Charming terrace in the middle of nowhere!
If it's rural isolation you're after this is the place for you. There is indeed plenty of space and equipment including a nice shower with plenty of hot water; beautiful but uneven floor upstairs; and a lovely, if neglected, garden. Any number of fantastic beaches are about 45 minutes away along the D19. Dinan is well worth a visit and the walls at St.Malo enclose an orgy of crepe and galette shops. The main disappointment - especially on the day when France were playing in the World Cup final - was that the TV didn't work! It was possible to enjoy the small, ancient collection of videos and DVDs. As well as no wifi, there was very little mobile coverage. All in all, we had a comfortable and restful holiday.
Peace and quiet in the French countryside
Never had such a quiet, relaxing holiday as this!
Only the sound of birdsong to disturb us. The Gite was adequate for our needs, and was as expected.
Rural and good-sized cottage with play barn and trampoline
The play barn and toys were hugely enjoyed by our two year-old. On the dry days she also enjoyed the trampoline. The bedrooms are very well-presented and a good size with authentic sloping floors and large windows. A very rural setting but only a couple of miles to Yvignac-La-Tour with a boulangerie and restaurant which has an amazingly valued 'Menu Ouvrier' at lunchtimes.
Perfectly quiet getaway in the beautiful French commune
The gite was perfect for us with comfy beds and a great shower and all amenities you need. Within driving distance to local shop and areas of interest for days out. This area is perfect for a quiet getaway with nice walks from the house should you not wish to venture out in the car.
The gite is typically French. Derek and Kate have catered for those with families and those without. A comfortable cosy home from home which was a joy to return to after a long day out and with everything you need for a lazy day in.
Thank you for a great stay
Lovely Gite and very spacious
A lovely Gite in a very rural location, very tranquil. The Gite was spotless and very well equipped. Full of character and very comfortable, would very much like to revisit one day. Thank you

The coast north of the gite is known as the Emerald Coast, it is rocky and very picturesque and is just over half and hour's drive from the cottage. It has some absolutely stunning beaches: St Jacut de la Mer, St Cast le Guildo and Le Val-André. Or you can just drive along the coast and find one of the many other beautiful beaches, parking is usually very easy and free.
Brittany is easily accessible, from the UK or Ireland by ferry or by plane, or by excellent roads from mainland Europe. If you are travelling by plane, Dinard airport is less than 25 minutes away from the gite/cottage and Rennes airport is about 50 minutes. Travelling by ferry gives even more options, with the ferry port at St Malo only 40 minutes away, both Roscoff and Caen just under two hours and Le Havre 3 hours away.
The gite/cottage is located in a quiet hamlet near the edge of the forest of Yvignac, only 2 minutes drive from the village of Yvignac-la-Tour. The village has a boulangerie (bakery), bar and restaurant. 8 minutes away from the cottage is the town of Broons, with more restaurants/bars, a Poissonnerie (fishmongers)), bouchers (butchers) and supermarkets. For anything you can't get there, the hypermarkets of Dinan are only 15 minutes away.
The gite/cottage is located in a very peaceful loactaion on the edge of the forest of Yvignac, whilst providing easy access to a large variety of places to go and things to do nearby.

If you want to do something a little more adventurous you could try sailing, windsurfing or kayaking with the saling school at Jugon les Lacs, cycling around the nearby lakes, along the rivers and canals.
