Great place to stay
We totally loved this place. Sue made everything so easy and made us feel comfortable. It was clean, conveniently located, surrounded with great people with smile. I would certainly recommend this place. Absolutely brilliant! We'll surely be back again.
Many thanks for your review Jon. I’m so pleased you all enjoyed your stay and will look forward to welcoming you back to the apartment in the future
The apartment is a leisurely 15 min stroll to Kalkan's own (pebbled) beach and platformed sun bathing areas by the sea. The breathtaking Kaputas beach (no facilities) with its turquoise sea and golden sand is a 10 min drive away, or 25 min away is Patara beach with it's huge expanse of sandy beach and warm sea. Here you can hire loungers and parasols and can partake of refreshments/food at the small bar. Kalkan has numerous beach clubs accessible by water taxi from the harbour.
Dalaman airport is the main airport for Kalkan and is served by several major airlines. Approx 1½ hour (110km) from Kalkan by car. Transfers can be arranged if required. Car hire is not essential but is useful for visiting the many nearby places of interest.
There are too many sites of interest to mention here, but popular trips include visits to the village of Kas, gorge walking at Saklikent, historic sites include Xanthos, Patara, Letoon, Tios and Myra. or visit the town of St Nicholas reported to be the birthplace of Santa Clause. Take a sea trip to the sunken city of Kekova, with a stop off at Simena and its hilltop castle or just spend the day sailing round the local bays.
Kalkan once a sleepy Greek fishing village, has in recent years been transformed into one of the most exclusive and sought after locations in Turkey. The views are magnificent whilst the village still maintains its charm and old character, with cobbled streets and old Greek houses. Kalkan is famous for its many roof-top restaurants, all with fabulous harbour views, which provide both international and Turkish cuisine. There are also a handful of lively bars for the more energetic. The coast around Kalkan is also famous for its excellent scuba-diving and Kalkan has several diving schools.
