Fantastic place to stay

  • 5 of 5

First rate communication from enquiry through to booking and providing of travel instructions, apartment information, suggestions on local restaurants, supermarkets etc etc was a decent clue that the property itself would be of a high standard and we were not disappointed.

The apartment is spotlessly clean, of high quality furnishings, especially the beds which, as per other reviews, are super comfy, not very common in Italy in our experience. The living area is well proportioned, comfortable and homely. It seems like everything is catered for, a good selection of pots, pans, utensils, books, guides, extra pillows etc etc and for the very first time in a dozen places in oven glove...why does nowhere else have one!!!

Outside is a large pergola with barbecue and garden and wonderful views for eating on an evening.

Air-conditioning in the evening is extremely effective and very welcome in the Tuscan summer.

The pool is of a very high quality with great loungers (note: no "shallow end" so very good for a decent swim) and further wonderful views.

We've stayed in many places over the years that we have enjoyed but might not have been 100% confident of unreservedly recommending to a friend. This is one of only 2 or 3 places in 10 years of travel to Italy that we'd have no hesitation in recommending.

Space to relax

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in the apartment and enjoyed it very much. It has everything one needs for a nice vacation and quiet relaxation in abundance. The property is at the end of a gravel road. It is close to Volterra & San Gimignano. Siena and Florence are each about 90 min away. Good location for excursions and the patio and pool are great for days where one simply wants to do nothing.

Very clean. Very quiet. Very relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

The property was one apartment in a group of apartments in a refurbished farmhouse. It was very quiet and relaxing. The gardens were beautiful. My son loved the pool. About an hour drive from Siena, Florence and Pisa. So a nice central location. Near wine country so we did a wine tasting, which was fun.

Brilliant villa in beautiful location.

  • 5 of 5

The property exceeded our expectations, it was clean and obviously well looked after; and as importantly, very well equipped.

Mike's directions to the property and communication were of great use- an important feature.

The views from the villa were breath taking, and Mike had obviously put a great deal of thought into ensuring that our stay was truly memorable.

We loved the local tourist destinations and also enjoyed relaxing and food shopping in the nearby towns and villages; we felt this represented a 'real' Italian experience.

We took the opportunity offered by the relatively remote location of the villa to just sit back and relax; this was an important feature of our holiday in Tuscany.

We regularly take holidays in villas, apartments and cottages and this apartment has to rank as one of the best.

Tuscany I adore you

  • 5 of 5

La Vista Grande was amazing. Mike provided all the info we needed to find our way to this remote spot. The views from every window and space are breathtaking. We definitely experienced some of the flavours of Tuscany each day, including some much needed sun. we did have a few house issues but Mike did try his best to get them attended to. Being remote means it doesn't get done fast. The dirt road leading over to the villa is really narrow and really bumpy so be prepared for that. I'd recommend a bit better signage for the corner when coming off the main road as we missed it initiallly.thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us Mike.

Owner's Response: Dear Brigitte, thank you for your review of La Vista Grande. With San Gimignano, Volterra and several other villages close by La Vista Grande is indeed situated in a lovely part of Tuscany and has fantastic views. I really do appreciate that you like our guides and that they have helped enhance your vacation. Glad that we resolved the house issues, my maintenance man was there the same day that I raised them. We now have a new sign that is placed at the entrance, it's an olive green colour so hopefully will not be missed. We do have a road maintenance plan for the shared Tuscan white road, 5 times a year and have just had some maintenance done in the past couple of weeks so its alot smoother. I am very pleased to hear so many positive comments about your stay so I'm grateful that you have taken a few moments to share your experience. Kind regards, Mike

Grand Views for Sure!

  • 5 of 5

This property exceeded our expectations - on arrival we fully understood why the property was named La Vista Grande - every window has a stunning view over the Tuscan Hills.

We found the property comfortable and well equipped.

Dinner on the terrace, at the end of the day, with a cold beer or glass of wine overlooking the hills with the town in the distance made us feel we had arrived in heaven.

The location is excellent for visiting Tuscan highlights of Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, Sienna. San Gimignano is within easy reach and one of the nicest places we have visited. Florence would have been easy too, but we had two weeks with plenty of chill out time on our agenda and so didn't make its this time, and opted to spend every other day at the pool which we found very enjoyable.

Many of the other apartments are occupied by owners who were helpful, welcoming and informative, providing supplementary information to that provided by Mike.

Mike's directions were excellent, we found the property with ease. He also provided plenty of information, was helpful and very prompt in responding to questions etc..

Thanks for letting us have access to La Vista Grande and enabling us to have a fabulous holiday.

I am sure we will visit again in the future
