Le Monjat (8+8)

The barn offers a well light open planned living (sleeps 8). With 2 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms, suitable for families or 4 couples. 2 bathrooms.

The cottage is light & spacious. Upstairs are 1 double bedroom, and 2 twin rooms, all with exposed beams and very high ceilings.

If rented as one property, there is also the Pigeon House (sleeps 2) a separate studio situated just 4 meters away from the house! Provides a double with en-suite facilities. Perfect for a peaceful retreat.

Both have open plan kitchen/dining is kitted with all the modern appliances and more! (Wide professional gaz cooker, dishwashing machine, washing machine, microwave, grill, big fridge/freezer, rotisserie etc).

Our lounge areas are fitted with a wide screen TV (English sat TV), DVD player.

In a 1 hectare private garden, the 2 cottages and the 10 x 5m private pool have a prime position for stunning views over the rolling hills, and amazing sunsets! Set in the heart of the renowned Dordogne, you will be at a short ride from all the medieval castles of the Dordogne Valley, the world famous prehistorical caves of Les Eyzies and Lascaux, as well as, of course, the wine region of Bordeaux of which the first vineyards start 30 mins away from the cottages!

Notes

Booking Notes:
25% of rental fee will secure your booking. Full payment is due 8 weeks prior to commencement of your booking. A refundable security deposit of £500 will be asked with full payment. The cottages are to be left as you would like to find them. However, we offer an end of stay cleaning service for 75€ per cottages, payable locally.

Changeover Day:
The arrivals in the cottages will be planned from 5pm onwards on Saturdays, while the departure should be no later than 10am on Saturdays. All of it for cleaning purposes. Thank you for your understanding.


The barn & house (+ Pigeon House) can be rented individually or are ideal for larger groups



Prices are per cottage per week. Winter special £500 per month plus utility bills November – March.

Notes on accommodation: Fans are available for the summer. For the comfort of all subsequent guests, smoking is not allowed, and pets are not welcomed on the property, thank you for your understanding. Outside: The cottages are set on a one hectare garden, filled with magnificent mature trees, and a wide range of all sorts of fruit trees, of which you are more than welcome to help yourself and enjoy! Each cottages has its own exclusive terrasse, a barbecue, with garden tables, chairs and large umbrellas for outside lunches. Our 10x5m swimming pool, thanks to its salt system will be gentle on your skin and eyes. Sun loungers and umbrellas are surrounding the pool, from which you will admire some of the most beautiful sunsets!

Coast/Beach:

In just over 2 hours drive, you can reach the Atlantic Coast, climb on the highest dune in Europe, La Dune de Pyla (117 meters high), and enjoy the fresh oysters of La Baie d'Arcachon.

Travel:

Bergerac airport, only 35mns drive away is the closest. Direct low cost flights from Stansted and other destinations (Flybe, Ryanair). Bordeaux, 2 hours drive away, has direct flights from Gatwick, Manchester and more. Car is essential, and car hire places are found in all of the above airports. Should you come with your own car, the 6 hours drive from all the Channel Ferry terminals is easy and pleasant thanks to the well built fast motorway system.

Distances:

The stunning medieval town of Sarlat (in which many movies were shot) is just over 35 mns drive. The prehistorical caves of Les Eyzies are just over 20mns drive. The beautiful town of Bergerac, start of the wine area, is 30 mns away.

Further Details:

Each villages in the area take turns for market day. Hence, there is not one day in the week without one of those local attractions happening in the vicinity. The Tuesday Le Bugue market is renowned in the whole area, and is just over 10mns drive. You will find there all other shops, pharmacies, and supermarkets.

Cendrieux, our village, is 5mns walk away and has a supermarket, and a post office.
