Guestbook comments from the owner

'Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in Gaucin. We enjoyed every minute of it. The house was perfect, the sun was shining and the white village treated us so well. We will return.' Vår Staude, Norway 2014

'We have just returned from an idyllic week in Gaucin. We had to let you know how much we loved Casa Mihrab. From the moment that we arrived and received a warm welcome from Esther and Brett we settled into the lovely, relaxed way of life that the house and village afford anyone staying there. The views from the top floor were to die for and we have returned both recharged and refreshed having walked for miles in the surrounding hills, just perfect.' Len+Teresa, UK 2013

The house is delightful, fully matching the promise of the website. It is characterful and spacious within and, of course, the views from the terraces are wondeful. Alan + Elaine UK 2012

Wonderful property with breathtakingly views in superb village

  • 5 of 5

Lovely spacious village house extremely clean and comfortable with true Andalucian character. Great restaurants and bars serving excellent food within a few minutes stroll. Very beautiful and friendly village. Would highly recommend for those seeking the real Spain away from the Cost as.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review. We are so pleased you enjoyed the house and all the village has to offer. It was the beauty of the Village and its stunning location that first drew to the area, but the friendliness of the villagers and range of facilities available within walking distance of the house made buying in Gaucin an easy choice. We hope to welcome you again if you return to the area. Kind regards Jennie and Mark

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking time to leave a review. We are so pleased you appreciated the charm of the property and enjoyed your stay like your relatives in previous years. The unusual layout does give the house a unique feel, but it is thankfully not Hobbit sized!! Kindest regards Jennie and Mark

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to give us such a great review. The house is very much a home for us, not just a property for rent and we are so pleased you felt welcomed and at home. The location of the property is one of the things we also love as it is great to have shops and a good range of eating and drinking options within such easy walking distance - this, coupled with the gentler way of life in Gaucin always makes for a great break. We hope to see you again soon. Kind regards Jennie and Mark

Charming village house

Really enjoyed our stay at Casa Mihrab. It is beautifully furnished and well equipped. Lovely views from the top floor terrace. A perfect base in Gaucin.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to review. The views and location were the main things that led us to buy the house and they still never disappoint. The village is still very welcoming and authentic even as the great range of restaurants and tapas bars gets better all the time.

This is one of the nicest properties we have ever stayed in, fantastic.

  • 5 of 5

Jenny and Mark's house is lovely. It exceeded all expectations. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, and has many personal touches which make it feel like a loved home rather than a rented house. The decor was very tasteful and the Moroccan touches lovely. The views from the 2 terraces are spectacular and the top floor, the living room, is wonderfully light; we ate all our meals here. The kitchen is really well equipped and is another lovely, spacious room. The large shower on the ground floor is just great! One thing to note: This house might not be suitable for very young children as it is spread over 4 floors and the stairs between floors have no handrails - you soon get used to the open stairs though.

The house is well located in Gaucin, a large village with numerous bars offering a good choice of outdoor eating. There are some lovely walks from the village and the surrounding area is mountainous and spectacular. We would love to return in late spring when the flowers will be at their best; this is a good area to be based if you are a keen bird watcher.

Jenny was very easy to communicate with and answered all our questions promptly. Brett met us when we arrived and was really helpful, as well as a font of local knowledge.

We couldn't recommend this property more highly. It was a privilege to stay here and we look forward to returning. Pam Bury

Beautiful property in a delightful village

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful property and exactly as described. Jennie was very helpful in sending directions on driving to Gaucin and parking once we arrived. Her agent, Brett, met us immediately, gave us an orientation to the small village and even gave us his cell phone number. With a gourmet take-out place, Bonissim, just a few steps away from our front door, we were able to dine each evening on the top floor balcony watching the moon rise over the village with Gibraltar in the distance. Five stars for sure! David and Carol Farmer

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We also love the fact that there are a good range of eating options within a few minutes walk of the house, and as you found, a deli like Bonnism 150m away is great if you want to eat nice food at home, but not cook. A good variety of Spanish and more general European cuisine is available in restaurants and bars in the village, so you really don't have to cook if you want a break from that. Brett and Esther are indeed so reliable and helpful, always doing their utmost to help our guests have a good break and we are so grateful for their assistance. Best wishes and we hope to see you again, Jennie and Mark
