Bungalow in Obeilar, Nr. Illora/Granada, Andalucia - Fantastic Accommodation With Own Private Pool, Less Than 30 Mins From Granada

A beautiful property that has been renovated to exceedingly high standard and furnished with all home comforts. It is situated on the outskirts of the village where you can enjoy magnificent views, peace and quiet. The garden is private (Not overlooked) and secure with its own pool (7 x 3.5m and 1.65m deep). No fencing, so it is not suitable to leave small children unsupervised in the garden. There is a BBQ and sitting area. Obeilar is ideally situated for travel within Andalucia, with Granada only 25 minutes away, and Granada airport only 15 minutes drive. The Sierra Nevada skiing resort is only a 45 minute drive and Costa del Sol within 1 hour. There is a regular cheap bus service that runs to Granada and surrounding villages. The area is very well suited to the keen cyclist, proven a very popular hobby with many of the locals, and an amazing location for the keen walker. This is a non smoking house, ashtrays provided in garden.

About Mrs Tanya Butcher

We are an English family of four, with two boys aged 22 & 18. We live in England where we run our own Tarmac business. We fell in love with Obeilar, while visiting friends in a nearby village. We felt so at home that we decided to buy a villa there. We completely renovated the property with the plan of moving out to live permanently in Spain, but due to family commitments and the boys growing up we decide to keep it as a family holiday home.

Why Mrs Tanya Butcher chose Íllora

We brought this villa to make it our family home back in 2006, and spent around 6 months renovating it to high standards. We fell in love with Spain and it gorgeous weather, the villa and the village, especially the locals who always make us feel welcome. The surrounding villages are also beautiful, and the Sierra Nevada has so much to offer. We would like to share the experience of living in Spain, while on holiday with others.

What makes this bungalow unique

The property offers a great get away experience, with as much piece and quiet as you could want. You can relax and feel like your at home while making the most of the sunny days. Enjoying the fantastic pool and garden area with an amazing bbq area. The villa is ideally situated for seeing some of Spain's greatest sights.

Notes on accommodation: Air-conditioning units in all bedrooms. For heating there is a log burner. Heaters provided for the bedrooms in the winter months, there will be an additional charge for these. There is no smoking indoors but guests are free to smoke in the garden where ash trays are provided. Outside: The front of the property has a large patio, ideal for sitting and enjoying the views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and there is ample car parking space. The rear garden is very secure and private, not overlooked, with its own pool. 7 metres x 3.5 metres and 1.65 deep. Steps in at one end. There is no fencing round the pool so it is not suitable to leave small children unsupervised. There is a BBQ area with seating. There are also some sun-loungers. The property also has its own working well. The village has supermarkets, friendly bars, childrens play area and medical centre. The village of Illora in 10 minute drive and boasts many bars and resturants, banks and 24 hour medical centre. And regular bus service to Granada. Utility Room: Washing machine and tumble dryer in pump house. Airier for drying laundry. Iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: There is no maid service, but for longer stays this can be arranged. Pool cleaned weekly. All linen and towels are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. Other: Fantastic outside BBQ area with seating. Sun loungers. This property is NO SMOKING inside.

Maison mitoyenne pour autant pas de vis à vis, super pour une intimité familiale, accompagnée uniquement d’insectes qui sont assoiffés donc tournoient toute la journée autour de cette jolie piscine et finissent par se noyer à l’interleur de celle-ci.

Il n’y a que 5-10 km à pied, pour trouver un petit magasin, de façon à se restaurer.

La literie est géniale, grâce aux ressorts qui te rappelleront que ton propre lit te manque.

Ce séjour était fantastique et inoubliable merci à wendy pour sa disponibilité via WhatsApp, n’oubliez pas d avoir votre internet pour lui répondre 😁.

Special interest holidays:

Within Granada and surrounding villages there are many place of interest to visit, such as the world famous Alhambra Palace, beautiful walks, lakes, bike riding, horse riding, go-carting and fine beaches all within day trip distance. There are many small villages surrounding Obeilar that are well worth a visit. Provided in the house is a book with ideas of places to visit and maps. Our house keepers are happy to give advise on places to visit, and walking tours are available on request. Obeilar and the surrounding villages have proven to be perfect for the keen cyclist. Providing mile upon mile of open road.


Obeilar is ideally situated for travel within Andalucia with Granada being only 25 minutes away and Malaga (1hr), Seville (2hrs), Cordoba (1hr), and Almeria (1.5hrs), the beaches of the Costa del Sol and Costa Tropical only 1 hour driving, all being within day trip distance.


Granada airport is only 15 minutes drive, and Malaga airport is less than 60 minutes away. Both with low cost airlines offering cheap flights and flying regularly. Car hire is strongly recommended, but a cheap bus services does run and there are also taxis.


The nearest village is Illora, only 10 minutes drive. And Pinos Puente has a large supermarket and is 15 minutes drive. Granada, a huge city is only 25 minutes drive.

Booking Notes:
A deposit of 50% is required for all bookings with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival. Bookings can be made with full payment if less then 6 weeks. Late bookings can be taken and payment made in Euros upon arrival. We accept payment by bank transfer.

Changeover Day:
We are flexible with arrival and departing times, but would appreciate prompt departing at mid-day if new guests are arriving on the same day. You will be told of this at time of booking.

Notes on prices:
Pricing is per night for the villa (not per person) and discounts will not be giving for less people. Minimum booking for 3 nights.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
