The Lodge sits under the shadow of an 11th century castle housing the regions best wines, in a hamlet on the outskirts of the sleepy village of Roppolo. Surrounded by woodland which runs the length of the Serra, with views on a clear day of a breathtaking mountain range. The area is completely unspoilt and extremely beautiful. Turin, Milan The Alps and the Great Italian Lakes are all within easy travelling distance. The Lodge has been updated with a modern fully equipped kitchen and a new bathroom. Outside there is a deck and ‘quiet’ areas for sitting and taking in the fabulous views and a newly installed 21ft in ground pool. There is a plethora of things to do here, cycling, walking, all water sports, horse riding, quad bike riding, go carting and mountain sports.
We have been hosting guests in The Lodge for the past 10 years. We moved to Italy in 2005 with our three children, four horses, and two dogs. We lived in the 'Cascina' backing onto The Lodge, and currently spend our time flitting between Italy and the UK. My Mother lives in the property next door and is a great asset. Her and her partner Pino make all the guest feel very welcome. My Mother Dee is always on hand for any issues, directions or information. Pino spends alot of time in his fruit and vegetable garden (Orto) from which Lodgers are able to purchase fruit, vegetables and eggs. He is also a fabulous chef and can cook up something tasty for guests on arrival or during their stay.
SAMANTHA NUNN purchased this bungalow in 2004
I have been holidaying in and around Viverone since I was born and when we married 23 years ago my huband fell in love with the place. It really has the best of all worlds. Summers spent down by the lake, swimming, skiing, boating or fishing and Winters up the mountains, although I don't ski, I skate and tobaggan and like picnicing in the snow. We bought The Cascina for its peace and tranquility, the fact that we are able to walk, horse ride, motorcycle or mountain bike ride on our doorstep was and still is a major bonus, the views just capped it off.
We able to drive from our house in the UK to our home in Italy in around 15 hours. Surrounded by 4 airports we are able to have a choice. Although it is set up in the hills in a quiet and tiny hamlet you are not far from supermarkets, retail outlets, the hussle and bussle of Ivrea and Biella particularly on market days and as I have said the lake, mountains and a little further the sea.
'The welcome items were very welcome! I think its an excellent combination of rustic and modern comfort'
'We have utterly enjoyed our stay in these gorgeous surroundings;
We stayed here for a week in summer 2014 as a family of 4 with 2 young children. Samantha and her family were very welcoming and were on hand (next door) for anything we needed. The accommodation was just the right size for our family and the pool was a bonus. Best of all the location was very central for a lot of attractions that we wanted to visit such as Milan, Turin, the Alps, Lake Maggiore, and many smaller towns and castles. We had our own car so it was easy to get around and almost everything was within 1 hours drive. Thank you!
The Ligurian coast is within 2 hours drive.
Turin Airport is 40 mins drive. Milan Malpenza within an hour. Milan Linate just over an hour. Milan Bergamo an hour and 20 mins. Car hire is not essential but it is recommended.
