About the property

One double, one twin, bathroom, sitting room, kitchen, WiFi, beamed ceiling

We let the cottage from Friday-Friady, also offering short-breaks from Monday-Friday and Friday-Monday. The double bedroom and kitchen face south-east and have superb views of the castle. The twin bedroom faces north west towards the golf course and the Cheviots. Parking for 2 cars at the rear. The cottage is luxuriously furnished and equipped to a very high standard including full central heating and double glazing. The sitting room with beamed ceiling has a Sony Smart TV, DVD, telephone and wireless Internet access. There is an open fire for which fuel is supplied free of charge. The kitchen has a large pine table, fully fitted range of units and appliances including split level oven/hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, washer/drier, wine cooler and a comprehensive range of utensils. There is a small separate deep freeze in the cloakroom cupboard. Upstairs, the double bedroom with king-size bed and the twin bedroom can accommodate 4 guests. All beds have feather duvets, 2 pillows and electric under blankets. Bathroom with bath and shower over, washbasin, WC and airing cupboard.

About James Brett

Our family base is just 100 yards from the cottage and we can easily be contacted if needed. We have been letting the cottage for many years now and are happy to help with any special requests

James Brett purchased this cottage in 1986

Why James Brett chose Northumberland Coast

Central village location (2 minutes walk).

Very close to the beach (2 minute walk).

Spectacular views of Bamburgh Castle from the kitchen and the double bedroom.

What makes this cottage unique

Boundary Cottage is in a perfect location within easy walking distance of the beach and the village centre. It's a far cry from the typical holiday let and is equipped and furnished as if it were our main home. It is used largely by family and friends and has many home comforts and facilities such as full central heating, an open fire and a telephone landline (mobile signal provided by most network carriers is sporadic). Views of the Castle are stunning.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Perfection

Beautiful property..home from home and the James the owner and his family have thought of everything.

From doggy treats and tennis ball for our dog Neo to milk for tea and scones on arrival.Shampoo and conditioner above sink in bathroom and in shower also - just how it should be....the list could go on and on....fantastic..

The view from the main bedroom Bamburgh Castle when we 1st saw it took our breath away - thankfully James had also sorted the weather ..uncannily for February warm & dry.

Text on our 2nd day from James to ask if everything was OK indicative of the great customer service throughout our contact with him.

Beach literally 5 mins away and same for Pubs and restaurants.

Would not hesitate to recommend this property to family, friends and basically anyone who will listen

Perfect

We will return ...

Neo our Dalmatian sat on the step as we were due to leave for home and refused to move - we had to physically carry him to the car.

January stay in Bamburgh

  • 5 of 5

Delightful cottage in a perfect location. Immaculately clean, well maintained, high quality fixtures and fittings. Attention to detail and some lovely extra touches such as fresh scones & butter on arrival and the essential pint of milk! Owners helpful and welcoming. We would thoroughly recommend the cottage and hope to return there ourselves in the not too distant future.

We visit Bamburgh every year and without doubt this is the best location for both the beach and village. We had great week in this cosy cottage. Made to feel very welcome with flowers and refreshments .......even our dog got some little treats.

Boundary Cottage is fantastic

  • 5 of 5

Exceptionally high standard of accomodation. Kitchen appliances, furniture, towels and bedding all high specification. Everything we could possibly have needed was provided. Spent hours at the kitchen table looking at the castle and people watching. Fabulous walks along beach and countryside.Pretty village with enough shops and places to eat.ideal for a restful holiday or as a base for exploring Northumberland and the borders.

Beautiful Bamburgh Base!

  • 5 of 5

This is an ideal place to enjoy Bamburgh. It has a great view of the castle and is only a short walk past a charming playground and green to the sand dunes and glorious beaches. The house cannot be faulted. When you care it shows and it's obvious here. There is everything you need and more. The Bamburgh locals are so kind and helpful and we have already booked to return next year. I cannot wait.

Car: recommended

Boundary Cottage occupies one of the most sought after locations in the village just below the castle near the centre of Bamburgh on the road which leads to the beach and the golf course. The cricket ground, which lies between the cottage and the castle, provides direct access to the magnificent sandy beach which is only 300 metres away. The double bedroom and the kitchen face south-east and have superb views of the castle. The cottage is ideally situated for families as there are no roads to cross to get to the beach. There is a block paved area to the back of the property (the original farmyard) from which a pedestrian gate gives access to a large grassed area known as ‘The Green’ which is also the cricket ground. It can be used for general recreation and is our extended garden! On the edge of ‘The Green’ nearest to the cottage are a children’s play area and an all weather tennis court. The tennis court can be hired through ‘The Victoria Hotel’ in the village for a small charge.

Other Activities: Bird watching, Alnwick Castle and Garden, Hadrian's Wall, Grace Darling Museum.

Golf: The stunning location has often seen Bamburgh Castle Golf Club quoted as one of the most scenic in Britain. Offering views of Lindisfarne, the Farne Islands, the Cheviots and of course Bamburgh Castle, the course is one of the truest links experiences to be had in England. The course is lined by gorse, heather, whinstone and rare fauna and has a unique series of opening holes with back to back par 3s followed by two excellent par 5s. While not the longest course, amounting to just over 5,600 yards, it is a demanding par 68 although there are birdie opportunities especially on the way home with three par 4s under 300 yards for you to savour.

With a friendly clubhouse serving good food, Bamburgh Castle is a perfect getaway for societies and casual visitors, testing golfers of every level.

Other fine courses in the area include Berwick upon Tweed (Goswick) and the West Links at North Berwick to the north and Alnmouth (Foxton) to the south.
