Apartment located in Villamartin, Costa Blanca - Central Location With Excellent Golf Courses & Central For Exploring Southern Costa Blanca

Adjacent to our apartment a new holiday complex is under construction, this is causing disruption and creating the nuisance one would associate with building work. Therefore we believe it correct to reduce our tariff rates for the holiday season 2018. (Please refer to the rates section). If further clarification is required please contact us direct. Tastefully furnished, the apartment is located only a few minutes stroll from the international restaurants and bars housed in the renowned plaza. Three quality golf courses are in the very close vicinity, Villamartin (walking distance) Campoamor & Las Ramblas within three kilometres from your holiday home, with La Finca slightly farther. Torrevieja offers restaurants, bars, nightlife and waterfront attractions for an entertaining evening on the town. Many beautiful sandy beaches are also only a few minutes drive away. The apartment was designed with three bedrooms, however, at the expense of the third bedroom the lounge and dining area is extended to provide a spacious room for dining, relaxing or entertaining.

Notes on accommodation: Air conditioning to the lounge area and master bedroom is provided, in addition a safe is also A portable bottled gas fire is available, the cost of bottle refills being the responsibility of guests. (hopefully surplus to requirements). Outside: Exiting the lounge through the patio doors one finds the first floor terrace, ideal for catching the early sun or affording welcome shade later in the day. Alighting the external staircase from the terrace you discover the extremely large private roof solarium, perfect for that 'all over' tan. For your comfort and enjoyment there are two wooden steamer chairs, parasol and small table with four chairs. Utilities are available (power & water). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Clean linen, towels and the apartment cleaning in anticipation of your arrival are included in the published tariff. An intermediate laundry service and cleaning service can be provided, this will be the subject of a nominal charge, paid locally. Other: Solarium, private and very large, one section is shaded by a custom built pergola. With water and power, also a small cheap & cheerful BBQ facility available to guests. Blessed with sun throughout the day, if switched on!

Our stay in Casa Haigh

We had a great holiday Thank you John and Vera. The communication with John was excellent, couldn't have asked for more. The information pack was very helpful from getting us from the airport to finding great places to eat. On arrival the apartment was lovely and clean. It was spacious and well maintained. It was a real home from home. We were happy to spend a few days at the apartment with no need to go out and the roof terrace was a real bonus. We spent many days sun bathing on the roof terrace. I have already recommended this apartment to my sister in law who was looking to book a holiday abroad next summer. Thanks again for a great holiday

You did mention the size, it was designed to be three bedrooms, we instructed the builder to omit the smaller third bedroom, that extended the lounge, we were pleased with the result. You also referred to communications, when we go on holiday it is rather off putting when entering the apartment for the first time to find a folder on the sideboard full of holiday information. We would rather be sitting around the pool taking in some rays. (why not send it electronically to guests before the holiday?) We are most appreciative of the time you spent writing your review and the most favourable comments. Vera & John H

Comfortable apartment with lovely private roof terrace.

We stayed for a week for the first time in this area apartment was perfectly situated for the plaza around a 10 minute walk down hill however a bit longer on the way up!

The apartment was very comfortable two lovely bathrooms and English tv!

John the owner was always contactable and answered all of my many pre-holiday questions by e-mail.

Final stay clean and electricity all included in price unlike a previous rental when we were surprised to have had to pay cleaner extra €70 the day we got there and were charged an excess for electricity!!

All in the terms and conditions they said but it was written in Dutch!!

Anyway no surprises with this apartment and we would recommend you stay here, although swimming pool was rather small and very crowded.

John sent us loads of info before we went which was very helpful.

The Plaza is the highlight of the area, however, we have found another which is a little more of a walk (we go in the car), La Fuenta complex, many bars and excellent restaurants. Yes, we have endured apartments as you suggest (a lot of hidden extras), we like to be forthright with our description and all our communications are in English (the only Dutch I know is double) Best regards Vera & John H

lovely accommodation, honest owners.

Very spacious with the double bedroom having private shower and WC.Very large roof terrace, with sun loungers, large table and BBQ. Easy ample parking outside property, which was never busy. Not far to walk to local restaurants and entertainment, but far enough to be away from any noise. Couple of friendly local pubs even closer. Great place to unwind with internet/ air con, and comfortable furnishings. Owner is British and very honest which is important to know when booking relatively blindly, from owners direct. 10 mins by car to local beaches and main road, and 8 mins to local hypermarkets. Glad we picked this place to stay..even from a non golfer perspective..as its very near a good looking golf course.

Casa Haigh - Home from Home

I don’t normally do reviews…….but when I do write a review they are invariably good reviews – if I’ve been somewhere awful I certainly can’t be bothered to let the world know I’ve been ripped off! Sadly, I’ve rented a few places across the globe that have been disasters and, for a while said “never again” in terms of holiday rentals; but Casa Haigh and John & Vera have restored my faith in this market for a wonderful, relaxing holiday – home from home – and more importantly the information on the website is very accurate – it does what it says on the tin - something that doesn’t always happen.

As other reviewers have said, this is a very roomy apartment, more like a home, that was ideal for my wife and I to have a relaxing break doing very little other than recharging the chill-out batteries. The property is well maintained and very spacious – certainly the lounge/diner benefits from the additional space at the expense of a third bedroom. The bedrooms are clean, comfortable, big enough and it certainly helps having two bathrooms – one off the double bedroom and the other off the lounge/diner.

While a car is certainly beneficial it’s not essential. The property is a short stroll from the Plaza and maybe a longer stagger back – although taxis are readily available. There is a good, regular bus service and, for the perhaps younger, fitter clientele there’s cycle rental nearby.

I’m not one for pools but the community pool is one of the best I seen in such developments in the way it’s presented and managed and that’s a credit to all involved. It’s also very close at hand so there’s no long walks to and from.

Right from the outset the dealings I had with John were reassuring, the pre-rental information was thorough and relevant – especially for people new to the area in terms of finding the place and useful suggestions on things to do, places to go and eat.

As I’ve said earlier this is like a home-from-home and you are encouraged to treat it that way. There were also steamer chairs, sunbeds, table & chairs, umbrellas & beach towels all provided for our use at the pool or on the solarium.

We’ve had a wonderful, relaxing holiday & can’t recommend it highly enough. Paraphrasing something Arnie said “we’ll be back!”

Super hyggelig og i rolige omgivelser

Vi havde 16 dejlige dage i Vera og Johns lejlighed. Den er beliggende i rolige omgivelser, med mange muligheder for gode ture og restaurantbesøg. Vi nød rigtig meget den solrige terrasse på taget, som virkelig er et stort +. Det er nødvendigt med bil, men med denne kommer man i løbet af 5 minutter til stort shoppingcenter og 8 minutter til en dejlig sandstrand.

John gav gode informationer undevejs, og vi blev mødt af "viceværten" der gav os en kort men god instruktion til faciliteterne.

Vi kan varmt anbefale stedet, og vil hel sikkert komme tilbage igen.

Coast/Beach:

Southern Costa Blanca boasts many sandy beaches which are awarded the prestigious EEC Blue Flag seal of approval for cleanliness & safety.

Several beaches are within a short drive from your holiday apartment, La Zenia the closest with Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca, Punta Prima and Campoamor only minutes farther. Beach activities, bars, restaurants, sunbathing facilities and children's play areas abound in season or choose a small secluded beach or cove for a serene atmosphere & an all over tan.

Travel:

Guests have the choice of two airports, the more popular, Alicante international airport is located approximately 80 kilometres north (45 minutes drive) of Villamartin. However, the smaller airport of Murcia is a mere 15 minutes drive south, but the choice of flights is restrictive. Both airports have good motorway connections and car hire which is recommended is possible from either.

Distances:

Torrevieja is the closest large town (10km), the city of Alicante (90km) and the resort of Benidorm (120km), distances are approximate.

Further Details:

Security grilles and an intruder detection and alarm system are installed.

The property is covered by insurance, however, this does not include third parties. We strongly urge guests to provide their own personal holiday insurance to adequately cover costs in the event of unforeseen misfortunes. (Medical, luggage loss, theft, etc.)

The apartment has access to WiFI, which is normally robust, however we must remember this is Spain, therefore, like most properties quality of reception can fluctuate due to useage and atmospheric conditions.

Booking Notes:
A non-refundable deposit of £50 per week secures your holiday on booking, payment by cheque or direct transfer is acceptable.
In addition to the rental charge a £100 refundable security bond is expected as a deposit against key return and major breakage or damage.
The rental balance & bond are required six weeks in advance of arrival, the security bond will be returned within two weeks after the receipt of key and confirmation of the apartment's satisfactory condition.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is flexible, however, the apartment will be available at 13:00 on the day of arrival, on departure guests are required to vacate by 10:00.
These times may be adjusted dependant on the arrival/depature of previous/next guests.
