La Ferme des Amis comprises a farmhouse and self-contained chalet. The house was built over 150 years ago and is one of the original Alpine farms in Les Gets, with thick stone walls, large rooms and a distinct Savoyard style that give it a unique warmth and character. The property looks out over the valley of Les Gets and has stunning views while also being within minutes of the village. For summer there is a terrace and garden with spectacular views across the valley. For winter, the free shuttle bus stops directly outside the farmhouse. The chalet is in the converted barn above the chalet with independent access and complete privacy. From its wooden balconies it has great views across the valley to the mountains. The farmhouse and the chalet can be rented separately or together.
We are a British family of six who love skiing in the winter and alpine holidays in the summer!!
We chose Les Gets because it is a pretty village with a wide range of skiing and fabulous mountain restaurants. It's in the Portes du Soleil region so there is always plenty to do for everyone.
We started looking for a place to buy in 2004 and finally got lucky in 2006 when we heard that the Ferme des Amis was about to be offered for sale. It's a fantastic house and we spend lots of happy holidays there with family and friends.
Sadly we can't be there all the time (work, school, the usual reasons) so we are happy to rent it out in between times. We have a brilliant housekeeper who lives locally and ensures that everything is ready for your arrival, and will help with any queries during your stay.
"The Chalet was exactly what we were looking for to enjoy our time in the Alps. Spacious, comfortable and really felt like 'home' for the two weeks we were there." Mrs D, July 2013
"We have rented many chalets over the years, but this has to be the best. Very tasteful conversion within this stunning ancient farmhouse, perfect for a family/group of friends." Mrs F, December 2012
"The chalet was brilliantly located, on a hillside with amazing views and the local free bus stops right outside and always on time!" Mrs B, February 2012
"We came here at the last minute and had a really nice time. Lovely old french farmhouse which has been converted to a ski chalet. Absolutely charming, lovely and warm after a long day's skiing." Mrs S, December 2011
A truly charming place! Really warm, comfortable and cozy. Our group of 13 had plenty of space and everything is well thought through - all the kitchen equipment one could possibly need and a boiler that can handle all the showers in use at the same time!
We found the ski bus service to be excellent - a regular, free service and as pretty much the first stop on the route we were always able to get on.
It's really easy to transfer from Geneva with one of the ski services (we used Skiidugonzales who were excellent) and then there is no need to have a hire car.
I would highly recommend this property - excellent communication from the owners.
We had a fantastic ski week in the farmhouse It is really well equipped and had everything that we needed. Would highly recommend it but do hires car with winter tyres. Ski bus a bit of a nightmare.
Special interest holidays:
Big summer activity is mountain biking and the resort is a world centre of VTT (Velo Tout Terrain).
Les Gets has a wonderful lake that offers supervised swimming and a small beach area. At Montriond, a much, much larger lake offers fishing, canoeing and the usual range of water activities.
Geneva airport is an hour door-to-door from the house; we have a discount arrangement with a very reliable company and can help you make the booking.
It takes around 8 hours to drive from Calais.
1 mile to centre of Les Gets village.
5 miles to Morzine.
Local Sherpa supermarket just down the road. Nice walk up to superb bar/restaurant above the farmhouse.
