Orchards is a two bedroom self contained apartment with a cream and russet theme and comprises of a sitting room, kitchen/breakfast room on the ground floor with two bedrooms and a bathroom on the upper floor.

The entrance to this comfortable apartment is through the pretty inner courtyard which leads into the lounge with wood burning stove,television with freesat and DVD player. CD and tape player. Free WIFI.

The kitchen/diner is fully equipped with electric cooker, microwave and fridge.

Upstairs is a bedroom with double bed leading to a second bedroom with twin beds.

The bathroom has a bath with shower attachment, wc and washbasin.

Outside, is access to shared Laundry room with coin operated washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer.

About the property


Didworthy House is found in the tranquil hamlet of the same name, within the Dartmoor National Park, in an outstandingly beautiful natural area. Located 2 miles from South Brent down a typical pretty Devon lane. This historic house is situated on a gentle south facing hillside with gorgeous gardens running down to the River Avon. The wooded valley is noted for the purity of its air which allows many of the trees to attract a unique lichen and is a haven for wildlife. A birdwatchers paradise! The three self contained apartments provide quality accomodation of character and successfully combine a traditional style with modern conveniences. Guests are invited to use the owner's outdoor heated swimming pool at set times from July- end of August. Parking is available, 1 car per apartment, at the front of the property. Guests are assured a warm welcome, with a mouth-watering cream tea and fresh flowers on arrival and the owners will endeavour to ensure that the holiday is memorable.

Towels and bed linen provided. Travel cot and high chair available. Logs for wood-burner - first basket free thereafter at a cost of £5. The owners will arrange delivery of fresh eggs and other local produce if required. Seasonal garden produce may be available for purchase. Outside: Owners' large heated outdoor pool available from July to end of August from 10am to 6pm. Children to be accompanied at all times. There is shared garden furniture on the lower terrace and other areas of the garden, with barbecue facilities available for all apartment guests.

Didworthy is a perfect base to explore South Hams and South Devon coast.

The towns of Dartmouth and Salcombe are within 20miles. Dartmouth has a famous regatta and music festival. River trips to Totnes along Dart.

Totnes is 10 miles away and is an ancient river port with regular markets.

There are numerous sandy beaches in the Kingsbridge area -Bantham beach, Bigbury on sea, Blackpool Sands all within 30min drive.


Plymouth airport is 20miles away.

Exeter airport is 35 miles away.

Main line train services from Totnes.


South Brent is the nearest village with shops, pubs, banks, Health centre and Dentist and is within two miles.

The Turtley Corn Mill at Avonwick is a renowned pub/restaurant using local produce - 3 miles.

Totnes on the Dart estuary is 10 miles away and is a market town with a full range of shopping and banking facilities, pubs and restaurants and regular markets.

Paignton and Torquay are within 20 miles and are busy seaside towns with beaches.

Further Details:

There are many public footpaths and bridleways directly from Didworthy House and walkers can be on the moors within minutes. Horseriding and cycling is available locally on the moors or green lanes. The Avon Dam at Shipley Bridge is a well known and visited beauty spot. Dartmouth is a beautiful historic town on the River Dart and is a popular boating centre with a famous regatta. It is also a fishing port and fresh catches are available on quayside. The town is rich in art galleries and fascinating shops with an abundance of restaurants using local produce. Salcombe another popular sailing centre is 20 miles away and provides many watersports.

Newly opened is the Dartmoor Zoological Park near Ivybridge. The South Hams is a food-lovers paradise and there are many restaurants serving local produce and freshly caught seafood to tickle the taste buds. The owner has an an arrangement with The Pantry in South Brent to provide various packs of local produce e.g. organic breakfast packs, local cheeses and chutneys, which the owner can have available on arrival at cost price.
