Apartment in Playa Bastian, Costa Teguise, Lanzarote - Family Location, 3 mins to Beach, 2 mins to Shops, Bars etc

Beautiful 2 bedroom apartment, with 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies, a new kitchen area, Sky TV and Wi-Fi. Master bedroom with king-size bed is en-suite; the second bedroom has twin single beds and separate bathroom. The apartment is very safe and secure would suit families. It is situated on the first floor, approx 10 steps. The complex is private and mainly British families own the properties, some as holiday homes others living there. The apartment is set in beautiful well-maintained gardens, terraces and pedestrian walks straight on to the beach. It is very safe for children as there are no roads to cross to the beach.

Take a leisurely 10-minute stroll along the seafront promenade (with no traffic) to the left and you find yourself in the livelier ‘centre’ of the resort.

Take a leisurely 5-minute stroll along the seafront promenade (with no traffic) to the right and you will pass the King of Spain’s villa in the west to eastern end of Costa Teguise.

There are three swimming pools + baby pool, a restaurant, plus two pool bars offering drinks and lunch time snacks on the complex. The main pool is solar heated the other two smaller pools are heated during the winter months.

There are several lovely beaches and shops within a few minutes of the complex, including a supermarket with excellent bakery right across the road.

The Airport is approx 15 mins away and costs approx. 20 euros in a cab. There are banks and car hire very nearby as well.

The decor in the apartment is typical Spanish Villa style, as is the furniture. All bed linen, bath towels (not beach/pool towels) and kitchen utensils are supplied, and a cleaner visits regularly.

This apartment and location is superb, and very relaxing in an excellent climate. The complex has its own wifi which is adequate for some people; however we found having 2 teenage daughters that wifi is an absolute priority. So with this in mind we have installed Wifi for your use.

About The Owner

We are Mark and Helen and we have two daughters, Ellie who is 17 and Georgia who is 15. We are quite an active family and love sport. Helen and I both belong to a local running club and regularly run local races and approx two to three full marathons a year, both our children are good swimmers and belong to a local swimming club, we love being outdoors and are lucky that we live in Cornwall with beautiful beaches and lots to do outside. I moved to Cornwall from London in 1997 this is where Helen and I met as she had moved here some five years earlier from Leicester. It's a lovely place and when the weather is really bad then we just wish away the hours until we are back in lovely Lanzarote with the non stop sunshine, having said we are sporty, and that is " true" we also like a drop of wine!

Why The Owner chose Costa Teguise - Teguise

We had been to Lanzarote several times and had fallen in love with the island, so we decided to buy a property in Costa Teguise, our favourite place. We are so pleased we did, other than the investment potential its a great place for us to spend holidays with the kids and our friends. The climate is great its very child friendly and safe, there are many good restaurants lovely beaches and really nice place just to sit in the sun and relax, it's the best buy we ever made. Our dream is that when the kids are grown up Helen and I will spend a few months of the year in Lanzarote and a few in Cornwall, so when its bad weather here we will hop on a plane to the sun, and when we get home sick hop on a plane back, 'well that's the plan!' you have to have dreams don't you ?

What makes this apartment unique

The great thing about our property is the location. Playa Bastian is a really lovely complex very safe and very clean, there are lots of British people who own places there and quite a few live there all year, so its a real home from home. Very very friendly we have made loads of friends on the complex and when we go out there its a bit like coming home after a long trip. We have often been out there and hardly left the complex all week, just being a bit lazy sitting around the pool or having a drink at Brendon and Sheelagh's pool bar, then stroll the 50 yards back to our apartment for a spot of lunch on the balcony looking out at the view of the Atlantic and thinking 'what a hard life this is!' Playa Bastian is thought to be one of the very best complexs in Costa Teguise - for me the best!

Coast/Beach:

Playa Bastian beach is a 3 minute walk, and Las cucharas beach is a 10 minute walk, and many other beaches near by, Las cucharas is excellent for wind surfing/surfing all the beaches have shops and bars nearby.

Travel:

Arrecife airport is 15 minutes in a cab and costs approx 17/18 euros.

Distances:

Costa Teguise town is 10 minute walk from the complex, however there are all the amenities shops banks bars restaurants car hire and so on within a 2 minute walk. Timanfaya the only active volcano on the island is worth a visit, where your food will be cooked over craters in the ground, but don't worry the last eruption was 1736, there are many cacti gardens, also Camel rides and art galleries for those interested in the work of Caesar Manrique (Lanzarote artist / engineer / politician).

Further Details:

The temperature in Lanzarote never drops below 22 celsius and that's in Jan/Feb - in August it reaches 35C. There are only approx 14 days rain a year. Most of the supermarkets stock English tea and coffee, and changing pounds to euros is much the same all over the island. Most of the bars, shops and restaurants take major credit and debit cards. For more information once you are there, we leave an information folder in the apartment for your convenience, we ask you to leave this there for the next guests.

Notes on accommodation: Very suitable for families/children, The lady who cleans the apartment lives nearby, and is from the UK. She is only too happy to help with any problems that may arise during your stay in our lovely apartment. We will supply her details when you book the apartment on the beautiful island of Lanzarote. Outside: There are three pools on the complex plus a paddling pool next to the pool bar, (heated) for the use of the residents and guests only; there are sunbeds and furniture, and a pool bar, also a shaded area near the bar. Beautiful manicured Cactus gardens, and private parking. One of the best complex's in Costa Teguise. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels & linen included, the cleaner comes in weekly to change linen & towels. Other: The apartment is non smoking, please respect this, smokers are welcome to smoke on either of the two balconies, we hope you all understand, Thank you for your co-operation.

Great

We had a lovely 10 day stay here. First impressions were great. We arrived at 11.30am not expecting the apartment to be ready until 4pm, but, it was. Location is key for us, although we have always stayed near the centre of Costa Teguise this was lovely, some lovely restaurants and bars especially dickens bar.

The apartment itself is great! Only down side we found was no washing machine, so had to hand wash part way through the week, also, a change of bedding and towels would of been nice too. But suppose that's being fussy.

The balconies in the apartment are great, wake up and have a cup of tea/coffee Sat listening to the outdoors is fantastic. The complex I found very "clicky" and out of place. Didn't put us off though and still enjoyed our stay. Would recommend this apartment 100%

A piece of heaven to us.

This is our third stay with the Squires in their wonderful apartment in Playa Bastian, Costa Teguie, Lanzarote. The owners have taken the trouble to refurbish the property and it all looks lovely. It has been decorated to a very high standard. New lighting has been installed, new curtains and matching cushions, new bed, new lounge furniture ie coffee table and beautiful traditional sideboard. Both bathrooms are furnished to a high standard.The apartment is very well equipped and there is nothing we would say that can be done to improve the property. It is just so welcoming when you open the door for the first time and walk into an exceptionally clean apartment. What more can we say but we will be returning there god willing. We can't wait until the next time to get this piece of heaven that is so quiet yet very welcoming. Thank you to the Squire family for providing us with the just perfect of accommodation.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for this wonderful review - it is so very pleasing to know people recognise our hard work keeping our apartment up to a high standard. Mel (our cleaner) also works very hard helping us to maintain these standards. We have made lots of new improvements and are always replacing things as they get worn out. This year alone we have replaced some of the living-room furniture and have also updated some 'behind the scenes' things, such as the electrics and electrical fittings. Hopefully all these changes will help to enhance our guests holiday experience.

Comfortable apartment in a lovely location

This apartment is comfortable and homely, there are two balconies, one with quite a large table where we had breakfast and lunch each day, and the other is off the main bedroom with just a couple of easy chairs. The main bedroom also has a en suite bathroom which is really useful, particularly if there are guests in the second bedroom. There are 3 pools on the site, 2 of which are heated in the winter months.

The location is really good, it's a quiet area within a few minutes walk to the beach and to Pueblo Marinero (The Square) where there are lots of bars and restaurants.

Well equipped, superbly situated apartment. Clean throughout. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely holiday from start to finish. Weather was wonderful apartment was lovely and clean and suited our needs perfectly. Well situated and we'll equipped with everything we needed. We had two nearly 18 year Olds with us and they were able to go off on their own without us having to worry about them, plenty of things to do for us all. Went snorkeling with glass bottomed snorkels. Went karting. All great fun and fairly reasonable. Had a couple of trips on the bus to Puerto del carmen and Playa honda. Both had nice beaches worth going to and cheap on the bus. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Looking forward to returning next year.

As they found out to their benefit there is a regular bus service (bus stop is located right outside the complex - a literal stones throw!) to many places on the island. For the active holiday maker snorkeling & scuba diving as well as bike hire is available or you can just relax in the year round sun - the choice is yours.

We ask you to pay a deposit when booking, and the balance six weeks before you depart, please note we charge £325 per week for three people then a further £25 per person supplement with a max of six people, please note Owners direct have started adding a service charge which you do not need to pay if you are happy to pay us direct, their fee is approx 10% on top of our advertised rates of £325 per week plus the £25 per person supplement for any guests of four or more. We are able to recommend many good web sites for flight info, and if you are interested please don't hesitate to phone us.

Please note we have many contacts with other apartments on the complex so if you are a large party we may be able to help, please ask for more information.

Changeover Day:
Flexible, any unusual requests please ask as we can usually help in most cases.

Notes on prices:
We are very reasonable at £325 per week for three people, with a £25 per person supplement over three persons, our prices are exceptionally reasonable for this beautiful apartment.
We prefer not to split weeks during busy seasons; for example if your booking is for 10 days during busy times you will be charged the flat rate for 2 weeks. However to help keep our costs low please note if you are charged the daily rate there will be no midweek linen change.
