Bring a coin when you stay at this stylish and comfortable Gleneden Beach vacation rental home because, with the ocean a short walk in one direction and Salishan Resort two blocks in the other, you just might have to flip to choose between the beautiful sandy beach, or a day on the links. Bright and cozy, this spacious three-bedroom home - tucked away in a quiet neighborhood on the north end of Gleneden Beach - has a modern, minimalist feel inside and out, and offers plenty of perks like free WiFi, TV with a DVD player, and an outdoor firepit where you can gather, by the fire's glow, under the stars.
Return from your day exploring nearby Siletz Bay to this home's stylish living area where you'll kick back on comfortable, unpretentious furniture and warm yourself by the charming, faux (gas) woodstove. Read that novel by the bright sunlight through the big bay window or listen to one of the CDs you brought along. Offload your digital images on the laptop and, while you're on it, bring up the internet with the free WiFi and check out a place to eat, or goings-on at nearby Salishan or up in Lincoln City, about fifteen minutes to the north. And don't forget to pack some of your favorite DVDs so you can slide one into the player and enjoy a movie when the coastal skies are gray.
This lovely home has three bedrooms and a loft, and will accommodate up to eight of you. All three of the bedrooms are downstairs. Two have a queen bed, each nicely and simply decorated, and the third bedroom contains 2 twin beds. Head up the stairs where you'll find the loft space with a double-size bed. There's one full bathroom on the main level with a walk-in shower and a washer and dryer, so don't over-pack! Well-behaved dogs are also welcome, though a nightly fee per dog and minimum fee per stay will apply.
If you're hungry and planning to dine out, you'll find that most of the places to eat are located adjacent to Salishan Resort. One popular is the Side Door Cafe, but, depending on how far you want to travel, there are tons of great eateries up in Lincoln City and down in Newport. Otherwise, turn your cook loose in this fully equipped kitchen, complete with everything he or she will need to make culinary magic including - in addition to the obligatory stove, microwave and fridge - there are plenty of utensils, pots and pans. And, you'll enjoy that same savory cup of coffee you enjoy at home with the coffee grinder! When it's nice, get the charcoal glowing hot in the grill out on the patio and barbecue your feast.
It's a short walk to the beach from this beautiful home. Take a stroll, fly a kite (the persistent coastal breeze has made Gleneden the home of two annual kite festivals), or just enjoy the sunset. Over at Fogarty Creek State Recreation Area (just four minutes away) you can explore the marine life in the tidepools, or view the diverse species of birds that call it home. Make the half-hour trip south to Newport where you can watch the town's resident sea lions cavort near the docks, or enjoy a sumptuous, seafood meal at one of its many restaurants. Or, if you're up to a night out, make the 10 minute drive up to Lincoln City and enjoy dinner in one of its many restaurants, have a shopping spree in its outlet mall, or see how Lady Luck treats you at Chinook Winds Casino.

Vacasa - Vacation Rentals Made Easy:
Professionally managed and cleaned homes
Local assistance 24/7 for emergencies
Secure INSTANT booking
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
The house is cute and setup to accommodate 6 people comfortably. We were able to spend time together but yet have our own space. Don't let the exterior fool you. The inside is what you want for a beachate house.
The place was filthy and smelly when we arrived. We spent the first hour or two cleaning floors, rolling up dirty area rugs and washing dishes. The place is run down and not well maintained. Two of the three bedrooms feel like caves. The towels on the linen shelves were wet when we arrived (not damp but wet). The place was extremely damp, not in a 'we're staying on the beach' kind of damp, but a poorly maintained house kind of damp. The only good things about this property was the comfortable beds (although I question their cleanliness after stripping off the sheets), the proximity to the beach and the fact that they refunded our cleaning fee. However the get the refund we had to badger them for three days.
The property is not what the pics on the site capture. The back yard is a death trap as no one clearly takes care of the landscape as we had an incident because no one mows the lawn and there are huge holes though out the backyard. The neighbors that live behind the house are all up at all hours causing concern and issues as they are mowing there lawn at 3am. Over all ok place to stay but not what the pictures capture and it wouldn't hurt for the owners or property management company to invest in some land scaping and some updates to the inside
The pictures for this property make it out to be much nicer than it is in person. However the beds were comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen fully functional. It's a beach shack that could use a little TLC. The backyard is unmanicured and hasn't been mowed in months. Which because the lawn hasn't been mowed you don't see the potholes in the backyard which i tripped and feel on my face on the concrete.
I liked the peace and quiet. It was a cute place to stay. The beach was wondering just had to a lot of walking to get there. The house it self was nice and clean. It looked out dated but a great place to stay. We had a great time.
The location was good as it was a quick walk to the beach but the home was in bad shape. There was a bat in the house; there were bugs on the floor, the place smelled of old cigarettes and the washer didn't work. I expect quirky from a beach cottage but this place was unacceptable.
