This beautiful two bedroom, second (top) floor air-conditioned apartment with free wi-fi internet , has a large private terrace, with jacuzzi and built in BBQ. The open plan kitchen, sitting, dining room has large sliding doors with views over the lagoon & a side door giving access to the large private terrace. The bedrooms have sliding doors with access to the terrace.

Santa Luzia is a delightful fishing village famous for it's octopus, 3 klms west of the Roman town of Tavira which now has a large shopping complex & multyplex cinema.

The surrounding countryside is a haven for bird watching, walking & cycling

Our apartment overlooks to Ria Formosa Natural park to the Isla de Tavira where the 14 klm beach can be enjoyed. It is reached either by a short ferry ride from the village, a short walk from the apartment, or via the little floating bridge at Barril.

Santa Luzia, Tavira & the surrounding countryside is a haven for bird life, walking & cycling.

The hills behind Tavira offer wonderful views, walks, cork oaks & in spring the stunning mimosa & numerous wild flowers. There are some lovely restaurants specializing in wild game.

Day tours can be taken from Tavira to Seville, Gibralter & a visit to the Cork Oak Factory & many others

First class apartment

Stayed here 4 weeks and couldn't of wished for a better apartment. Very spacious and well equipped. 2 minutes walk to superb restaurants and Rio Formosa. Useful to have a car but it's possible to manage without. Very good cycle tracks in both directions along the coast.

Special interest holidays:

Riding stables 5 klms, tennis & swimming pool in Tavira.


The wonderful Ila de Tavira is a 14 klm long sandspit island just across the lagoon and is reached by a ferry in the summer or a walk/drive approx a mile to the the west and is reach via a floating bridge at Barril.


Santa Luzia is 30 klms east of Faro airport. Car hire is available at the airport or lacally if required.


Tavira is 3 klms to the east of Santa Luzia.

Tavira is a delightful town, unspoiled by high rise, on the banks of the Ria Gillao. Good shopping and excellent restaurants. Regular boat trips are available on the lagoon.

Please shower before using the jacuzzi to remove sun lotion & sand.

The jacuzzi takes approximately 24 hrs to empty refill & reheat, so please think of the people who may be following you at the end of your holiday & who may be looking forward to relaxing in the jacuzzi at the start of their holiday.

Notes on accommodation: It is a joy to sit on the terrace & watch the wonderful bird life, sometimes we see spoonbills, storks & flamingoes flying by. Bee eaters can be seen along the track at the back of the village burrowing into their nests in the banks. We aim to make the apartment feel 'a home away from home' & have included a selection of DVD's & books. We also leave a selection of basics, such as tea, coffee, pepper salt etc. The lovely Roman town of Tavira is 3 klms east of the village & is within easy walking distance. Outside: Large terrace with heated Jacuzzi, built in BBQ, outside dining for 6 and garden furniture. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included, and changed weekly. Beach towels are not included
