Great place for a London stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in November for six nights and the house was perfect for what we needed (2 adults and 2 young kids suffering from severe jet lag!). It's a clean, comfortable, proper 3 bed house (don't be fooled by the listing that say they are 3 bedrooms when 2 of those "bedrooms" are actually the living room and the dining room) with an eat in kitchen and great sized living room/dining room that has enough space for bigger groups. It's a 10 min walk (well, 15 min with a 4 year old) to Queens Park tube station, which gets you into central London quickly. We're ex Londoners but have never spent much in Queens Park so it was really nice to explore the area a bit - lovely little shops on the high street and a great playground for the kids at Queens Park itself. For tourists, it might not have quite the central location for walking to the main attractions, but neither does it have the price tag - plus, you'll get a bit more of a feel for the real London.

Jane was prompt with communication and was also helpful in supplying us with a small bag of toys.

The only thing that would've made it better for us would've been a bath for the kids - but we knew it didn't have one when we booked so that can't be used as a criticism. We'll definitely stay again.

Loved the location and most of the property with a couple of small hiccups

  • 5 of 5

We were a large group staying at this property with 7 adults and 4 kids. We stayed for 2 weeks in July.

The location was perfect for us. Close to tube stations and the Kilburn High street with an Aldi Supermarket within 5-10 mins walk.

The house itself was very good and catered to almost all our needs. We booked this house knowing that there was only one bathroom with a shower (and a separate downstairs toilet) for our large group as it was such great value compared to other properties that might fit our group. The only small problem came with the downstairs toilet where the seat was damaged. Once we notified the manager though this was rectified quickly.

The kitchen was very well appointed and this made having meals at the home a pleasure. Only other small feedback would be that the TV was a bit ancient and could do with an upgrade. Not a major problem but probably worth investing in an update.

Overall I would thoroughly recommend this property to people seeking a place to stay in London that is not too expensive and still close enough to make all your city site seeing accessible ( I even walked to Piccadilly Circus one day from the property ) Make sure you have cleared with your group that there is only 1 shower. I had done this before booking but if you missed this with a larger group I suspect you may have some explaining to do with your group.

Thanks to the property management for taking great care of us on our stay!!

Fantastic place in a fantastic neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 10 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Queens Park neighborhood. The neighborhood is charming, and the close proximity to the Tube makes getting around incredibly easy. Plus, the communication we received in advance of our stay could not have been more thorough and was very helpful. Thank you for a great stay.

A great property for families!

  • 4 of 5

In my conversations with the owner prior to our arrival she was very organised and helpful.

The house was well stocked, clean and easy to access. Instructions were helpful and clear.

The house is between two shopping areas. Salusbury Rd had a great bakery (Gail's), tube and nicer shops. Kilburn High Rd has plenty of options to self cater, pub meals or fast food.

We stayed in January. The heater was on an automatic setting which meant that we did not have to touch anything or program anything. This was useful - foolproof. However one day my Dad was sick and stayed home during the day. He found the house cold as the heater turns off during the day.

Facilities all worked well - washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. We couldn't find a clothes drying rack though. Otherwise this was a very well stocked property.

The three bedrooms had flexible options with additional folding beds available.

Great property for families. The steps are quite steep as is common in English houses.

Well located, very quiet street. We would stay again.

Thank you.

Owner's Response: Hi Claire Thank you so much for your very kind and detailed review. I'm so sorry your father found the house cold during the day. If you had rung or texted me or my housekeeper we would have told you how to turn the heating back on. I do hope you had a safe journey home back to sunny Australia. Best wishes Jane

excellent house for families and small groups

  • 5 of 5

We are an American/British family of three adults and two young children. This house was perfect for us and the safe patio at the back great for the children, as was the amazing Adventure playground 10 mins away at Queen's Park. The owner was quick to respond to any questions and immediately replaced a coffee maker which did not work. She has thoughtfully left adaptors for foreign electrical plugs, a variety of herbs and spices in the kitchen and comprehensive notes about the neighborhood. This was our first HomeAway rental and we were very pleased. This is a comfortable basic property in a safe street and near to shops and supermarkets and I would recommend it highly to families.
