About Selma

I come from a hotel background and have spent my life ensuring the holidaymakers have a time to remember and that all their needs are catered for with as little effort or hassle on their part. I have spent years finding the best restaurants, the best days out and want to share this so that everyone who visits to love the island as much as I do. I can advise on flights and assist with transfers and car hire so there is less hassle for you and everything is there in place for your arrival

Why Selma chose Kyrenia

We have spent a lot of time in Cyprus and love the people the food and the environment. The life style is relaxed and there are no hen or stag parties. Kyrenia has so much character and warmth that we wanted to spend more time here. The location is really central which means we can walk everywhere for shopping and dining out. But we always have a car as we do not trust the privately run and unregulated public transport.

What makes this Apartment unique

My partner bought this as a little pied a terre for her and her young family. It is close to the town and close to Oscars hotel and beach. It works well for families with kids. Now we are empty nesters it is perfect for an active retired couple who want to explore, relax, enjoy the sun and have easy access to all the best restaurants

                                    There is a fabulous new golf course and club-house 20 minutes drive west of Kyrenia. The facilities are top notch and the restaurant food and setting is raved about.

                                    There is good inexpensive skiing on the Troodos Mountains which are 2 hours drive away. There are 3 lifts with short runs and one with longer runs and a wider variety. for conditions check the skicyprus website It is not enough for a ski holiday but a great way of getting two or three days skiing in between December and April

At ground level there is a 14m shared swimming pool with private sunbeds and chairs. Here you can also enjoy the view. Outside: The Penthouse has its own private terrace patio that blends into the rest of the accommodation through wide folding doors to make it one large area. Sit back and enjoy a sundowner while the evening sun illuminates the coastline and the five finger mountains. Two sofas, coffee table, 6 seater dining table for outdoor living. At ground level there is a 14m shared swimming pool with private sunbeds and chairs. This is becoming more private as the hedging becomes more mature. Here you can also enjoy the view. As we are in the town there are areas outside of our grounds where the locals will leave rubbish, unfortunately this is a feature of the island but it is slowly changing. Utility Room: Dishwasher and washing machine in penthouse. Store at poolside. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and house towels supplied. A beach towel will be provided for each person.We also supply a hair dryer for your use. Other: The greatest feature of this penthouse is the sizable terrace which opens up off the living room through large folding doors, where you can sit on the outdoor sofas to enjoy the view with cool drink, an area for outdoor dining beside a built in BBQ.

                                                                Wonderful base for our holiday

                                                                This was my first visit to Cyprus with my three golf buddies. The Kyrenium Golf Club is excellent, much better than we expected in such a hot climate. We had 10 days in Lyn's Penthouse and played golf every day apart from Sunday when we went to the recommended Lamb in the Well, which was the best lamb we have eaten, but it is a bit of a hike. The transfer driver had our keys and our rental was sitting waiting for us to get straight off to the course without wasting time. The penthouse is really convenient to the harbour with the tourist restaurants but we followed the guide in the penthouse and found some great places to eat away from the touristy areas, our favourite Manipenies is only I/2k away. Shopping for essentials was easy in Mahmouds supermarket just round the corner. We ate out apart from breakfast so didn't get a much chance to use the kitchen. After our cool off in the pool we enjoyed our sundowners on the patio, looking out over the sea and watching the boats. Then out for dins. This is a beautiful, unspoilt part of the world with really friendly people and we will be back again for the golf.

                                                                The penthouse is very convenient to the restaurants and shops of the old and new town yet is is not in middle of the busy bussle of the town centre.

                                                                My partner and I stayed here for a wonderfully relaxing two weeks in March this year.

                                                                The apartment is extremely well appointed with a very comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is well equipped to which means we were able to take full advantage of the lovely fresh fruit and veg fresh fish lovelyfree range chicken that were available in the local supermarket and market.

                                                                The location was perfect for us as we could walk to the local shops and to some very nice local restaurants in two minutes. The main town centre with the beautiful old Roman harbour was a short stroll. The views are stunning with a great view of the new harbour and the ocean and the five finger mountains. The locals were extremely friendly and our neighbours give us great advice about things to do. On the downside the area outside of the complex it's not kept tidy, but this is the case for all of Turkish Cyprus.

                                                                Lynn's agent Sediq was extremely helpful with transfers and making sure we have a car to explore the island. We ran out of gas halfway through cooking dinner and he brought us a replacement cylinder within 25 minutes.

                                                                We loved the old town of Kyrinia with its castle and ancient harbour and explored widely by car. Our best outing was up the Karpaz Peninsula where we stayed overnight at the Oasis

                                                                Kyrenia, Kyrenia, Cyprus

                                                                Special interest holidays: Kyrenia Harbour offer a wide range of boating activies, day trips, deep sea fishing, Scuba training and wreck diving. The surrounding area is wonderful for hill walking, exploring Crusader castles at the sea and mountaintop, finding Roman pottery in old harbours and walking in the amphitheatres used 2000 years ago by the Romans. Coast/Beach: The penthouse overlooks the new harbour and coastline. Oscar's Hotel beach is about 350 metres away. You can use this beach if you buy drinks or food from the hotel. There are several other good beaches - Turtlle beach, Lara beach and Escape beach which are 10 to 20 minutes drive away. Travel: Travel from the UK to Ercan in the Turkish side or Larnaca in the Greek side is easy. The taxi to the penthouse is 25 minutes from Ercan and 90 minutes from Laranca. Car hire is not essential for enjoying the town and its restaurants - but you will find them reasonably priced and give you great access elsewhere. Distances: Town centre 2 mins drive 10 mins walk. Turtle beach 15 mins drive. Nicosea, 20 mins drive. St Hillarian Castle 15 mins drive. Salamis Ruins 60 mins drive. Further Details: The restaurants around and beyond Kyrenia are superb and reasonably priced. The old Carob warehouses round the old harbour are now home to restaurants overlooking the old harbour and Crusader Castle. The Ottoman on the hill and the Tree of Idleness at Bellapais Abbey give stunning sunset views for dinner. Shopping for souvenirs is fun, you can haggle but you won't be hassled or canvassed (unless buying a tent). Shopping for food is great as most of the stuff we miss from home is available but you won't miss it because the local produce is so good.
