Cottage near Plumelec, Morbihan, Brittany, France - Within Easy Reach Of Coast

Petit Bissac is within 30 mins of the coastal historic city of Vannes and the outstanding 'Golfe du Morbihan'. It is situated between the villages of Plumelec and Tredion. The village of Plumelec has its own butchers, bakery, pharmacy, garage, post office and grocery store. The area is popular with cyclists (having hosted Le Tour de France in 2009 & 2015 and the annual "Grand Prix de Plumelec" each May) and walkers. In nearby Tredion, there is the beautiful 'Chateau de Tredion' and park, with resident deer. The local 'Auberge de Biches' is also worth a visit, offering a tasty meal, overlooking its own lake. In the small hamlet of Callac, close to the cottage, you will find a picturesque holy 'grotto' sunk into the rock face, which locals visit to light candles and say prayers. Climbing up from the grotto is the 'Chemin de Croix', a depiction of the Stations of the Cross which look down over an old sixteenth century chapel of St Joseph, well worth a visit if only for the calm and tranquility.

About Alexandra Punter

My husband and I moved to Brittany in 2005 from the Isle of Wight and live about 40 minutes from "Petit Bissac", which was our former holiday home. Hubby is now retired and I work part time for the NHS as a Research Manager. We have a little fishing boat moored between Vannes and Lorient and simply love the more relaxed pace and quality of life here in France.

Close friends of ours moved to South Brittany a couple of years ahead of us and we fell in love with the area in and around Vannes during our trips over to visit them. When we saw "Petit Bissac" advertised for sale in a British magazine, we jumped on the next ferry to view it and offered to buy it there and then. It's countryside location away from the local village makes it ideal to unwind and relax from the stresses of daily living, which we always did when we came to stay on holiday every 6 weeks all year round.

What makes this cottage unique

Positioned centrally in the heart of Morbihan, "Petit Bissac" is an ideal base from which to visit the many delights of South Brittany. At the end of each day's exploring, you have a peaceful retreat to return home to, as the sun goes down over the garden.

We require a £50 deposit to secure any reservation and the balance (with security deposit) 4 weeks before the start of your holiday.

Our rates are based on two people sharing - a supplement per person per week will be charged for any extra visitor.

Changeover Day:
Saturday is changeover day - arrival between 4 and 7pm and departure by 12 noon. We are flexible September through to June, when part week lets can be accommodated.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
Long term lets considered - please enquire.
Christmas and New Year by arrangement.
No supplements charged for Easter, Christmas or New Year lets.
