The villa is conveniently located for a variety of facilities, and the area offers good value regarding golf and eating out.
My family and I had a fantastic holiday at your villa, and thank you for the continued correspondence leading up to our holiday and during it - it really helped to make our holiday perfect.
Our family of 6 adults and 4 children (aged 2,3 4 and 8) had plenty of room in this spacious villa. Lots of room inside and gorgeous outside spaces to enjoy the lovely weather. The villa was very clean and had absolutely everything you could need, even some lilos for the pool and buckets and spades for trips to the beach. The little village of Monte Francisco is a short stroll away and we would highly recommend the Cacadora restaurant, it provides high quality home cooking at very reasonable prices (and you can get a litre of house red wine for 5euro, which you top up yourself!).
Further away, the castle, fort and chapel at Castro Marim is well worth a visit, just a few minutes drive from the villa. Further down the same road you come to Vila Real San Antonio which has Lidl and a large local supermarket. The Lidl has a fresh fish counter which is excellent.
The nearest beach is at Monte Gordo, about 20mins drive from the villa. The beach is superb and you have a huge choice of restaurants and bars - much more 'touristy'.
If you want the true experience of Portugal, this little village is perfect and the villa is ideal for a large family holiday.
Thank you for a wonderful week, the memories will be with us for a lifetime.
Villa is lovely, very well stocked with everything you could need and in a great location to explore the area. The welcome pack was a great surprise and just what was needed after a long journey with children, very thoughtful. A car is highly recommended but the roads are relatively quiet and so fine to drive on for anyone who hasn't driven abroard. Beautiful beaches to explore and Praia Verde and Praia Manta Rota are a must. Monte Francisco has a couple a good restaurants, Luipi's had great service and Vila Real de Santo Antonio has great shops and restaurants. Would definitely return.
With myself and wife plus my two children's families this villa fitted our needs admirably being very comfortable and roomy. Initially we were not sure about the size of the pool but it turned out very well, the children living in it when we were there. Castro Marim is a nice town and we were lucky they had their Medieval Market and Castle experience whilst we were there which was a real bonus. As I said the location is very good in that we were able to visit Seville one day, (Hours drive), a water park another(45 minutes away), and several beaches nearby.
Like Jan Harvey kept in regular contact with us leading up to our holiday, furnishing us with details on everything we needed from how to operate the TV to information and directions to local beaches, restaurants, supermarkets and even details of the local medical centres.
When we arrived at the villa we were met and shown around. There was a welcome pack containing tea, milk, and breakfast items, which was fantastic as we had al travelled very early from the UK, a nice touch. The local agent Debbie was also very attentive during our stay calling to make sure everything was OK.
We were a party of 13 from 2 to 80, the villa and beautiful grounds were spacious enough to cater for all of our needs.
We found the local people extremely friendly and enjoyed a lovely evening a Lupi's restaurant and the local bar as you approach the village.
I would highly recommend staying here and hope to go back again soon
From the time I contacted Harvey around nine months before our holiday we were in regular contact, a lovely man with a lovely villa, the villa itself was very well equipped with everything you needed ample space lovely pool great views and very well kept. Purple Parrot the agents in Portugal were very helpful and kept you well informed with everything you needed to know, the local village 5 minute walk away has a small shop with fresh bread cold meats and most of your daily needs. The nearest beach is around 15 mins drive away with plenty of bars and restaurants ( beautiful ) Monte Gordo the bigger town has even more bars and restaurants and a lot more lively and busy. I would recommend this villa if you want peace and relaxation with a livelierlife scene not far away.I have already reserved my weeks for next year that has got to be a good recommendation.
My family and I had an awesome vacation in this wonderful villa! We were a party of eleven, ages from five to eighty yrs. We arrived late at night due to some travel delays, however, the property manager greeted us warmly with a gift package that also included breakfast items and that immediately settled us in. The owner & manager were very professional, property was clean and facilities as listed. With the size of the house everyone had their space, pool was heated so swimming was great throughout the day. Had barbecue with kids playing in the gameroom. Scenic view of rolling hills across the house and the village. The locals were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed three night of festivities round the corner of Castro Marim with live cultural music, food and drinks. Lovely beach just ten minutes away and several other attractions all a convenient drive away. Will definitely recommend this property and hopefully looking to be back soon.
We had a lovely family holiday in this large villa, which was quite well equipped, the air con , wifi and tv were brilliant as it was extremely hot and you needed to get out of the sun.
Games room good fun and the local restaurant A Casa Du Lupi is highly recommended for good food and despite what his menu says excellent service.
