Why Private Villa chose Casalinho
We fell in love with the area, it is a fantastic place! We find that not only ourselves but our gests too, love to enjoy the real Portuguese culture and many historical places to visit within 1 hour from the villa, including Lisbon, Cascais, Estoril, Sintra, Nazare, etc. You can find lots to do and if you want just to relax it is great for that too.
What makes this Villa unique
The villa is by the lagoon and very close to the beach. The size of the property and its facilities can accomodate up to 14 people confortably. Our fully fenced swimming pool is ideal for younger children. The villa is in a quiet cul de sac with sucluded gardens.

Memorable family holiday
My sister was celebrating a major birthday milestone, and this villa ticked all the boxes for a large family gathering.
Great views and a secluded picturesque location. The villa is very spacious so that everyone has their space/privacy, but also has a great communal lounge/dinning area where everyone can eat and relax together.
It proved a great base to plan day trips, or alternatively just recover between trips by the pool which was very popular with the kids (young and “old”).
Location is perfect for culture vultures or for people who just want to chill on the beach – which is walking distance.
The huge inland lagoon is great for kids as it is shallow and as a result very safe. The beach is clean, free of large crowds and not spoilt by being overly commercialised unlike other "popular" locations.
Just hope that this part of Portugal retains its character in the future, as we would like to come back one day as it is a truly relaxing place to visit.
Thank you very much for your response. We are very please that you and your family had a good time.
Great location, great villa
The villa is located in a lovely quiet residential area which is a stone's throw from the lake. The accommodation is brilliant and there is a variety of rooms around a spacious lounge on the first floor with an annexe underneath providing more flexibility. The villa's pool is a good size. Everything is clean and there is even an open fire should you visit either end of the season as we have done twice. This October however it was warm enough so we didn't need any heating.
This part of Portugal is our favourite with plenty of things to do including golf, surfing, historic towns, mountain biking, nature study and a great range of restaurants to try out as well as well priced supermarkets for self-catering (the cost of living in Portugal is among the lowest in Europe).
Thank you very much for your kind review. We are very happy that you have once again enjoyed your stay!
Rosana and Robert
The villa was ideal for us, a large 3-generation family going on our first holiday together in years. There was something for everyone one-site and the beach only a short walk from the villa. The pool was larger than expected and came with a full range of pool toys, mostly found in the basement.
Also, unexpectedly, a log burning fire. We didn't absolutely need it, but the children had so much fun gathering firewood and seeing the fruit of their labour, that it was worth it.
Obidos was only 20 minutes drive and well worth the visit, not least for the supermarket. The fortified town had many good restaurants and was a delight to visit. Not to be missed!
I am glad you had an enjoyable family holiday at our villa and thank you for your review.
Best wishes, Robert & Rosana
Lovely Villa in a fabulous place
We have stayed at this beautiful villa a couple of times. It is spacious, clean and well equipped with a lovely heated outdoor swimming pool. There were 8 of us holidaying and there was more than enough space in the main house. The villa is child friendly with the pool being fenced off which is a great safety feature.
It is a peaceful place to stay but is only a short walk to a local bar and a couple of restaurants (one with a stunning view). We spent some days lazing by the pool having a BBQ in the evening. Other days we would wander down to the lagoon or one of the beautiful nearby beaches or even visit one of the local towns. The golfers in our group really enjoyed playing at a couple of the courses that were a short distance away too.
Villa Lobos is a lovely place to stay in a great location and we really enjoyed exploring the Silver Coast. We can't wait to return for another visit.
Thank you very much for your great review, we're very pleased that you enjoyed the area and our villa.

Special interest holidays:
Within one hour distance of many historical places and areas of amazing natural beauty. Great place for water sports, kite surfing, cycling, walks or just relaxing!
Only a few minutes walk to the lagoon famous for it's gentle waters ideal for children, fishing, clam collecting windsurfing & sailing. Close by (15 min walk or 2 min drive) is a very large beach, part lagoon part sea, with fine clear sands forming dunes leading to a long spectacular cliff coastline with many miles of stunning beaches. Around the lagoon is woodlands made easily accessible by a newly built cycle/foot path (passing close to the Villa) an ideal location for walking and exploring.
Lisbon airport is 60 miles (about 55 min drive) via the A8 motorway. Use of a car is essential. A supermarket and other facilities can be found at Obidos (15 minutes) or at Caldas da Rainha (20 minutes). There is a local small supermarket for basic needs near the beach in the high season. Also a fishman, baker and frozen food van calls on the street some days of the week.
The villa is ideally situated as central point to visit many places of interest: Obidos (famous medieval walled town) 15 min, Caldas da Rainha/Peniche/Baleal/Foz do Arelho 20 min, Nazare/São Martinho do Porto 30 min, Lisbon/ Sintra/ Mafra/ Fatima 55 min, Porto 2.5 hours. Other places to visit within an hour's drive include Alcobaça, Parque Natural de Serras Aire e Candeeiros (famous for its caves), wine route, Berlenga Islands (ferry at Peniche), plus many more.
Obidos and Caldas da Rainha have many banks, restaurants, bistros, shops, supermarkets, open markets for fruit/vegetables and antiques, theatre and cinema. Obidos loves using the town and it's walls as an open air theatre, it has become famous for it's productions and festivals through the whole year. We have lots of information about the area in the villa, but it is no harm to check on the Obidos Tourism office, they are very helpful and you can specify what you are looking for. The office is near the big car park. They have information about walks, leaflets about the festivals and all that is available in the area. You have a great variety of intrest such as birds, plants, geology, night walks, nature, pretty villages, buildings with architectural and historic note etc. The Portuguese are very proud about their history and religion. A visit to Nazare (you must try their barbecued sardines) and Fatima would give a good insight to their culture and history. Peniche is also another nice place to be visited. It has the old and the new town, an aquapark with slides and swimming pools, restaurants, clubs and the ferry visit to Berlengas islands which must be visited in spring (flowers season) and summer (water sports and cave tours) to have nothing missed out! Lisbon, Sintra, Mafra, Torres Vedras, Lourinha and other lovely places are all in good distance for a day tour. Cash point - available in most supermarkets and banks.
