This is a villa for those looking for the very best in luxury and facilities but at a surprisingly affordable price. Picture yourself arriving at Murcia Airport, collect your car or taxi and within 15 mins you could be on the sunny terrace sipping Cava and watching the kids splash around in your private pool. Here you'll be away from the noisy Spanish resorts, this really is an exceptional location with outstanding facilities.

As you enter the villa you'll enter the spacious lounge, you'll find contemporary furniture and unique artworks, Satellite TV, free WiFi, DVD and iPod dock etc. The fully equipped kitchen is ready for you to create breakfast, lunch, dinner or to avoid altogether! The villa is designed for outside living, the large terrace is ideal for dinner on warm summer evenings. You’ll find a hot-tub and your own pool. Air-conditioning is of course installed and if you visit during the winter you’ll benefit from the central heating. Upstairs is a sun terrace. The bedrooms are spacious, have very comfortable beds and built in wardrobes.

We purchased the villa off plan. We spent a long time visiting other areas of the southern costas to find a balance between sunshine, facilities, great beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. Mar Menor Gold stood out as the right choice back then. Over the years Mar Menor Golf rode out the financial crisis that hit Spain in the 2007 timeframe. The area and development is the only Polaris World 'resort' to have an active, vibrant feel.

It's still a great place to chill out, play golf, enjoy the beaches and region at an affordable price.

Thanks you for a lovely week in your villa. The pool was fantastic. Chris and our Grandson lived in the pool. Thank you for making us so welcome with everything you could ask for, a real home from home! Oh and the beautiful weather. When we come back again we will hire a car if we can pluck up the courage to drive abroad. Thanks for all of your help especially with the unfortunate loss of Chris’s bag at the airport. We will treasure these memories and recommend the villa to others



We read the description and thought this is too good to be true.. when we got to the villa it was true! - we loved our holiday here... You have to try Encarnacion, the restaurant on the beach in Los Alcazares, amazing atmosphere and food, great views over the Mar Menor.

Special interest holidays:

Murcia is known as the garden of Spain, the vast majority of the region is farmland. To the north of the region there are two wine growing districts. The area also boasts many fiestas and even music festivals in some summer months (eg San Javier Jazz Festival). Horse riding/trekking is available at La Manga. It's also a great location for watersports enthusiasts. The local wine is stunning, try Jumilla. The Sierra Espuna to the north offers walking and mountain biking facilities. To the north a new theme park is also under construction.

Coast/Beach:

The resort is close to the town of Los Alcazares which sits on the Mar Menor. The Mar Menor is an inland sea water lagoon, warmer than the Med by many degrees, wide, quiet, safe beaches await you. The closest beach is 6km, bikes are available at the villa to ride to the beach although a car would be useful to explore other beaches along the Mar Menor coastline. Thelassotherapy treatments are also available in San Pedro a mere 15 mins away.

Travel:

Murcia (MJV) is the closest airport and is less than 12km from the villa. Journey time is less than 15 mins. Murcia is served by Southampton, Gatwick, Bournemouth, Birmingham, Manchester, Madrid, East Midlands and many other UK and European airports. Alternatively Alicante airport is just under an hour by car. We would recommend that you hire a car to help explore this lovely unspoilt region. It is expected that Corvera airport will open this year, this is just over 20 minutes away.

Distances:

There is a strong Moorish influence to the area. This is the unspoilt Spain, no high rise here, no lager louts either. The resort is mid-distance between Los Alcazares and Torre Pacheco, 5km in either direction. Larger towns close by include Cartegena, an old Moorish sea port. The capital city of the region is Murcia which is a 40 mins drive to the north. There are many tourist attractions in the region including theme parks, wildlife areas, water parks and wine bodegas.

There are many great local restaurants in the area, a full list is available at the villa. Every taste is catered for here, particularly good are fish dishes and fresh vegetables most grown locally. A varied selection of restaurants is available to suit all budgets. Lots of supermarkets and shops around the area will also entice you to part with your euros. There are shopping malls at Dos Mares, about 10km from the resort and Cartegena. Here you'll find a supermarket, boutiques, restaurants, Spanish cinema, bowling and more. Murcia and Cartegena are thriving towns with many retail therapy opportunities! For shoe lovers the town of Elche is the shoe capital of Spain.

Notes on accommodation: This is a great villa for families, the rear terrace is very private and safe offering a tranquil base to relax in. The pool allows the kids to swim or cool down on hot afternoons. You'll also notice that none of the villas on the resort have security bars on the ground floor windows/doors, the resort has 24/7 security and CCTV on site. Other facilities like a shop are a two minute walk. The Intercontinental hotel on the resort boasts a top quality ESPA Spa with all of the treatments you could wish for. In addition you can use the hotel's well equipped gym for a small fee. Combined with the top quality restaurants on site this is a very special place to enjoy. The hotel often offers a 'kids club' during high season. Outside: The villa has a private pool and two bicycles. There's also a community pool and spa available at the hotel on the resort. This is less than 5 minute walk from the villa. You can swim and enjoy a snack, coffee, beer or all three at the pool bar! During the summer months there's also live music most weekends at the hotel. In addition there's a gym and personal trainer on site. Yoga and Pilates classes often run during the week. Utility Room: Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels (including pool towels) and bed linen are included in the rental, just bring your beach towel! A final laundry / cleaning charge is included in the rental fee. Other: Downstairs there's a large covered terrace, ideal for outdoor dining. We also have a spacious sun terrace upstairs, it gets the sun from early morning through to mid afternoon, a very nice spot. For the energetic there are two bikes to explore the resort.

Another fantastic family at the beautiful Villa

Our third year staying at the villa and never disappoints! To relax by your own pool whilst the children play or to unwind in the hot tub is just perfect. The resort has everything on site, from kids entertainment, supermarket, bars and restaurants so no need to hire a car. Great service from the owners which is why we go back. Back less a week and booked for our stay next year!

Had a very enjoyable stay at this villa. I was well appointed with everything you would need. Pity the pool was not warm enough for the little ones to go into. Hot tub was a real bonus.

Great summer holiday

The villa was home from home. It was clean, modern and of top quality with wonderful facilities. Air conditioning was really great to have. We would recommend this property to groups and/or families. It is also really well situated with a shop and restaurants within walking distance, useful as we did not have a car. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were very relaxing. The owner made everything clear and communicative, and the local key holders easily contactable. All in all, a fantastic stay!

Fantastic Easter holiday break

We had a truly wonderful time and the villa was the perfect base, plenty of space, tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped, the pool was very refreshing in the daytime and the hot tub was brilliant once the sun had gone down.

Lots of information was provided for activities to do in the area and the directions provided from the airport made it impossible to get lost even for a novice driving abroad. The owner could not do enough to make sure our stay was perfect!

Myself and family will most definitely return and I will be recommending to friends as well.

We are very happy to offer long weekend and other shorter breaks. Please note that all short break ( up to 4 nights) attract a 35% uplift if fees. No other charges are incurred, just one fee for all of your self-catering accommodation.
