A most attractive 2 bedroom villa situated in the peaceful San Nicholas area of La Herradura on the beautiful Costa Tropical. Recently completely refurbished the villa has both downstairs and upstairs living rooms and adjoining terraces as well as a separate study. There is parking available within the grounds as well as outside the villa which is 50 minutes drive from Malaga airport and 60 minutes from Granada. La Herradura remains an unspoilt and tranquil Spanish village with a variety of restaurants and nearby sporting activities such as golf, sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving, horse riding, walking, fishing, tennis as well as skiing in the Sierra Nevadas some 1.5 hours drive. easy walk to pueblo and beach.

                                                            • Notes on accommodation: The villa is beautifully tiled throughout, however, care should be taken at all times to avoid slipping around the pool and lower terrace area. We strongly advise all guests to take out comprehensive holiday insurance to cover any accidents, flights, illness etc. We have electric heaters in all the rooms, for use in the cold weather, two chimineas/wood burning stoves (wood provided) and a new calor gas fire. Outside: Large private pool (8 x 5 metres) and garden with tables, chairs and sunbeds, new gas barbecue, traditional briquette one and a small electric bbq. Upstairs terrace with easy chairs, great for a G and T in the evenings! Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and towels supplied, please bring own pool/beach towels. Property cleaned at beginning/end of 2 week let (weekly clean available at additional cost). Other: Upstairs lounge with double sofa bed, chair and coffee table. (this sofa could be used for a fifth guest subject to owners prior approval). Upstairs small study with sofa, desk and chair and flat screen TV, specifically tuned with European channels

                                                              the weather did not play ball this time. been to Costa Tropical in March every year since 1993 and never has it been this bad.

                                                              We had a lovely stay In th beginning of january. The weather was cold but we had plenty of wood for the fireplace and gas oven so we did not freeze.

                                                              As Norwegian people we love to sit outside and it was tre fleece blankets to keep us warm.

                                                              It was my third stay and I will love to come back.

                                                              St. Nicolas is very charming and no trafic In the night.

                                                              Booked the Villa for a 2 week stay for our family of 4. The Villa is hard to fault, extremely well equipped and in a delightful position. My daughters loved the large pool and I was impressed with the Weber gas BBQ. The walk to the beach took just over 10 minutes, with the walk back ending with a short steep uphill section. The beach front market and bakery are highly recommended as is a trip to Granada and the Alhambra.

                                                              This was a truly fabulous villa, there were 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 lads (22 and 18) and it was plenty big enough for us all. The villa is situated between Malaga and Granada, about 1 hr from Malaga airport, and has the most stunning views of both the sea and countryside. It is well positioned for trips to Granada, Marbella and a longer trip to Ronda (which is stunning).

                                                              The villa itself is very clean and wel maintained, the owner of the property is always available on email to ask questions before you go, and then there is the Property Manager, Andy, whom you can contact while you are there, should you need to.

                                                              The Garden is beautifully looked after by a local old chap, and there is both a downstairs and an upstairs terrace with plenty of sunloungers and cushions. The pool is lovely and we spent many a happy hour in there.

                                                              I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a peaceful and attractive area to stay, but which is near to lots of activities and attractions.

                                                              just a perfect hideaway, cannot fault the villa, sorry we moved down the coast on our second week.

                                                              my wife and I love the Costa Tropical. No kiss me quick hats in sight, just refined and laid back. This villa could only be improved by a heated pool, we only like to visit in March and October when its not too hot. If you visit you will love the views and the garden. Give it a try. Cannot recomend any places to eat, having been visiting Spain since 1969 i can count on one hand the times we have really enjoyed the food.

                                                              We had a great short break here in May. The villa is in a very peaceful spot in the hills above La Herradura. The views of the surrounding countryside are fantastic. The villa itself is very comfortable and well equipped - there's nice big terrace off the upstairs living room which is ideal for evening drinks. Easy access to La Herradura and other towns and beaches along the coast and very easy from the airport.

                                                              Special interest holidays: The attractive horseshoe bay of La Herradura is famous for being perhaps the best diving resort in Spain with several well run diving schools located on the seafront. Wonderful walking and nature excursions in the Sierra Nevadas. Coast/Beach: Approx 25 beaches along La Herradura, Almunecar shoreline including Playa de la Herradura stretching 2km around the magnificent horseshoe bay. This beach is mainly fine sand and shingle and boasts numerous restaurants, beach bars and shops and plenty of water sports including sailing, windsurfing and scuba diving. Located 15 mins walk (5 mins by car) from villa. Travel: Malaga and Granada airports are situated about 1 hour's drive away and both are easily accessible with good motorways linking them with La Herradura. Distances: The nearest towns are Almunecar (10 mins) and Nerja (20 mins) drive away. Both have a wide selection of shops to supplement the local ones available in La Herradura. Further Details: There are 3 banks (a little English spoken) as well as small supermarkets, newsagents, a really good daily meat, fish and vegetable market, as well as numerous restaurants catering for all tastes. There is a very good internet cafe in La Herradura with good opening hours (going out of the village on the one way system, however we have wi fi available at a small cost of E15 per week)

                                                              Additional information about rental rates

                                                              Booking Notes: A 30% deposit is payable on booking with the balance due 6 weeks before arrival date. If cancellation occurs less than 4 weeks before scheduled arrival date then 50% of total rental fee will be forfeit. Cancellation less than 2 weeks before will result in full forfeiture unless the villa is relet for the period. A security deposit of £100 is required. This will be added to the final payment of 70% and will be refunded at the end of the holiday, provided no breakages or damages have occurred. Changeover Day: Flexible but ideally Friday (depending on previous booking). Villa to be vacated by 10am on morning of departure to allow for cleaning. Guests arrive 4pm. Notes on prices: Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.
