About Dorothy

I have just relocated to the South of England from the remote West Highlands.where battling against the elements became a way of life. It was beautiful but remote,Loved it but the weather was just too much in the end. Now settled in Rustington on the South Coast. Delightful village close to good friends and an area I knew and loved. .

Dorothy purchased this villa in 2000

Why Dorothy chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

We started going to Florida over 25 years ago and during a bad hurricane one year, we had an mandatory evacuation from the island we were on, a friend rang and offered us her home for the weekend. Having always stayed in a condo complex We loved the privacy of our own pool and the outlook over the small lake. 6 months later she rung us to say she was selling we had first refusal. My husband did not hesitate the rest as they say is history. Sarasota has become my second home. The beaches are beautiful. I never get tired of finding new things to do. Restaurants, art galleries and theatres. St Armands circle, Main street, free concerts in the park. The Opera is a must do as is the Ballet company. Saturday market in Main street. An amazing eclectic City - Your only limitation is time.! sarasotavillaroy.com

What makes this villa unique

The house is in a very quiet safe residential area of Sarasota with wonderful neighbors. Yet it is central and convenient to the Malls, Beaches North or South, the Barrier Islands, Golf courses (10 within 10 minutes drive). The very large South facing patio area is perfect for dining Al Fresco or just snoozing after a day on the beach. There are many parks near by and one just a few minutes away The Urfer Family Park with swings etc for the children. The new link road thru Honore has lovely walking paths for you to get that little excercise you may want. Nearby Tennis courts are on a first come first served basis and are free.

The beaches are a 20 minute drive away with Lido being my favourite as you can park right by the beach and not have too far to carry your chairs etc. Siesta of course is world famous.

Thank you for the opportunity to rent your villa. We thoroughly enjoyed your home and all it has to offer. Golf courses were plentiful and good value. We all had a lovely time in Sarasota lazing on the beaches of Lido Key and Siesta key. Steve

We absolutely loved the villa. What a lovely lovely place. We felt instantly at home there and it was just heaven lazing around the pool after 2 weeks in the theme parks of Orlando. We were also lucky enough to see a couple of the gorgeous Sarasota sunsets at Siesta Key. What an amazing sight. We fell in love with that place! Just paradise. We were very sorry that we didn't have longer at your villa. Nikki

Just leaving Sarasota. We've had a fantastic time in your very beautiful villa many thanks Mark.

Just a quick note to say how much we have enjoyed our months holiday in sunny Sarasota, the villa has been far more than our expectations. Don and Denise ,

Lovely property, very homely and comfortable. Our daughter loved the pool and with the sun on it all day she did t want to leave. Fully stocked with all the home comforts and extras in the garage for the beach. Will definitely come back 👍

Owner's Response: Thank you for the positive review. As it is my base for a number of months of the year it is a home. We rented for years and were dismayed when we had to buy glasses or mugs as there was nothing in the properties. Recognising that these holidays cost a lot of money. I want for my guests what I expect when I rent. A lot of towels, kitchen essentials etc and good things for the beach. Please do come back and join the many returners I have built up over the years. - Dorothy

Sarasota Stay

  • 4 of 5

We arrived to find the property beautifully set out and very clean, all extras had been left to make the stay more comfortable, with lots of little extras left to help with washing, dishwasher, pool toys, beach chairs, cool boxes Etc. and more towels than you could ever need.

The house had some lovely books about the areas and a very comprehensive folder of all sorts of information and reviews which made getting around and finding lovely restaurants simple.

Everything was just as in the photos with a very comfortable lounge area with big TV (live Premiership football on channel 71 much to my husbands delight!), all bedrooms were very nice and cool with the AC, but the best bit was the pool area, fantastic big warm pool with lots of room around it then a huge BBQ in the corner so you could BBQ inside the pool area while the children swam it was the nicest pool area of all the of the properties we stayed at.

House was in a great location for the Freeway to get in and out of town with easy drives to the restaurants, beach and tourist areas, also very near the shops needed, I would recommend the Publix supermarket 3 minutes away.

The owners were very helpful and dealt with all payments and the retuning of deposit very quickly. We would rent this house again.

What a Gem!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a wonderful week in your lovely villa. We have stayed in many, many villas in Florida over the past 18 years and this was the first time that we hadn't had to stock up on basics, from washing up liquid to salad dressings and relishes. What a bonus.

The house is beautifully kept and clean, the pool area a delight, with plenty of sun loungers and enough shade to keep the hot Florida sun off us if we so desired. The pool was heated to perfection and the outlook over the lake was delightful. Another bonus for us was the efficiency of the wifi.

Many thanks for the information you sent us regarding location and local restaurants. Yoders for breakfast was just perfect.

Dream location, not too far from beach and you were a delightful, helpful owner. Perfect.

I could go on and on but am afraid that if I do, there won't be a spare week or so for us when we want to return!!! 😎
