Contemporary apartment in Castello delle Forme, Nr. Perugia - peace and tranquility in the heart of green Umbria
- english, german, finnish
Hi, meet Ruth and Mike, and welcome to our property page. In 2005 we spent 5 glorious months working and travelling in Umbria. We fell in love with the place, the art, the food and wine and particularly the wonderful city of Perugia. We found the apartment, with the fabulous view and didn't want to leave. We are busy professionals in the field of education and have lived and worked in different parts of the world, most recently in Ireland and in Italy. We have four children who, sadly, are beginning to spread their wings although we have two grandchildren and, hopefully, more on the way. We could happily live here in Castello delle Forme and love nothing more than to escape the hurly-burly of the city for the fun and tranquility of community life. Do come and experience it for yourselves!
Why Owner chose Marsciano
The village of Castello delle Forme captures everything that is wonderful about rural life in Umbria. We are close to the city of Perugia, an endless source of fascination and learning, we have stunning views across the Tiber valley, we have all of the amenities and friendship that a small community can bring. The weather really warms up in June and then the pool is a real necessity. The apartment is nicely self-contained, modern and allows for very easy living, and we have good access to a wide range of facilities whilst also enjoying privacy and seclusion from the madding crowds.
What makes this Apartment unique
The apartment has all 'mod cons' and has allowed Ruth to chance to infect it with her own style of furniture and fittings. It is very comfortable, has parking, lifts, central heating and air-conditioning, and is in easy reach of a wealth of eating places.

A great spot from which to explore Umbria
The apartment was modern and tastefully furnished. It provided a comfortable base for our family holiday in Umbria.
Beautiful Apartment with Stunning View
Absolutely loved this apartment it exceeded our expectations. Exceptional furniture and well equipped. Lovely pool area with sunny spots and shade as it was very hot. Lots to see and do in the area and the owners recommendations for restaraunts were spot on. The food served was exceptional, service excellent. Would highly recommend this accommodation in our fifteen years of using HomeAway this has been our favourite in Europe. Visit Spello a mountain town. Communication with Mike the owner was excellent. Lovely bed loved our stay.
Definitely stunning apartment
Beautiful breath-taking views from every room. Very relaxing environment. Very quiet and safe village .Well decorated apartment , modern and very clean. You have everything you need to make your stay comfortable, apartment was easy to keep clean too, dishwasher , broom , mops. The owners have thought of everything ,from shops , restaurants , attractions to swimming caps and much more. The other residents are very helpful and welcoming too. We really had a relaxing family time. There’s lots to do and see around if you wish to explore the area. The owners were very responsive to any queries and available on the first day to make sure we settled well. There was bottle of Chardonnay left as a welcoming gift which was a lovely touch and was enjoyed on the lovely balcony. Definitely a home away from home , the whole family loved it.
The apartment was everything we needed for two adults and two teens.
The apartment was really clean, spacious and comfortable with fantastic views of the countryside. It was our first visit to Umbria and we will be back. The village is a beautiful small picturesque village with no other tourists in sight. It was populated by characters who all seemed classic Italian. The countryside is beautiful and very accessible. There are lots of good restaurants within drivable distance.
The apartment has three very comfortable bedrooms and is bright and airy throughout. Ruth/Mike had left the most comprehensive instructions about everything in and around the apartment t, superior to any guide book. I would highly recommend this apartment.
second time in the apartment and loveing it.
Everything is good in this apartment. You can buy local food and wine to prepare and enjoy at the balkony, ore go out to dinner in one of many local restaurants.
But you need a car to come around.
This year enjoyed Perugia jazz-festival.....a wonderfull eksperience.
We will be back!!
Well placed with stunning views
Loved our stay, we could have sat on the balcony all day taking in the view. Friendly neighbours and lots of good vineyards within easy reach. I hired a bike from Harley Davidson Perugia to explore the area and my wife went for a hack at a local stable. Great place, owners were very easy to deal with.
