Offering free wifi and less than a 5 minute walk from the pool and clubhouse, Our executive Florida townhouse consists of 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, 2 of which are en-suite. The lounge has a bed settee, enabling the house to sleep 8/10. The downstairs on suite has separate lock out facilities and a separate front door, enabling total privacy. It has a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The house has a no smoking policy. The house is set in the Regal Palms Resort which is a walled and gated community about 15 minutes from the Disney theme parks. Adjacent to Regal Palms is a beautiful 18 hole par 72 golf course at Highland Reserve. There are lots of amenities on the site, including a large tropical pool area with lazy river and fun slide. Sun loungers can be found all round the poolside. There is a large restaurant and bar, games room, gymnasium, spa and beauty complex,and outside jacuzzi, open till 11pm 7 days a week. The Property offers free WIFI and Cable TV. There is a large supermarket, shops and restaurants close by. 24 hour check-in is available.

We live in a small town in the East of England were Myself and my wife run our small Property business. We have lived in our home town all our lives, fell in love with Florida were we used to spend many a holiday with our younger children,They have now flown the nest, however we loved the area so much that we decided to buy our own holiday home so we could spend time out from our hectic lives when we wanted in the area we wanted to be in.

Why john carter chose Davenport

We Purchased in Davenport after much searching as the area is close enough to the Disney parks [ approx 20 mins], and the Attractions of Orlando and Disney area but without the hustle and Bustle..

We also chose this Property as it was on a Purpose Built 5 star resort, allowing us to use all the facilities without having to go far .Also as one of the earlier Built properties we are close to the Pool and Cub house , which is very important if you have children or anyone who is not so mobile .

We also have a large supermarket and places to eat all within walking distance

we also liked the fact that we could drive to the East and West coasts of Florida with easy access to the motorways [ approx 1hr 20 to cocca beach in the East , and 1 hr 45 to clear water tampa in the West].

What makes this house unique

We Were attracted to the First class Resort due the facilities available on site and the on site sports bar and restaurant, and kiddies club,The outside jacuzzi and gym with indoor steam room , sauna and health club [ basically all you would expect in an all inclusive 5 star resort] , but with your own house to go home to .

We were also drawn to the fact that we had a large supermarket, various shops and eateries all within walking distance if required.

The resort also offers an 18 hole Golf Course over the road at Highlands Reserve.

Notes on accommodation: There are lots of amenities on the site, including a large tropical pool area with lazy river and fun slide and outside jacuzzi in secure area for residents only. Childrens Club House Banna Jacks [ new 2012],Outside Tiki Bar and barbeque area [ in season] Large sandy volley ball court,Sun loungers can be found all round the poolside. Towels are provided.There is a large restaurant and bar, games room, gymnasium, spa and beauty complex, business centre with internet access. Large Supermarket and restaurants ,shops and bars close by. 24 hour check in is available. Guests are asked to vacate their holiday homes by 10am. As well as being walled the complex offers round the clock security. Utility Room: First floor laundry closet (doors to landing) with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron with board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and bed linen are included. There is also washing machine and dryer if sheet clean required. Cots, highchair, etc are also available. Other: Property has a full air conditioning unit which operates both cold/heat system. Key holding security box on outside operated by code.

Nice place..a big glitch..but the new owner stepped up to resolve it

Regal Palms is a great resort. We traveled with a party of 6 that included a 14 year old and a 6 year old. A big reason I chose this resort was the availability of a 4 bedroom Townhome and for the pools and water slides- which were terrific.

The 4 bedroom Townhome that we rented was clean and in good shape.

But there was one BIG glitch. We returned from the Theme Parks on day 3 to find that there was no water. None. It had been disconnected at the curb for non payment.

I immediatley called Paradise Properties..the company listed in the manual left for us and they said that they would "attempt to call the owner and call us back" . Nope. It was evening so we went to bed and I called again in the morning at 8..then 8:30...then 9. Once again they told me (several times) that they were "attempting to contact the owner and would call me back" . Nope. I never received on call from them in 2 days. Not one.

I went to the main desk at Regal Palms and they informed me that there was not a lot they could do since they did not own or manage this Townhome but they DID give me cards to access flush toilets and private showers in their Spa area.

I then call Homeaway's support number and they registered a case for me and gave me a number in England to call. So I called it and was told " we do not own the property anymore".

I called Homeaway back and they gave me 2 other "possible" numbers to try. There was never any follow up e-mails or calls from Homeaway. We were left hanging in the wind.

The second number was the jackpot t. I reached the new owner Dawn and she could not have been nicer. The glitch appears to have happened as part of the sale of the property. Dawn had already contacted the water company and had arranged for the water to be turned back on that day. And it was.

This was my first foray into renting vacation property and with more experience I would have realized to reach out to Dawn sooner instead of the totally useless Paradise Properties.

So Why the 5 star review ?

Well, my wife and I travel a lot and once and a while things may go wrong...it is how these events are handled that are important to me. A Family of 6 without water could have ruined a vacation but the owner Dawn stepped up to the plate and took care of it as fast as possible. I highly recommend renting from her and I would not hesitate to rent from her again.

Check in was easy. We we're close to parks, shopping, and plenty of restaurants. Home was very spacious. My family loved the Disney themed home. GORGEOUS!!! I would definitely rent from this owner again. We had a family of 7 staying and we were well accommodated. We stayed the week of Thanksgiving. One of the dining room chairs was really wobbly, a drinking glass was broken and left in cabinet above stove, and the tea pichter was cracked. I emailed owner immediately. I didn't need anything. I just wanted owner to be aware of things left undone by previous renter or maintenance company. These were minor for us. Our intent was to rent the home to be cozy on days we did not go to the Disney Parks. The home was perfect. Thank you to the owners for sharing your home with renters. The only issue I had with the resort (which is separate from home away/owner) was they have a lazy river and tubes are not furnished for the lazy river. They sell the tubes in their store. I found that a bit ridiculous, but that is no reflection on the owner of this property.

As advertised. Spacious and comfortable

Enjoyed the townhome, the neighbourhood, the pool is good for younger kids. While it is a bit of a drive to Universal we did enjoy unplugging from the stress of the crowds in our own rooms 3 bathrooms are such a luxury. Thank you for letting us stay in your townhome.

Perfect place to relax

Close to Disney World. Tons of extra space and loved the washer and dryer. Just what was expected from description. Communication was fantastic. I would stay with them again

Great family home & resort and excellent location for Disney

Townhouse was clean and exactly as described. Regal palms staff were friendly and helpful. We all had a great time relaxing at the pool between parks, lazy river is great fun. 20 minute drive from Disney. 5 minutes from large supermarket, pizzeria etc. Owners are very friendly and quick to respond. Had an amazing holiday and would love to return one day.
