Large 4 Bed, Traditional Farmhouse with Private Pool, Sauveboeuf, Lalinde

Les Deux Puits is an 18th Century fully restored traditional 4 bedroom French farmhouse. The large farmhouse is ideal for families wanting to enjoy the French country side. The house is ideally situated in 1.5 acres of land, with fruit trees and a large open field and of course the private swimming pool, for the hot summer days.

There are two terraces for relaxing, one at the front of the house ideal for breakfast and morning coffee. At the rear of the property, you will find the large upper terrace, which incorporates the outside dining area, table and chairs, gas BBQ, and plenty of spaces for sun loungers. The terrace has access from the outside, the adjoining barn and double patio doors from the master bedroom.

The gated private swimming pool and summer kitchen is just above the upper terrace, which gives you an elevated view of the property. This is a perfect place to sit and relax or to watch the children in the pool. The summer kitchen is fully equipped and great for the evening BBQ's as the terraces and pool area is fitted with electric lights.

The farmhouse accommodation is situated over two floors, an open plan kitchen / dining / living room with large traditional open fireplace, utility room with access to the rear terrace, wc, separate TV room with built in bar. Upstairs the farmhouse has 4 double bedrooms, 2 of which are en-suite and one large family bathroom.

Les Deux Puits is within walking distance of the small village of Sauveboeuf where you can buy your baguettes and croissants in the local mini mall, you will also find a small campsite with a tabac and restaurant.

3 km west of the farmhouse you will find the busy market town of Lalinde, the villages of Tremolat and Mauzac are within easy reach, they both have amazing scenery and some nice restaurants. If you are planning to arrive by plane, Bergerac airport is approximately a 35 min drive.

Our family bought our lovely farmhouse in 2004 to use primarily as a holiday home, with the intention of spending longer periods of time there. We have spent many years holidaying at the house and have made it a home from home.

Les Deux Puits is a large farmhouse with an attached barn. Its a 5 minute walk into the small village of Sauveboeuf, with no close neighbours, its private and rural. Ideal for family holidays where people want to enjoy the nearby countryside, but need the facilities of a local town (Lalinde 3km) within a short distance away.

Beautiful French Farmhouse

We arrived after driving through the night to find a fantastic Farmhouse with all we could ask for. There is heaps of character alongside modern amenities, satellite TV and wifi were a godsend for the little ones!

The house is spacious and when friends came out for a week, there was plenty of space for everyone to have a bit of privacy.

The outdoor terrace and pool were great, BBQ and fridge welcome additions.

The old barn had lots of advantages, even just as a bit of shade from the midday sun.

Shops and supermarkets very nearby. Karen, the owner was easily contactable and Brian the 'handyman' incredibly helpful.

A fantastic fortnights holiday, would love to come back again!

Very comfortable house in a beautiful location!

My familiy and I stayed at Les Duex Puits this Summer and had a wonderful time! The house is beautiful and fully-equipped with everything we needed! When we arrived, the house was clean and all the beds and towls were ready waiting for us. The outside areas are also great, we ate most of our meals outdoors as it was very hot during our stay. The area is great for day trips to visit chateauxs, go wine tasting or going for a bike ride. We stayed for a week but could have easily stayed much longer!

Superb location in a spacious traditional French House

Great location close to the Dordogne and the small town of Lalinde with supermarket, restaurants and cafes a 5 minute drive away. The house is very comfortable and extremely spacious, with separate bathrooms for all the bedrooms and with a super games room loved by our teenagers with bikes available to use. The house and kitchen are well equipped (plus the essential Wi fi) with the choice of eating outside the front of the house or on the terrace by the pool. An outside kitchen area complete with refrigeration a bonus. Although on a road, and with a train line across the way - Les Deux Puits is very quiet - and when the doors are shut you can hear a pin drop! We enjoyed the leisurely pace of life and just being able to sit an enjoy watching the local life go by at Cafes. A day kayaking at Limeuil was one of our highlights - in mid July we just turned up, but in the August holidays booking is recommended. A lovely old house, well maintained by the owners.

A large and very comfortable holiday home

The house is very large, extremely comfortable and nicely furnished. It is conveniently situated just outside the pretty village of Lalinde, and close to a supermarket and restaurants. We had a very relaxing stay and would recommend it.

Les Deux Puits - Absolutely magnificent.

We just spent the last two weeks of June at this superbly appointed and fitted farmhouse on the Dordogne and had one of the best holidays of our lives. Les Deux Puits is massive and comfortably sleeps upto eight. Everything has been considered from an excellent swimming pool, an outside cooking area, games, cycles etc. We were very fortunate to have scorching weather the whole time with one (spectacular) thunderstorm overnight which had dried out by morning. As a result we didn't feel the need to do too much driving and sightseeing and enjoyed the sun terrace and pool with glass of wine in hand.My wife and I drove down from the Eurotunnel with our little Bichon Frise dog and had an overnight stop each way. We were joined by son and daughter with husband who flew into Bergerac and stayed for a week. Easy to get to the airport from the house and might consider doing that ourselves in the future with a hire car. Nearest town Lalinde is very pretty. Lots of good bars and restaurants. Excellent market on Thursdays. Bergerac is also easy to get to. We enjoyed a night in the main square with the locals watching France in the World Cup. Certainly a better experience than watching England. There is an intermarche very close which catered for our needs. Went for a meal in Lalinde on my daughter and husband's first anniversary. Intending to leave the car there and pick it up next morning. No taxis available when we tried to get home..no problem..the waiter in the bar commandeered a people carrier and took us all home!!The house has some beautiful artwork up which we understand were done by a family member. The owners are very accomodating and researched a local vet for us to have the pooch's passport stamped for return. Can't recommend this highly enough and you will certainly have the best of times if you choose to stay here. Back in the work grind I keep daydreaming of the great holiday we had.Fabulous.

The nearest beach is about a 2 hour drive. Lake Beach at Lanquis and Le Bugue 20 minute drive. Aquapark at Bergerac 30 minute drive. Canoeing and water sports at Tremolat 15 minute drive. Open Air Swimming Pool at Lalinde 5 minute drive.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Bergerac, which is approx 20 mins drive away and is serviced by Ryan air and Flybe. Bordeaux airport is 1 hour 30 mins serviced by the usual air carriers. Car Hire is available at the Airport.

Distances:

The river Dordogne is 15 minute walk, the village of Sauveboeuf with the grocery store is two minutes walk. The Bastide Town of Lalinde is 5 minute drive. The market town of Le Bugue is 30 minutes drive. The historic town of St Emilion is 1 hours drive. The distance from Calais is 844kms, from Cherbourg. 712kms and from ST Malo 574kms.

Further Details:

The region is full of small villages and towns to explore, especially on market days. There is an abundance of great restaurants specialising in the local produce Foie gras, ceps etc and of course there are plenty of Château’s and wine caves. From Lalinde trains run to Sarlat, Bergerac and Bordeaux.There is the opportunity of river trips from various points along the Dordogne from 1 to 6 hours in duration. There is also canoeing, tennis and swimming near by. Lalinde has a market twice weekly and several supermarkets, the largest being 3 km from the house. There are banks and many good restaurants and bars, a lovely market square to sit and relax enjoying a glass of wine.

Les Deux Puits has been our family holiday home for 10 years, and is fully equipped to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy your holiday. We offer a complementary bottle of wine, fresh milk on arrival and have a few pantry items for you to use, if necessary, (Tea, Coffee, Pasta etc). Children are welcome, cot and highchair can be provided. Please note the use of the pool is at your own risk. Children are to be supervised at all times by parents. The house is cleaned and beds made up before arrival. Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided, pool towels are not.
