Le Schuss apartment has stunning views and is situated in the beautiful village of La Grande Terche, right next to the main ski lift - it provides the perfect winter or summer escape.

Apartment Location:

- Check us out on Google Maps!! Type in 'La Grande Terche' and press the 'Street View' picture. You can see the ESF office & Piou Piou building, we're the apartment block to the right: top left balcony!! You can see the main ski lift station to the left of ESF.

- Right next to main ski lift (30 metres) with access to 40km of runs and you can ski right up to the apartment.

- Bars, restaurants, supermarket, ski hire are all 30 seconds walk from the apartment.

- We're 10 minutes drive from the linked area of Portes Du Soliel (largest in the world, 650km of runs).

Getting there / about:

- Geneva transfer is about an 1 hr 15.

- Regular bus link to Morzine and Les Gets via St Jean D'Aulps, but a car is preferable.

Nearby in the Summer:

- Swimming pool in Morzine (10 mins drive).

- Golf (in Les Gets) is 15 mins drive away.

- Lake Montriond is 5km away for fishing and swimming.

- Lake Geneva (30 mins) for great lakeside restaurants and swimming in Evian.

Hi there, this is our family home from home that we're happy to rent out to people who love skiing (or boarding!) as much as we do!

Since buying the apartment, we've also fell in love with The Alps in the summer!

Why Pete chose Portes du Soleil

After years of skiing in France we settled on Portes Du Soleil as our favourite destination due to the amount of skiing and its proximity to the airport at Geneva.

We ended up buying in La Grande Terche as it has everything - we can ski to our doorstep, the runs are lovely and quiet, but if you want more Avoriaz and Morzine are easy to get to. Plus we've got 3 excellent restaurants and 3 bars within 30 seconds walk - what more could you ask for?

New Year Stay

Large spacious apartment with good sized rooms and lovely lounge/kitchen area with 2 sofa beds. Well equipped kitchen with all necessary cooking utensils/pots and pans. Beautiful view from the balcony of the mountains. Central location directly opposite the Gondola and opposite the main restaurants/bars in the resort. Our party consisted of 6 including adults and children and was very well suited to all of us. Very useful having 2 toilets. Great secure locker for storing all ski/boot hire downstairs in the entrance to the apartment block.

First ski hols

This was our little boy and his friends first Ski Holiday!

It was pretty much ideal, they were 3 1/2 and 4 years old and really enjoyed the whole week.

We also arranged flights and transfers ourselves and were dropped at the bottom of the stairs to the apartments.

We were two couples each with one child and another adult sharing the 3 bedrooms. We took a blow up bed and used the owners spare blow up to sleep the boys in with the parents.

The local village sold most things you need to self cater but we stopped on route at a big supermarket and stocked up for the week!

Club Piou Piou was next door so made dropping them off in the morning and pick up at lunch time ideal and they both loved the club and excursions. (You can also meet up at the top of the lifts)

The lifts and ticket office are also next to the apartment and you can ski back down too! (Not the boys as it was a red run)

It was a perfect location for a first ski hol as there was plenty to do for the boys and we had plenty of boarding on and off piste, so we didn't even need to go up to Morzine!!

The apartment was cosy for 7 of us but we all had somewhere to sit and eat and play and the sleeping layout worked brilliantly, with plenty of space to leave board bags etc.

Only one bath but two toilets!

Also there was enough room for all the wet gear and a full ski locker downstairs; our 3x boards, 4x baby skis and snow blades, 2x skis and 7x helmets and boots etc... So plenty of room and we were in and out all day doing various activities. (Only warning to some would be two flights of stairs up to apartment).

We cooked for all but one night and had no problems and the restaurant across the road was great..

All in all a great and cheap accommodation that does everything you need!

LE Schuss

We stayed at this apartment in the Le Schuss building for New Year 12/13, and found it fantastic. Location was perfect, right next to the gondola and central to the couple of restaurants and bars that the resort have. The apartment was ideal for our family of 6 and the views from the balcony were amazing. This is a very good sized accommodation, we loved it so much we have booked to go again!

You can swim in Lake Montriond (5km away) or Lake Geneva (30 mins drive away). There are also family pools at Morzine (10 mins drive) and the famous French town of Evian (30 mins drive).


Fly and then drive is the best option (car advised), although it's about the same drive from the UK as to SW France.

Flying:That's why Portes du Soliel is great, it's a piece of cake, no 3 hour transfers: Geneva is just over 1 hour drive away (including Easyjet, Jet2, BMI Baby, Flybe, British Airways and KLM). Lyon 2 hours 15 mins drive (Including Ryanair, Easyjet, BA and more). The drive from Calais takes about 8.5 - 9 hours and is motorway all the way apart from the last 20 mins.


Morzine 10 mins. Les Gets 15 mins. Thonon Les Bains 25 mins.

Evian 30 mins. Geneva 1 hour 15 mins. Annecy 1 hour 30 mins.

Chamonix 1 hour 30 mins.

Further Details:

The advantage of the small resort is that not only is it peaceful but absolutely everything you need is within seconds walking distance of the apartment: ski hire is under the apartment, 3 bar/restaurants are within 30 secs walk, there is a supermarket nearby also and a bigger one 5 mins drive towards Morzine.
