Very good location, great value for money.

We are a family of four who spent a wonderful week in Rome over Easter. The flat is not huge but it does the work and is well equipped and perfectly clean. Located close to the Metro, a bus terminal and Colloseum. A great base for exploring wonderful Rome.

Loved Staying Here

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying here while we were in Rome! We arrived at the apartment by subway and it was only about a five minute walk from the Manzoni station. We arrived at the building and were buzzed in by Alessandro right away. The apartment is accessed by a tiny elevator or a marble staircase. The building was very quiet. The apartment was clean with plenty of space. The bathroom is snug, but has everything you need and we never ran out of hot water. We ate out every night so we didn't use the kitchen. The bedroom was bright and pretty and the bed was comfortable. The windows opened right onto some ruins. We were there in May and the temperature was perfect. In the morning we would close and latch the heavy outside shutters to keep out the sun and at night when we got back home we would open the windows to catch the cool breezes. We didn't need to use either the air conditioning or the heat. The street below is busy and it was fun to look out the window and watch the traffic and the pedestrians. The apartment is between two subway stations and has easy access to buses and trams. My husband took walks in the early morning and we often arrived in the late evening and we always felt safe. We loved the Rome Subway system and found it easy to get to the Vatican Museum and the Villa Borghese. The Colosseum was just over a kilometer away so we walked (about 20 minutes) and sampled fruit, pastries, and gelato along the way. Thank you so much for a great stay!

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

First off, let me start by saying Alessandro was a great landlord! He already had a few refreshments for us by the time we arrived. He was so accommodating! Our flight arrived early and he went out of his way to meet us at the apartment 2 hrs early!! I was VERY thankful or else we would have been standing out in the hot sun with all of our luggage. The apartment felt like home by the end of our two week stay. It was very spacious so we had plenty of room for 3 people. Not only was it spacious but it felt like the safest place in the entire city!!! It is about a 5 min walk to the metro line B (San Giovanni stop)... (when leaving the apartment turn left then right at the main street. Walk all the way down past the bus stop and taxi stop, cross the intersection, walk under the arches, keep walking about 30 steps and you there! Just walk down the stairs ). If I was in Rome again, I wouldn't stay anywhere but alessandro's place.

Thank you so much for having us Alessandro! :)

Great Place & Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights at the beginning of December and loved it. Alessandro's directions from Termini Station were easy to follow and the location was great to see all of the historic sights in Rome.

The apartment is perfect for two people, though it sleeps six. It was great to have the ability to make meals at the apartment to save a bit of money (though every meal we ate out in Rome was amazing!) and there were a few markets close to pick up a few groceries to tide us over. Alessandro provided us with a map where he pointed out the closest markets for us. You are literally just a ten minute walk to the Colosseum & Roman Forum, and a quick train ride to Vatican City. We took the Metro to the Trevi Fountain and it was a quick and easy trip.

Listing description was accurate, the photos capture the charm of the place and the property was clean and well maintained!

I will say that we tried gelato at a few different places throughout our stay, but we found the best little gelateria was just down the street from us. It is on Via Emanuele Filiberto. Exit the apartment and turn left, heading towards Via Emanuele Filiberto, cross the street and turn right and it is right before the stoplight at the main intersection. It is called Gelateria Capitan Cono. LOVED it! :)

All in all it was a great stay and if we ever come back to Rome again we will definitely stay here again if it is available! We do recommend this place (and have told everyone about it when recalling our trip!) Thanks for the hospitality, Alessandro!

Lovely, central, spotlessly clean and friendly!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for three nights in July 2013. The apartment is a little hidden gem, it's one of the few places that actually doesn't overlook another building, it's overlooking one of the old city walls.

10 minutes walk to the colosseum and 2 minutes from one of the best gelataria we have ever been to. Head right from the apartment and it's the second one you reach nearest the traffic lights.

The apartment itself can sleep 6 easily although 2 in the lounge and 2 in the mezzanine bedroom might not be to everyones taste. The place is spotlessly clean, very well equiped and very modern but homely. The kids loved the mezzanine bedroom but it's definitly not for the under 6's or elderly / infirm.

The main bedroom is spacious with the same outlook as the lounge and it's relatively quiet given it's central location. It's on a one way street making it less busy. The stair is well maintained and appears to be occupied by permanent residents so there's very littly noise unlike the hotels with lifts going, guests charging in and out of rooms slamming doors and wakening everyone up at ungodly hours. This place really is delightful.

You can park on the street for up to 8 hours for 4 euro I think it was, not too pricey and there is a tree covered car park a hundred yards up the road.

One word of warning, when in Rome always check the prices in cafes and restaurants before ordering anything. Don't get caught out with coffees at a cost of 10 euro each!

Alessandro and his wife are delightful and we wouldn't think twice about staying there again when we go back to Rome.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the house of Alessandro and Teresa.

The house is not very big, but it is very cozy and clean.

There were four of us and we were comfortable - one couple slept in the bedroom and another in the mezzanine of the living room. Once the door to the room was closed, there was privacy for everyone.

The kitchen in my opinion is not fit for large meals, but it fits perfectly to prepare breakfast (although we've always taken it on the street), for example.

The bathroom is small but has everything you need and a great shower.

The location is great, in ten minutes we are at the Colosseum.

The only negative is the internet - in addition to being very weak, it is only available until 11pm which was frustrating when we got home and wanted to plan something for the next day

As for the owners, there were 5 stars!

We arrived around midnight and did not have any problems - as they live next door, they received us at that hour.

Teresa, who, like us, is Portuguese, made a point of getting to know us (it was Alessandro who received us on arrival) and went to speak to us a bit, which was fine.

When she found out that on the day of departure we needed to be at the airport at 06:00, she immediately arranged to get us a taxi, which, ten minutes before the scheduled time, called us to say that was waiting for us.

I highly recommend this house and if I return to Rome I will not hesitate to stay there again.
