Located in the lovely Parish of St James, on the famous platinum West Coast of Barbados. The development known as Crystal Court is a gated community (electronic security gates) and consists of eleven buildings each housing four units, there is a shared swimming pool, tennis-court and club-house. Apartments are built in spacious surroundings that have been beautifully landscaped and planted with local shrubs and palm trees. Crystal Court is located in a quiet residential area around 1 mile inland in an elevated position allowing lovely inland and stunning sunset views from the front balcony of the apartment. Beautiful beaches and many restaurants, shops and banks are within a 5 minute drive. Apartment 303 is a modern luxury two-bed condominium type property completed in May 2005. The apartment has been tastefully furnished with locally produced furniture and comprises in brief: 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, open plan kitchen, living and dining room and front and rear balconies. Free Wifi available!

About Joanne

My name is Joanne and I am married with 3 little boys age 10, 7 and 6. I started going to Barbados fresh out of university and totally fell in love with it, so much so that when an opportunity came up to buy our own little piece of paradise, we grabbed it with both hands. My family and I try to get to Barbados as much as possible and my boys are now totally head over heals in love with it too!

Barbados is a very special place with something for everyone and has the unique ability to keep drawing you back time and time again. We are very lucky to have our lovely apartment and enjoy sharing it with others so that they too can experience all that beautiful Barbados has to offer!

Why Joanne chose St. James

The apartment is in a peaceful, residential area where all you can hear are the tree frogs once the sun goes down! Its proximity to the coast was not so important to us as we are not a family that stays put on a beach in front of a hotel for 2 weeks - we like to go out and about and discover new little stretches of beach, experience the east coast ruggedness and find little places to eat a little off the beaten track. As such, we have always hired a car while in Barbados. The apartment is perfectly situated for us as it is only a few minutes drive to the coast and is central enough to be able to get to any part of the island easily!

What makes this apartment unique

We love this apartment as it is perfect for a family like ours, or anyone looking for affordable self catering accommodation close to everything. We love that our apartment is set well away from the road (which can be fairly busy) and has the benefit of overlooking the pool and tennis court. On a good day you can even see the sea! As the sun moves round during the day, the situation of our apartment on the complex means that the living areas are kept cool even while the sun is blazing onto the balcony!

With families in mind, our apartment is well equipped with a highchair, travel cot, steriliser, baby bath and a 200+ dvd library for everyone to enjoy! Equally so, many of my regular visitors are retired couples wanting the freedom of a self catering apartment away from the busy coast.

Notes on accommodation: Both bedrooms fully air-conditioned. Remote control ceiling fans in living area. Ideal for families - good quality cot-bed, high-chair, baby bath and avent microwave steriliser all provided. 5th person - there is also a good quality fold-up bed (usually stored away) available for if required. No smoking. Small electronic safe for storage of valuables also provided. Free WiFi. Phone for local calls. Outside: The swimming pool is a good size and has a special separate shallow area, perfect for smaller children and babies. The tennis court is flood-lit so can even be used when the sun has gone down! As an upper floor apartment we have the advantage of having lovely views and the balcony is perfect for watching those barbados sunsets. Set well away from the road, it is peaceful so that all you can hear are the tree frogs singing their merry song... Utility Room: Large high quality washing machine, utilatub sink, iron and ironing board. Large selection of beach toys, snorkelling equipment, books, games (all for guest use). Door out onto the rear balcony with patio table, chairs and a charcoal BBQ. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen provided (excluding beach towels). Cleaning and towel/linen change once a week or more frequently on request.

Fantastic and highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic. This is the third time we have rented this apartment. It's central location (car essential), home comforts, safe community and exceptional customer service from Joanne keeps us coming back.

The apartment is well proportioned and comfortable. Each time we go there is a new and thoughtful addition. A well stocked library of DVDs and books, kitchen equipment, plentiful towels and a large cooker and fridge.

The pool is regularly cleaned and the gardens are well looked after. A quiet development were we are regularly the only people in the pool.

Highly recommended.

Really Great Apartment

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks holiday in Barbados. We had been looking last minute for a place to go for our wedding anniversary. We found cheap flights and then we're excited to find this little gem of an apartment. It ticked all our boxes......we like to go self catering and hire a car wherever we go, it gives you so much more freedom to explore. This apartment is situated on a small development in an extremely quite area, about five minutes drive from main west coast road. There is a pool with sun beds, chairs & parasols (shared use) however we used the pool at many different times of the day and only came across four other people using it. I think there are only a few apartments that are holiday rental, which means the other apartment owners are probably at work during the day, The apartment has a a lovely balcony, the photograph on the website shows two small palm trees, these have grown a lot a make it a lot more private. The facilities are good, nice big fridge in kitchen (to chill banks beers !) Everthing in the apartment was clean and exactly as described in details. A car is a must as there isn't much in walking distance i.e. Shops & Restuarants. Joanne the owner was very helpful, her own website has lots of useful information. If you want to holiday in Barbados and do a bit of exploring this apartment makes a great base. Although there was just the two of us it's definitely big enough for four adults without feeling cramped. Would totally recommend this apartment.

It was just what I needed and a bit more;)

The ad for this accommodation is accurate and pricing very reasonable. Beautifully placed in a quiet and secure neighbourhood with the communal amenities. Transport is recommended for anyone staying here. The details sent by the owner to get around and help to settle in the apartment were excellent and both owner and site manager were very cordial, helpful and easy to communicate with. I particularly liked the use of a local mobile phone to make calls as roaming plans weren't covered from where I was travelling from. Also the family type home setting made my few guests feel right at home. As an overseas national I would definitely stay here again. Getting to know about the owner and she about me gave the feeling that only responsible guests were allowed which assured my desire to stay there. It just reminds me of how beautiful Barbados is.

Beautiful powdery white sandy beaches 5-10 minutes drive. All beaches in Barbados are public so there are 100's of beaches to choose from - from the bath-still waters of the Caribbean sea on the west coast, to the stunning rugged coastline on the east.

Travel:

Approximately 25 minutes drive from Grantley Adams Airport (traffic dependant!). Car hire essential. Barbados drives on the left so perfect for Brits! There are so many beautiful beaches to go to and wonderful places to visit that a car hire is a must!

Further Details:
