Martin and Teresa worked hard in the UK within the Finance industry and Teresa in the NHS. Both have travelled for many years, but decided to hang up their hats and take on a Gite in the heart of the Dordogne, an area they both love and have been to for many years.
They have good experience of entertaining and hospitality and enjoy making people feel at home at all times. Nothing is too much trouble.
Teresa Crawford purchased this cottage in 2011
We bought this property because we love the surrounding area, the history, the people and the food, not to mention the wine! It's peaceful, tranquil and totally stressfree, plus the only commuter traffic we get are cyclists, a few tractors and the post lady!! What's not to like?
Without exception, all previous guests have made very positive comments and these can be found in the Guest Book which is left in the gite. A selection of comments follows:
"A very clean and well equipped gite in an amazing setting".
"Many thanks for being wonderful hosts"
"Can rarely recall being so downcast at the thought of returning home. We have enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing and tranquil week"
"The gite has been just what we needed"
Gite Coquelicot was exactly what My wife and I had hoped it would be. It provided us with a very quiet, comfortable and well equipped base for our two weeks in the Dordogne. Teresa and Martin were delightful, helpful and most hospitable hosts. The onsite facilities were great - a lovely garden, a super pool, and a well equipped private patio area. For anybody seeking a quiet, restful holiday within easy reach of shopping facilities, delightful countryside and interesting places to visit
it ticks all the boxes
This gite is set in a perfect location to explore The Dordogne, with the property offering everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It is clean and well maintained. Teresa and Martin are perfect hosts and are on hand to offer their help and advice if required. I would recommend this property without hesitation.
The cottage was well equipped clean and well looked after.
Teresa and Martin were very good hosts always ready to help if needed and made our week memorable. We would highly recommend this property.
Martin and Theresa gave us a first class welcome, and the drinks on the patio was a lovely introduction to the area. The Gite was very clean with excellent facilities, and is ideally placed for all the key sightseeing areas around the region. It is also a great spot for relaxing. I would certainly hope to revisit in the future and would happily recommend the gite to anyone looking to visit the Dordogne
A very peaceful holiday in a beautiful part of the Dordogne within easy reach of Bergerac airport but not disturbed by airport noise. We were overjoyed when three tractors went by one day which was the most we saw during our stay - so much for rush hour!
The gite was spotlessly clean with a very well provided kitchen and constant hot water. Having no children we did not take advantage of the board games but did enjoy our exclusive use of the pool and surrounds during a very hot, dry week. At night it was so quiet we were able to enjoy the bird songs from the owls and nightingales, plus were regularly serenaded by the local tree frogs.
Teresa and Martin entertained us on their patio on a couple of nights with wonderful meals and copious quantities of the locally produced wine.
We both agreed that if were ever choose to move to France we would love to stay with Martin and Teresa whilst we are hunting for property in this lovely peaceful area.
When we were there we understand Teresa and Martin are thinking about providing a B&B service or even half board for the coming 2015 season which I think would be a wonderful stress free break for any touring holiday.
Fantastic small Gite in a great location for exploring the Dordogne. The property is very clean and the owners, Teresa & Martin were the perfect hosts. The pool is great to cool off in the heat and keeping the kids quiet! Short drive to some great restaurants. Nearby aqua park and towns to do some sightseeing. Recommended to all our friends.
