa is completely detached and set down a private road with very little thoroughfare traffic which adds to its tranquility and privacy. Enjoy absolute frontline undisturbed jaw dropping views over Pirro Valley and the stunning forest all whilst swimming in your private pool or lounging on your sunbeds on private terraces whilst watching the sunset each night. Local shops, bakeries and farms sell amazing locally produced wine cheeses and breads, also quality fish for b-b-q's on the terrace if you're staying in. I guarantee home is where you'll you want to be with the villa providing a fully equipped kitchen and all the desired necessities in house.

What makes this villa unique

The villa couldn't be more centrally located just kilometres from stunning historic local villages.

Must see villages: Alberobello, Locorotondo, Cisternino, Martina Franca, Ostuni.

A 15-20 minute scenic drive down the hill are the splendid beaches and seafood restaurants.

Walking distance from the villa there are local country restaurants, some set underneath grapevines and olive trees all selling locally produced wine and olive oil, then just a short walk back up the hill there is a local sleepy village that awakens in the spring and has great bars, coffee shops, supermarkets and botanical gardens.

We also have robust wifi 7MB (very rare) and a VPN which is accessible in all parts of the villa because of outdoor routers (also very rare) which will allow you to watch all your TV subscriptions (Sky Go, Netflix, BBC) on your personal laptop or the I Mac provided

Added security with a tall exterior wall surrounding the villa, also parking for a car within the villa with electric gates, more parking outside.

Gas Bar-b-q, washing machine, dishwasher and A/C.

Amazing location off the beaten track

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the villa. It's location is fabulous, the grounds well kept, the house is superclean with thoughtful little touches. Anthony, the host, is super nice, always available for whatever questions we had and he gave us lots of great recomendations for shopping, food and day trips.

We had a great time during the 2 weeks we stayed there!

A beautiful and cool villa where my family had an amazing holiday

  • 5 of 5

Anthony the owner was so helpful and lovely - telling us the best places to eat, the right beaches to visit and even taking us out on a boat trip.

The villa was spotlessly clean and totally comfortable. We loved his taste in furniture and art - very cool! All adding to an amazing holiday experience. Our teenage girls loved hanging by the pool listening to funky tunes on the sound system. There's so much to see and do in the area we will definitely be returning. We highly recommend this villa.

Superb Views, super outside space

  • 4 of 5

We had a really relaxing time at this well equipped villa, the views from the outside space are stunning as is the outside space. It is a little difficult to find and a detailed instruction from the main road would benefit. Anthony is a great character and very helpful.

Valley View Villa Selva fabulous stay

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Valley View Villa in July 2016, we had such a fabulous stay here, Anthony and Maria were amazing hosts, incredibly accommodating, guiding us towards the best beaches and restaurants.

We would not hesitate to recommend Valley View Villa, it is a paradise haven of tranquility, we absolutely loved it.

We felt right at home here, we stayed in the guest suite which was a real treat for us, beautifully decorated, with its own ensuite, located tucked away and hidden from the main house at the bottom of a beautifully landscaped pathway.

Valley View Villa is a contemporary villa set in the countryside of Selva di Fasano, it has been lovingly restored with all the modern comforts yet retaining the original soul of the original property, high on a hilltop with sweeping views of Selva di Fasano, this villa has glorious gardens and an idyllic terrace, making the most of the spectacular vista, the gleaming lap pool with its inviting sun loungers an ideal companion to soak up the rays. Inside, the main house is elegantly decorated in a neutral palette with crisp, clean lines.

This indulgent setting is perfectly poised for an idle, hedonistic getaway.

We cannot wait and look forward to our next stay.

Lovely relaxing week

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 had a lovely week in Puglia. The villa is as beautiful as the pictures and Anthony was an attentive and responsive host having the house and pool in immaculate condition with essential supplies - including wine! - for our arrival. We enjoyed the region including some lovely long cycle rides to neighbouring villages - Anthony assisted in our renting some good carbon-fibre road bikes. We took in some of the beaches and ate lovely food. We would heartedly recommend the villa and if you could spare two weeks, even better.

Puglia gets close to 300 days of sunshine a year with the warm weather starting in April and going right through until the end of October. The hottest months are July and August but with the high elevation the air does not feel too oppressive during these months, especially as the property is located on a hillside. Spring and autumn is glorious- sunny and warm with wild flowers in abundance. Italians are unashamedly devoted to celebrating everything Italian - religion, food, love, they show it with festivals, there's almost one a week in the summer celebrating everything from classical music to grapes. These family orientated events provide great free outdoor entertainment and gives you an insight into the wonderful hospitable Pugliese people. Puglia is something authentic and very Italian.
