About Giancarla Serra

My mother's family owns the flat from 1887. My grand-grand-father, from Genoa, both the flat with the boathouse to give to his ten sons the opportunity to grow up healthy and strong - swimming, rowing and hiking in stunning places. In the XIX century, Portofino was a little fisherman village, unknown from the newborn tourism. The only other tourists were two English brother and their family, living in the two castles of the area - Castello Paraggi, in front of Niasca and castello Brown, immediately above Portofino. Nowadays the natural park and the protected bay of Paraggi bring back the enchant of those days.

Giancarla Serra purchased this apartment in 1887

Why Giancarla Serra chose Portofino

Have you ever been to Portofino Italy? You can not see it at least once in your life! It's one of the most beautiful sea side places in the world: the best you can expect thinking of a picturesque Italian fishermen village.

What makes this apartment unique

You could hear from the living room the rhythmic sound of waves!

It's hard to capture how stunning this place is in a photo, and upon arrival we were utterly blown away. It's literally everything we hoped it would be and so much more. Perfect for kids too, everything within walking distance. You have to check out U-Pin restaurant, a bit of a walk, but well worth it. We will be coming back!

Amazing property

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at Giancarla's extraordinary house. Fabulous position, great history to the place and in such a unique location. The house itself is very spacious, all well set up, although there is no kettle which was very unusual, I think one should be supplied. My only other comment would be that for the price we paid there should have been a mid stay clean!! We really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Amazing home on the water

  • 5 of 5

The home is located between Santa Margherita and Portofino on the Parraggi bay. There are no other homes on the bay so it is very secluded. There are 3 bedroom and 3 baths with a large great room with kitchen, living and dining room. There are French doors that open to a small balcony overlooking the bay. The view and sounds of the sea were fantastic. The amenities were everything we neeeded. Giancarla was an excellent host and met all our needs. The walk to Portofino bay is 10 to 15 minutes. There is also retail business (Outdoor Portofino) that rents kayaks, paddle boards, and other water equipment. We strongly recommend this home to any travelers with family, friends wanting to party or couples looking for a quiet getaway. Thanks for the memories Giancarla!

Amazing location near the most beautiful towns of the Italian Riviera.

  • 5 of 5

Niasca is a special place, nestled in a bay with rich forest and a beach of crystal clear waters. The house is cozy and comfortable with a lot of history that is palpable when you look into the details, pictures of the family and beautifully made frescoes.

The house is very quiet at night despite being in a busy road on the way to Portofino. The sound of the birds at 5 am is the only waking sound..a very pleasant one.

The house has a beach (public but sometimes feels like is your own private beach) just steps away. The water is clear, turquoise blue and cool. There is a kayak company rightvbelow tge home and kayaking around the bay is a must.

You have so much to do and so many places to visit nearby. All enchanting and fun. You return to your tranquil and quiet retreat and have a Campari watching the sunset. Not enough words to describe this place....

We loved our stay and pleasure to find such spacious and charming apartment.

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was bright with a gorgeous view, almost no traffic noise inside, a pretty little public beach with kayak and paddle board rentals - perfect for families. We all had a great time. There is a busy road into Portofino to cross so care is important with children. It is an easy 10 minute walk into Portofino and 20 minutes to Sta Margherita along a red carpeted path! I would recommend it to any family who like beach activity as well as sight seeing. Thank you Giancarla,

Perfect Portofino Villa for our 20th Anniversary!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Niasca/Portofino. The villa is located perfectly to enjoy all the area has to offer, while still allowing us to relax away from the busy towns at the end of the day. While the road is busy at times, you don't hear it from the villa. The view is outstanding and everyone we met during check-in and check-out were wonderful. Everything we needed for the week was provided and the recommendations for dining, groceries, places to visit in the area were very well received. A must is a drive to Recco for focaccia! What a treat to have been there!

Niasca's villa is on the road that links Santa Margherita Ligure to Portofino.

The village of Portofino, with its small natural harbor, decorated with pastel-colored houses, is one of the most wonderful places in the entire Italian Riviera.

A mild weather all year round, allows to enjoy walks along the sea and on the hills, or to shop in fashionable Portofino and Santa Margherita boutiques to lounge in a restaurant terrace.

Santa Margherita Ligure (3.5 km away) is a pretty small town with all kinds of shops and facilities (supermarket, hospital, train station, pharmacy, restaurants, bar) and is linked to Niasca by bus.
