Finished to a luxurious standard with well established gardens, Villa Miya is roomy, comfortable, fully air-conditioned and has a large private pool.
NB. If you read this description elsewhere, it was nicked from us!
The shaded, porched front door opens into a spacious entrance hall with mosaic tiled washroom with mirror and WC. This leads to a large, open plan living and dining area which occupies most of the ground floor (6.5m x 7m).
To the left, the well fitted Italian kitchen (3.5m x 4m) with its granite worktops has all the stainless steel, modern appliances including: dishwasher, electric cooker/hob and grill, microwave, extra large family sized fridge (plenty of space for keeping drinks cool!) washing machine, toasted sandwich maker, kettle and toaster and may other utensils and crockery for at least 12 people.
Conveniently, a door leads from the kitchen to the off-street parking - very useful for the shopping!
The spacious, airy living room which overlooks the pool and patio area is equipped with a 32” LCD TV, Internet TV Box, DVD player and iPod player. A wide selection of DVDs are also available together with board games and books. FREE, unlimited broadband is available via the WiFi router. There is a marble, feature fireplace for those cosy intimate evenings and for those who like the warmth, the air-conditioning also doubles as central heating. There is comfortable seating for all in the lounge area, with 2 x 3-seater sofas, an armchair and large coffee table together with a dining table and chairs for six.
POOL AND GARDEN
The double patio doors lead out onto the large, paved poolside area housing a large patio table and parasol, with chairs for 8, under the pergola with traditional Mediterranean climbing flowers. There is a large stone, chimneyed barbeque. There are sun-loungers for 6 and a further 2 parasols. 6, large sunbed towels are also provided. The pool itself is 8m x 4m and features Roman steps for ease of entry and exit and varies in depth from 1 to 2 metres. A perfect and relaxing place to spend the whole day, soaking up the rays of the Cypriot sun.
The rest of the garden features traditional well established Mediterranean flowering shrubs to all borders, landscaped with palm trees and flowering herbs. The garden is completely private and secure, with perimeter fencing and gates to both sides of the villa. There are 6 pool side/garden lights and two exterior lights for when entertaining outdoors on an evening. The pool itself has its own light which is on an automatic timer.
There is also a “shed” to the side of Villa Miya for the storing of sun lounger cushions and parasols.
The large marble staircase leads past the large glass-block wall window to the landing from which the three bedrooms and the bathroom are accessed.
MASTER BEDROOM WITH ENSUITE
The 3.5m x 4m master bedroom features a super size bed and 2m x 3m walk-through dressing area. The dressing area contains huge amounts of floor-to-ceiling, built-in Italian wardrobes. There are two bedside cabinets with individual lamps and a main light switch above the bed. Double patio doors lead onto the balcony which overlooks the pool and garden, perfect for watching the Mediterranean sunset. A large mounted dress mirror hangs on the opposite wall. The large ensuite shower room has a WC, pedestal washbasin with mirror and full room-width shower cubicle with glass door and is fully tiled with mosaic to the walls. The bedroom has its own air-conditioning unit. Full bedding together with bathroom and poolside towels are provided.
Both twin bedrooms are 3.4m x 4m and 3.2m x 4m respectively and both face the front of Villa Miya, one having double patio doors leading to a balcony with views to the sea and to the fields. Both feature adult size, single beds (which could be pushed together if you wish!) and each bed has its own bedside cabinet or shelf and lamp. Both bedrooms feature floor-to-ceiling Italian wardrobes. Both have wall mounted dress mirrors as well as their own individual air conditioning units. Full bedding together with bathroom and poolside towels are provided.
The family sized bathroom features a full sized bath with overhead shower and glass shower screen, wash hand basin with vanity unit and mirror, and a WC. There is an immersion heater switch labeled on the wall outside the bathroom next to the light switches should you need gallons more hot water!
All bedding is provided. All towels are provided. The villa has floor tiling throughout. All air-con units have timers to prevent them being left on. This is to protect the units from overheating and breaking down. There are also moveable, electric fans available. Housekeeping service is provided once per week. During two week rentals all bedding and towels are changed at the end of the first week. Pool cleaning is actioned twice weekly to ensure perfect bathing conditions. There is a net by the pool pump house should you wish to put this to use (it is surprisingly therapeutic!).
There are information booklets in each room which contain more information to ensure a more comfortable stay.
AREA AROUND MANDRIA
Only 7km from the airport and boasting a beautiful, unspoilt coastline and beaches, Mandria is a peaceful, rural village with several tavernas, shops / convenience stores, a bakery and a bank most of which are centered around the village square. Many of the tavernas have free wifi. There is a petrol station and supermarket just on the outskirts of the village. The gentle pace of life is palpable. It takes 10 minutes to stroll past the fields of fragrant crops to the expansive beaches which are quiet.
Paphos is only 14km and has a wide selection of tavernas, restaurants, bars, fast food outlets, and shops to cater for almost all shopping needs and even a Debenhams store. For the more culturally inclined, there is an abundance of historical sites to visit.
Using Villa Miya as your base there are currently three excellent golf courses from which to choose and more under construction. TSADA is the longest established. Situated 15km north-east of Paphos, this par 72 course is 550m about sea level ensuring beautiful views and cool breezes. Course length is 6,060m. Drive seven minutes east from the villa and you will arrive at the par 74 course of SECRET VALLEY, set amongst natural rock formations and trees. Course length is 5,904m. Just next door is the award winning, par 71 course of APHRODITE HILLS. Built on two plateaux separated by a ravine, the course has to be seen to be believed. Course length is 6,229m. All of these courses offer wonderful playing experiences as well as first class facilities and the climate of Cyprus makes year round golf a viable and attractive alternative to playing in the rain-soaked UK!
Charming, tolerant yet deluded George Clooney look-alike.
Roger & Lindy purchased this villa in 2006
Loved Cyprus from our fist visit nearly 20 years ago. Mandria appealed due to its convenient location to both Paphos and the airport yet is still very "un-touristy".
The main reason for buying here though was that Spiros' mother (Grapevine Taverna) makes the best Sheftalia in Cyprus. Possibly even the world. True.
Being only 5 and 10 minutes by car from the airport and Paphos respectively is convenient, as is the 10 minutes stroll to either the beach or the village square.
Villa Miya is in an unspoiled rural and residential location and with her own garden with private pool offers seclusion and peace. FREE internet WiFi is still available for those you simply can't live without photos of other peoples' lunches on Facebook or videos of cats playing the piano.
Pool cleaning and housekeeping is undertaken by two of the world's nicest people, and indeed "Tony Two Sugars" (pool) is a gold mine of local information. Guests constantly praise their work and efforts.

"Another fab holiday"
This is our 5th visit to this villa and we have never been disappointed. It has a great relaxing feel about it. It is very well equipped. It is very clean and the pool is an added bonus. We hired a car this time and that was very well organised and very reasonable. A first class holiday again. Thank you

"Excellent for a quality family holiday"
Very spacious villa, very well serviced, excellent sized pool, quiet location but very close to a fabulous little village (5 mins walk) with great places to eat and drink. We hired cars really only used to go to golf and into Paphos occassionally. Without dount the best side of Paphos and superb for the airport. Definiately would recommend it and go again.

"More than we hoped, everything we wished."
When you want a break to be a treat, a recharging of the batteries and a time to remember you hope for a holiday home like Villa Miya.
No comfort has been spared in creating this villa with the customer in mind. The villa is meticulously clean and comfortable. Whatever it is that you want then it is there. Very soon you know that this has all been done for you, and so you can relax and enjoy yourself.
Most importantly the beds are top of the range, guaranteeing a good night's sleep.
The pool is a delight, the barbecue is just how you imagined it would be.
The location is superb in a lovely part of a lovely village, the shore a short walk one way and the village amenities a short walk the other way.
You may want to look for an alternative, but you would be wasting your time. I know where I am going when I return to Cyprus - Villa Miya.

The villa was beautiful and within walking distance of a lovely town and unspoilt beach. You can rent bicycles in the town and riding down to the beach with a few drinks to watch the sunset is a perfect night! There's lots of lovely restaurants with a range of food and isn't far away from Paphos. The villa itself was beautiful with everything you could possibly need and more. I definitely missing it and will be back next year!! Thank you villa Miya!!

"Perfect peaceful getaway"
Lovely villa with great facilities. Neighbours very friendly and helpful. Great connection to the rest of the island but isolated enough to be a peaceful location with barely any traffic. Would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone who was looking for a peaceful vacation in the sun.

From the booking to the holiday, the whole process was great. Good communication from the owners. The Villa is lovely with a good size private pool. The villa has everything you need and is in a really nice area.
Had a fabulous holiday. Would definately go back.
We had a great week at villa Miya, it had everything we needed with maybe one tiny exception a teapot.
Great relaxing outdoor area. We liked the quietness of mandria which made it even more relaxing.
We hired a car for the week to get out and about but enjoyed returning to the villa in the evening.
Lovely villa in the quiet village of Mandria. Mandria has a variety of restaurants if you don't want to venture too far. Only 10/15mins to Paphos so plenty of other options for meals out/other activities if that's what you want.
Villa had a welcome pack which was very handy as we arrived in the early hours of the morning so having water, milk, butter, bread, tea etc to tide us over was great. Hand soaps, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets all there which was very handy, we just replaced what we had used. Also cleaning sprays and bleach. Selection of games available and books to swap. We were also really impressed with the TV, really recent movies that have only just been in the cinema available to download for free.
The sun loungers had nice water resistant covers which made them very comfortable and there were also a couple of inflatables for the pool. All pool towels also provided which saves valuable luggage space.
We were visiting for a family wedding so I booked to have our hair done in The Cutting Room in Mandria before I had arrived which I had found on Facebook via Google. Very nice and helpful coming in on a day the shop is normally shut to accommodate us - would highly recommend! Also do gel nails.
When we arrived we found that one of the air conditioning units in one of the bedrooms wasn't working. Someone arrived and fixed it within 2 hours of calling so very responsive management of the villa!
All in all a great relaxing stay only wish we could have stayed a bit longer, we have had many villa holidays and this would definitely be somewhere we would like to return as there were so many things we could have done but didn't have time. Would definitely recommend.
Had a wonderful stay at Villa Miya. Comfy beds, clean villa and lovely pool.
Arrived at 1-00am and there was bread and milk there for us which meant we could have a cup of tea and toast , we were starving after a long day of travel.
Owners very helpful when contacted and Tony ( two sugars) handyman was on hand if needed.
Thank you for making our stay such a good one .
My boyfriend and I spent a week at Villa Miya in mid October. We were blessed with gorgeous weather every day of our break so spent most days lounging by the lovely private pool. The villa has everything you could need and is a ten minute walk to the local village of Mandria with tavernas, restaurants and a convenience store. The beach is ten mins in the opposite direction and we found a lovely little beach bar where we spent a few evenings watching the sun set. The owners of Villa Miya were extremely accommodating of our request for a late check out and were very helpful throughout the booking process. Would recommend to couples or families - the villa is very spacious! My only criticism would be that the wifi was down for the duration of our stay. It wasn't a huge issue for us and wifi is available in the village of Mandria. All in all, a wonderful holiday!
A 10 minutes stroll past the fields takes you to the beach of Mandria. It is a very quiet, unspoiled coast with a mixture of sandy areas and pebbles. The sea is very clean. The closest tourist beaches are about 10 minutes drive away.
Paphos airport is about 5 minutes drive. Mandria is the first village east of the airport. Car hire is recommended when you stay at Villa Miya but taxis are always available. Car rental companies will meet you or leave the cars for your collection at the airport, or even the villa if you wish. We use a rental firm who offer 10% discount for Villa Miya guests - contact us for further information.
Mandria village square is about a 10 minute walk, Paphos about 10-15 minute drive.
Mandria village has a good general store (and a large supermarket on the outskirts), four tavernas, a sports bar, a fish and chip restaurant, a bank and a bakery, all adjacent to the village square. Paphos has a wide selection of tavernas, restaurants, bars, fast-food outlets and shops to cater for most needs. There are also an abundance of historical sites throughout the area. More information can be found at our website (www.villa-miya.co.uk).
