Fimbar is a beautifully appointed luxury two bedroom apartment located within the lovely Parish of St James, on the famous platinum West Coast of Barbados. Crystal Court is a quiet and spacious development, tastefully landscaped with local palms and shrubs, with a communal pool and floodlit tennis court just minutes from idyllic white sandy beaches, restaurants, shops and championship golf courses. The apartment has been tastefully furnished with high quality furniture and in summary comprises: two bedrooms, bathroom, powder room, kitchen, utility area, open plan living and dining room and front and rear balconies.

Why Janie chose Clermont

We had the opportunity to take a short holiday in Barbados and stayed at this apartment at Crystal Court. We think the island is magical and fell in love with the apartment - so much so we bought it! We called the apartment Fimbar to highlight our roots in the seaside village in the UK where St.Fimbarrus was patron saint. It also helps with the fimbarbados website name! The apartment is centrally located just a short distance from the platinum west coast so everywhere on the island is within easy reach.

What makes this Apartment unique

The apartment is tranquil and secure and is set in well-maintained grounds with local flora and fauna. It is peaceful and away from crowds but also close enough to the nightlife and busier locations for those days and nights out. We have invested in new furniture throughout the apartment. We stay as often as we can and maintain the apartment to a very high standard. Our aim is to provide a home from home for our guests where they can relax and feel valued. We know our guests will thoroughly enjoy their stay and many come back time and again for more!

                                    The Sandy Lane Golf Course with three glorious courses is a 5 min drive. Sandy Lane is a golfer's paradise with 3 courses giving 3 very different experiences with The Country Club Course, the spectacular Green Monkey and The Old Nine. The Royal Westmoreland Golf Course with its championship course is a 20 min drive. Golf doesn’t get much better than at this world-class 18-hole championship golf course of unrivalled beauty, with views of the shimmering ocean from every hole, and a layout to test every club in your bag. This course has a small number of tee-times between 10:20am and 11:00am available for visitors, subject to availability. The Barbados Golf Course is a 20 min drive. This mature public course is fair, challenging and a pleasurable walk amidst tropical surroundings. Rockley Golf Course is a 25 minute drive. This course is a 9 hole course with alternate tees for the back nine.

The open plan living room and dining area has two remote control ceiling fans. Fimbar has a front and rear balcony. The front balcony overlooks the pool and tennis court. Ideal for families. Sorry, but no pets and no smoking. Outside: Landscaped grounds with palms and local shrubs. The pool has a children’s area ideal for younger members of the family. The tennis court is floodlit. A communal clubhouse adjoins the pool with fridge, shower and toilet facilities. Crystal Court has secure keypad entry to maintain privacy and security. Utility Room: New dishwasher with worktop. Door to rear balcony with large capacity washing machine and adjacent utility sink. Iron and ironing board. Door to rear balcony. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bath towels and linen provided. The property is cleaned weekly, more often on request. Other: Balcony with table and chairs overlooking the pool and tennis court with inland views. Safe for valuables.

                                                                Our second stay here and it was just as good as the first time, Andy and Janie are always on hand if you need anything, had the pool and tennis court to ourselves again, got our food from one of the many carribean food vans which is lush and a lot better value than restaurants - cost £7.50p per meal situated by the bank in Holetown between 12:00-15:00. Supermarket is only 2 miles away and so are fast food restaurants too. You’ll be better off hiring a car for beaches as there’s loads on the West Coast. The appartment has a brilliant and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, laundry area with an American style washing machine, great air con, two large bedrooms and balcony to front. Open every window and external doors then the carribean breeze flows through nicely. I love this place and my only regret is that I didn’t buy one when they were being built. We’re a family of five and we lived comfortably here for two weeks. Thanks to Andy and Janie for making our holiday for us and our children, we’ll be back next year for sure.

                                                                Good safe place for family's clean good pool needs some up keep looks like they are planning on fixing it soon there is no BBQ in the property so no grilling anywhere no wifi in the unit it's only in the club house if you need to use it also not cable tv but plenty of dvds to watch but only in the living room the second bedroom tv DVD player does. It work there is only one shower second bath is just a toilet and small sink the car we used could use a lot of work passenger rear door is missing handle so had to always open it from the inside seat belts don't fasten great AC works good when we r driving otherwise it's just warm could also use a wash inside or some air fresheners brakes could use some work also overall the price was ok comparing to some other units there had met a couple there that asked me what I paid and they were very surprised that I had paid that much I thought it was fair with car included so this is my 5th time to the island and I always rent homes this if the first time renting a appt style home don't think I will again after renting a home but it is a good location just a little further up from everything ..

                                                                We would like to thank you for the positive comments and we are glad you enjoyed your stay.

                                                                If we may, we'd like to respond to the constructive advice you left? Firstly, BBQs: We did consider having a BBQ for guests to use, however, they are not appropriate for the apartment as the only location for its' use is to place it on the balcony and the fire risk is too great. Secondly, the TVs are not connected to cable or satellite and are only advertised as DVD players and we keep a stock of these at the apartment. We will consider cable in the future but this is not cost effective at present. Thirdly, Wifi: We do have a contract with FLOW for high speed wifi within the apartment but there was a fault on the system which is being addressed with FLOW Barbados as we speak. We apologise that the signal was not as you hoped. Finally, car and cost: our car is a much cherished personal car and is not new. Therefore the option for this includes a significant discount over hire car prices to reflect the fact that you are driving an older car. It is fully insured with our comprehensive policy and the price is further reduced to match the cost of taxis to/from the airport and for permits, as necessary. We believe this makes the car extremely good value when compared to the costs associated with hiring a car from a hire company. Please bear in mind that we feel the apartment is fairly priced and when the car is added to the apartment rental costs a comparison with other apartment rental prices can only be made when the cost of the car is removed.

                                                                Great apt & pool but a car is necessary unless you don't mind public transit.

                                                                My husband & I visited Barbados for the 1st time for 5 wks. We loved the apt as it met all our needs with the exception of wifi. It was the Clubhouse wifi and shared by many and very weak. The apt was well equipped and if we needed anything, it was quickly addressed by owners. We did not rent a car as we are not familiar with driving on the "other side" and a little nervous, so we learned a lot about the public transit which is very cheap $2 Bajan=$1US. People are very friendly and helpful. We walked to Masseys grocery store and they shuttle you back FREE. We visited many beaches, favourites were Miami (South East), Paynes (West), Batts Rock is closest (we walked 40 mins)and Speightstown- North West, if you buy food or drink from Jumas or Lobster Pot, you can use the loungers/umbrella for FREE! We also loved the Boatyard - our favourite, you pay $25US and you get $20 credit for food/drink and get use of loungers and umbrella. Plus you get a FREE "snorkel to see the turtles" for 1/2 hr. Also, saw Harrison Caves, Animal Flower Cave, toured East Coast, Foursquare Rum Distillery, Oisten's Fish Fry, St.Lawrence Gap, Earthworks Pottery and did Jammin"catamaran (well worth the $). The birds sang beautifully during the day and the frogs (peepers) are very loud at night. We rarely needed the a/c on. Windows open give a great breeze that cooled us off and dried the laundry well. It was also a nice bonus to have Maria come and clean once/wk (changed bedding, washed floors, cleaned bathroom). Loved the pool!! We had it mostly to ourselves.                                                                 Lovely Apartment Very Well Equipped in a quiet, safe and convenient loacation

                                                                We had a fabulous time in Barbados.

                                                                The apartment suited our needs perfectly, very well equipped and conveniently located for easy access to pretty much everywhere. Having the car was a real bonus something we probably wouldn't have bothered with had we been right on the beach. We had a great time exploring different beaches along both coasts and spent a day wandering around Bridgetown. Our favourite beach, a short 10 minute drive "the back way", was Paynes Bay by The Treasure Beach Hotel where we swam with turtles each time we visited - amazing. It's over 30 years since we have been to Barbados and although have visited several other Caribbean islands during that time, we found Barbados to be more sophisticated, service levels greatly improved and the people generally very helpful, warm and friendly this time around.

                                                                The owners Andy and Janie were very efficient, accommodating and helpful. Easy payment, flexible with checkout time, great restaurant recommendations.

                                                                We look forward to our next stay in wonderful Barbados.

                                                                Coast/Beach: The beautiful platinum west coast beaches with white powdery sand aynd calm seas are just a 5 min drive away. Here it is possible to snorkel with turtles and enjoy the reefs from the beach although numerous companies provide catamaran excursions. The south coast sandy beaches which have more waves are a 30 min drive. The east coast Atlantic beaches are a 20 minute drive but these are for experienced surfers only. Travel: Grantley Adams International Airport is a 25-30 min drive. Whilst it is possible to travel relatively easily around the island the owners consider a car to be essential to enjoy fully the beauty of Barbados. Distances: Supermarkets and shopping is 3 mins by car with restaurants and additional shopping just 5 mins away. Bridgetown is a 20 min drive. All parts of the island and its attractions are easily accessible in just a short time. Further Details: Diving is available from a number of locations with excellent dive sites and warm clear Caribbean waters.

                                                                Booking Notes: A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance due 70 days before the booked start date. Changeover Day: Changeover day is flexible. Arrival and Departure Times: The apartment is available from 3pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 11 am on the day of departure. These times may be flexible on request and any agreed timings contrary to the standard times above will be confirmed by email. Notes on prices: A full list of prices and dates can be found at the owners website: www.fimbarbados.com A refundable security deposit is taken to guarantee against loss or damage. Any such loss or damage must be reported without delay. The security deposit will be refunded 14 days after your holiday subject to any deductions for loss or damage so reported. Additionally, should there be an excessive use of electricity (air conditioning left on with windows open or left on after departure, for example) we reserve the right to withhold part or all of the deposit to cover these additional costs. Prices are for up to 5 guests staying for a week although the fifth person will be on a pull-out bed. Any number of days can be taken.
