About The Owner

We are a professional family with 2 children and, at the moment, we live and work in England.

The Owner purchased this house in 2005

Why The Owner chose Beziers area

When we bought our house in 2005 we were living in France and intending to bring up our 2 young children there. We spent a lot of time looking for our family home and eventually settled on moving to the Languedoc which we love. It's one of the most beautiful regions of France, filled with castles and vineyards, close to the Mediterranean with excellent transport links, vibrant villages and towns as well as being unspoiled by mass tourism.

We chose our house as it was a spacious and traditional home at the edge of a village with large private garden, vineyard and a pool. Space for the children to grow up in and the benefit of privacy but the convenience of being able to walk down to the village square for our morning coffee and croissant!

We are working in the UK at present but hope to move there one day!

What makes this house unique

Unusually for France the village of Pouzolles has no arterial roads running through it. It's therefore extremely tranquil and picturesque with a strong sense of community. The summer brings many small festivals and village events, such as the Brazucade which takes place every Friday evening in July and August - a ticketed event where the village all dine together in the open square followed by dancing!

Maison de Maitre

  • 4 of 5

We had an excellent month here. The house was clean, had all it should have had in the shape of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils and was large and spacious. Everything worked! We were there for a month and really enjoyed it. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and the sea is only 30 minutes away.

Great Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

My family enjoyed a fabulous sunny week in this authentic and majestic old French house. The ceilings are tall, the rooms are huge and there are masses of original features like shutters, fireplaces and tiled floors that make this house feel really special.

The pool is a real bonus - fenced and safe for children and well-placed for the sun. It offers views over the vineyard which belongs to the house.

There is a huge tree to the rear of the house where we ate each night under the stars.

It's well-placed for trips out to other towns and the seaside but we rarely strayed far as we so much enjoyed the facilities on hand. Great vineyards and farmers markets nearby.

I would strongly recommend it .

Languedoc perfection

  • 4 of 5

Taking a holiday in the Languedoc is about being transferred to a dreamy setting of hill villages, vineyards, big blue skies and dramatic scenery. Staying in this historic house with its lofty spacious rooms provides the right atmospheric setting to relax and experience it all.

The vast private garden and pool provides an ideal setting for friends and family to enjoy the hot days and long warm evenings.

Pezenas, probably the most beautiful town in the region, is nearby.

We have stayed here several times and strongly recommend you do likewise.

Lovely tranquil stay

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying this elegant maison de maitre, perfect for the kids who loved the spacious garden, table tennis, safely fenced pool, and badminton. Days were spent wine tasting, pottering about the countryside, exploring local brocante shops and market towns, but best of all was to return to the house and simply kick back in its cool interiors when the sun was just too strong before whipping up a tasty meal from local fare in the well-equipped kitchen.
